Chapter Text
Namaari sat down beside Raya. It's been weeks after the restoration of the dragon gem and they had barely spoken. Namaari wasn't very good with words or expressing her emotions, but she decided to take the first step this time, apologize to Raya, try to mend their broken relationship, even though she had no idea what to say. What was there to say, really? I'm sorry I ruined your life, can we be friends now?
It was now or never, say something, she tells herself. Namaari looks at Raya who's lying down on the bed, back facing Namaari. Maybe it's better that way. This way she won't see Namaari make a fool of herself.
"You know, I really want us to start over, I never wanted to hurt you, I know you were alone all those years-
Raya interrupts her.
"I wasn't alone, Namaari"
Namaari frowns at her.
"I know you had Tuk Tuk, and then later on you found Sisu and the others, but-
Raya interrupts her yet again.
"You don't understand Namaari, I wasn't alone, I was never alone, not for 6 years at least"
She didn't sound angry, there were no signs of aggression or hurt. She sounded sad, almost nostalgic. Her words indicated that she had someone or people, beside Tuk Tuk and Sisu, and her gang, perhaps she had a family. It could've been a family, or a friend or even-
Namaari feels a lump in her throat and her thoughts start pacing. She hoped she was wrong. But she brushed it off and decided to try again. The words left before she could stop them.
"I know you haven't forgiven me and It's okay if you never forgive me, because I don't deserve it" Namaari turns around to leave but a hand pulls her back before she can and sits her on the bed.
"You're right, I haven't forgiven you and you can't expect that of me" Raya says.
Namaari feels tears form in her eyes. She deserved it, but it still hurt. Then she feels a gentle hand brush the hair from her face.
"At least not yet...this will take time but we'll get through this, won't we?" Raya says in a gentle voice and wipes her tears with her thumb.
Namaari places her hand over Raya's and squeezes it, just like Raya had done when they dragon gem was restored. She gives her a small smile.
"Yes"
