Work Text:
Felix was drinking.
Again.
Which is probably not a good thing considering he has his bestfriend's kids to drive home , but Linda left him. (Not a good excuse but here he was, and he wasn't stopping.)
"Felix!", a voice calls out to him, in his drunken haze he turns around and sees William Afton, one of the cofounders of the more popular fast food chain "Freddy Fazbears Pizza". He despised the man, not only because of his own jealousy of his success, but because the restaurant this man owns serves the one food he loathes the most.
"Uh.. hello! what are you doing here?", Felix says awkwardly, finishing the glass of rum that was served to him at the school party. The man walks closer to him and Felix takes a moment to study his appearance. He was definitely taller than him, about an inch or so, with a similar stance as Jack does. He wore a white dress shirt and a black tie, brown hair neatly cut and side swept. William reaches him and slings an arm over his shoulder, intimidating Felix.
"Oh, got an invitation. Said they wanted to come and 'get to know the brilliance of William Afton and Henry Emily', though, they mostly just asked about the restaurant", Felix must be hallucinating, but the man's smile seemed to increase when he frowned.
"Come on Pal! liven up a little, put on a smile, you're never fully dressed without one!", he teases, smiling wide and orders a shot of vodka from the bartender. Felix averts his eyes and fiddles with his tie, feeling William's hands petting his hair, why was this man getting so touchy with him?
"What do you want Afton?", he asks, annoyed and wanting to get away. This seemed to make the man's smile grow wider and he finally looks at Felix, even adjusting his glasses for him.
"Well, friend ", he emphasizes, gripping Felix's arm, hard. "I heard you were building a new restaurant.. what was it called? Bob's burgers, or was it Ben?", Felix opens his mouth to correct him but was immediately cut off, "Doesn't matter, s'not like it'll be known much anyway, burgers? what a fuckin rip off", the co founder of Bon's burgers felt rage deep inside him, this had been his and Jack's dreams and this prolapsed asshole looking bastard has the audacity "Jack Walten's been craftin' better animatronics though, is that right?".
Felix feels his throat go dry, blood turning to ice. William Afton isn't a guy to cross, especially because of the many connections he has. If he wanted to, he could easily put Bon's burgers six feet under without lifting a finger.
"I-I uh..", he truthfully, did not know what to say. Jack was more of the person for these kinds of interactions, he was only there to do paper work, probably why he was only a 'cofounder', of all things.
"I'm just joshin!", William says, noticing the terror and ferocity that had fallen in Felix's features. It was a delicious sight, he wanted more of it.
"Or am I?", he moves closer and it took all of Felix's strength not to flinch. The other party goers were gone and Felix gains a sense of sobriety. Where was Edd and Molly? This interaction was getting oddly queer.
Felix forces himself to stand up and move away from Afton, "Look, buddy. Hate to cut our meeting short, but-"
"Listen, Felix", William's tone took in a more serious note and his previous confidence dissipated into the air, "I have a proposition for you- no you're not going anywhere, sit down.", the firm grip on his sides kept him in place, "You're a brilliant man, Felix Kranken", their competitor messes with Felix's hair, ruffling it, the strands falling in fluffy rivulets across his head, "You're intelligent, not many can do what you do", he winks at him, "You should be working for someone who truly knows your worth".
"What the hell is that supposed to mean?", The shorter of the two says defensively, noticing how they were now the only two people in the school cafeteria, a cold dread washes over him.
William laughs, actually laughs at that, "I think you know what that implies Kranken", he feels hands under his chin, tilting his head and his brown eyes met calculating, blue ones. Filling his head with manipulation and something else he couldn't quite comprehend. William was leaning in, this was odd, Felix knew this should stop, it wasn't right, this man had a family for christ's sake!
yet he can't seem to move.
"Felix? What the fuck?"
William lets go of Felix's face and They both turn to find Jack standing at the entry way of the cafeteria, looking absolutely fucking terrifying.
"I told you to get Edd and Molly home at around 9", it was evident Jack was seething in rage, "And I find my children alone, outside, where anything could happen to them while you- ". He was about to march onto Felix but William comes in between them.
"Now... now", William says and Jack feels like punching an Afton right at that moment, "Don't get mad at him, I was the one that invited him to sit at this..", William makes air quotations, " "bar" with me", he gestures at him and Felix feels surprised that Jack's features softened, "He was only being polite, and I didn't know he had children with him, my apologies", William says, although he doesn't sound sorry at all, it seemed enough for Jack.
"Alright", Jack sighs, "But I'm taking him home, thank you for looking after him Mr. Afton".
"Anytime Mr. Walten", William began walking out of the cafeteria doors before pausing, "I'll see you around Felix". He walks out.
Jack turns to Felix and gave him an expression that demanded explanation, "What he said", Felix lies, "I'm sorry Jack, I was only trying to be at my best for our competitor, can't have him telling the others that the founders of Bon's burgers were just as shitty as the food they make", he jokes but winces when he realizes how accurate that statement was. He hears Jack sigh again, "We're going home",
Felix remains rooted to the stool, hearing Jack's footsteps growing from loud to non existent. He wouldn't be able to drive, let alone see the damn road in his inebriated state, but maybe... that was a good thing.
His head only perks up once he hears the footsteps coming back.
"What, are you just going to sit around here? come on". Jack says, slightly irritated at Felix, who looks at him in confusion and says, "Why would you need to wait for me when I have a car?".
"And drive in this state? I dont fucking think so", Felix tilts his head, he swears he saw Jack's expression morph into pity, "Felix, you're seriously not considering driving while drunk are you? ", when his friend doesn't answer, he somberly continued, "You're coming with us, take the passenger's seat, Ed and Molly will sit at the back, we'll get your car first thing tomorrow morning", Jack straightens his tie, "and Rosie can't know about any of this, else she'd murder you, which is something that I honestly feel like doing right now but I can't run the restaurant alone". Felix frowns at that but Jack grins, "Come on", he slings Felix's arm on his back and supports his weight, "Damn you're heavy".
"I'm sorry".
"I know".
"I'm not talking about my weight Jack".
"I know". Jack hums and both of them walk out of the school, into the only lit car in the parking lot.
