My ABO Universe:
As I said before soulmates share the same scent(it wasn't in my mind at the time but this idea makes it easier since I don't need to find a scent for each character just for the couple) and there is no way of copying it totally(you can get a scent that his near that, because here perfumes all that exist, but it will never be the same). You gain your scent once you turn 11/12 but before that it is a watered down version of yours parents(if said parents aren't soulmates your scent will be a mixture of theirs during that time). Also your parents scent doesn't influence yours in any way so you can smell like strawberries but your parents smell like olives.
It wasn't explained completely when I mentioned it in the second chapter but once your soulmate dies you will gain the lingering scent of death that shows that you have lost your soulmate to anyone. Mochi is a example of it and later when they appear Baji Aoi and San Hirotsu will also be since they lost their soulmates.
So all the secondary genders have both reproductive systems but what changes between them is their fertility like:
Alphas- 99% of chances of impregnating someone but 10% of getting pregnant
Betas- 50% of chances on impregnating or getting pregnant
Omegas- 10% of chances on impregnating someone but 99% of getting pregnant
There is still an alpha voice but it is only used on your pack to put them in order or in dangerous situations. Betas normally have an easier time in calming the other two genders if they are in panic but it isn't a rule(as you could see Mikey is shit at calming and comforting someone).
Now about rut and heat, for me it is a small period of time(minimum three days and maximum a week) where the alpha is possessive of their soulmates or pack and an omega desires to be surrounded in a nest with their soulmates and pack's scents. Betas can have ruts and/or heats when they are mated with an alpha or omega.
There can be platonic relationships between soulmates even if they may not appear because I'm not sure about adding them so yes you can mate someone who isn't your soulmate.
This is mentioned in chapter 11 but in this universe also exist drops and they can happen to anyone. Drops are mostly when a alpha/beta/omega starts to reject everyone around them even unknowingly and once you have entered a drop you will look like you are sleeping but in your mind you are in a black and cold place with all your dark and bad thoughts surrounding you. Kisaki feared that because it happened to him when he was younger but thankfully his older brother was able to take him out of the drop(it scared both of them that they didn't leave each others side for along time until the accident). To take someone out of their drop you need to have a close bond to them(you can be soulmates, friends, family, etc but you really need to have a really close bond no matter the relationship) so that once you surround that person with your scent they will slowly come out of the drop as if they were being called home.
Characters In My AU:
This will be a general rundown about some characters and what they have different from canon.
Kazutora- As you may already have noticed he didn't end up in juvie for killing Shinichiro but for killing an alpha and that story will be told in one of the future chapters. He likes to crossdress and his two loves are bikes and books.
Naoto- He will be older than Hinata and was also part of the first generation of the Black Dragons. Him and Wakasa are the best bitches because I love this idea. He adores Takemichi and will also later adore Kisaki.
Kisaki- He isn't like the canon one even if he can be quite cynical sometimes or being the one to make most plans because he can detach himself from his emotions if it is really needed. He and Hanma are childhood friends. Kisaki had an older brother who died in accident when he was twelve just six months after he had is first and last drop in his life.
Akane- She had been part of a gang and it was a rival gang that put the Inui house on fire. She and Mochi had been together and she was planning on asking him in marriage but died before she could do it. Kokonoi wasn't in love with her
Kokonoi- He was always in love with Inui but acted like he was in love with Akane because his parents wanted him to marry a girl or at least a male omega but after the fire he moved to Yokohama where he met Izana and joined Tenjiku. He still loves money.
Takemichi- He knows how to fight and met Toman as he did before. Later he became the captain of the sixth division which became the one to gather information(his vice-captain is Takuya).
Shion- He is Kazutora's half-brother from his father's side(Shion's mother was their father's soulmate). He was told about having a brother from his aunt(his mother died giving birth to him and his father abandoned him a month later) and always wanted to meet but only got the opportunity when Kazutora was to leave the juvie. He adores his pack.
