Chapter 1: Parenthood

Chapter Text

MiRae wakes up with a nice big yawn, stretching out in her bed before sitting up and taking a look around her room. She rubs her eyes with her tiny fists to clear her vision, still hunched over, nodding back to sleep.

She wiggles her toes underneath the blankets, loving how nice a toasty they were. Yep, just another Saturday morning. Except, it wasn't.

MiRae's eyes pop open before rushing out of bed, grabbing her adventure time Jake plushy off her very messy floor, swing the door open, and running down the hall towards her parent's room. She turns the knob, finding her daddies sound asleep with Taeho sprawled out in the middle of them.

Taehyung was on his stomach, one arm and leg hanging off the bed, while Jungkook and Jimin were cuddled on the other edge with Taeho's feet pressed firmly against Jungkook lower back.

The comforter was disregarded on the floor, along with Taeho's favorite blanket and some pillows. They looked so peaceful, soft snores filling the room.

However, MiRae didn't care one bit because today was special  (she wouldn't care either way, honestly) .

She climbs onto the bed, standing tall above the four, a wide grin spread across her face. "Wake up wake up! Wake up!" She yells, jumping up and down on the mattress, being sure not to step on her little brother as his lifeless body flops on the bed.

Taehyung jolts violently from his sleep, falling out of the bed and landing on his hip. "Goddamn it," he grumbles under his breath as he slowly gets up. MiRae giggles, hearing the curse loud and clear, "put a dollar in the swear jar, Daddy!"

The man stands up, rubbing his back, hair disheveled and clothes twisted.   "Yeah yeah, I know. Come here little one," he reaches for the girl picking her up in his arms and giving her a big bear hug, nuzzling his nose on the girl's neck.

MiRae laughs, trying to pull away, "Daddy stop, that tickle!"

The man hums, pulling away and kissing the younger on the cheek. "What are you doing up so early?"

"It's my birthday today!" MiRae cheers, her eyes sparkling brightly.

Taehyung eyes widen as if he didn't already know. He gasps rather dramatically, "is it? Are you sure?"

MiRae laughs, aware the man was acting. "Yes,"   she nods, holding on to Tae's neck tightly.

The elder quirks his brow, "hmm, I don't know. Let's ask Papa and Appa." He says, referring to the two men still sound asleep.

When the poly couple went through the adoption process, they realized their situation differed from others. For starters, there were three of them, and it would be confusing if Taeho and MiRae called them all daddy. So, they spent a good week brainstorming about names.

Nothing seemed quite right until Jimin suggested they take different versions of  'dad' ; Taehyung became  Daddy , Jimin became  Papa , and Jungkook became  Appa

Tae set the younger girl on her feet, encouraging her to wake her other fathers up, while he walked their side of the mattress to help. He counts down quietly before yelling and tickling Jimin, while MiRae did the same to Jungkook.

The pair wake up laughing, begging the duo to stop

"We're up!" Jungkook gasps, rolling over in a poor attempt to escape his daughter's fast fingers.

" I can't breath," Jimin snorts, causing a new onslaught of laughs to rush over the group. Finally, Tae and MiRae let up, allowing the two to sit up properly and caught their breath. MiRae straddles Jungkook's lap while Taehyung gives his husbands good morning kisses.

"Rae and I has a question," he speaks up, sitting on the edge of the bed.

Jungkook and Jimin give the man their undivided attention.

"What's up?" Jimin furrows his brow at the younger girl in his partner's lap, reaching up and smoothing his thumb over her soft, flush cheek.

Taehyung continues, "well, Rae says today is her birthday, but I'm not so sure."

Jungkook gives the girls the same exaggerated reaction as Taehyung did before, gasping in surprise. "Is that right?" he asks, peering at both Taehyung and Jimin for confirmation. "Did you know that it was this little cuties birthday?"

Jimin shakes his head, smiling softly. "If I had of known, I would have planned a huge party," he wiggles his eyebrows, tickling underneath his daughter's chin. MiRae giggles, pushing the man's hand away. She had such silly daddies.

The truth was that they really had planned a huge Adventure Time-themed party for today. And when they say huge, they meant it; over 50 people were going to be there. MiRae was the most popular five-year-old, not just in their inner circle but also in school and the neighborhood. ,

The girl's smile widens, brighter than the sun in the sky. "Will Jinnie and Joonie be there too?"

Jungkook hummed, kissing the girl on top of her head. "I don't know, sweetie… it's a surprise for all of us," he winks when the girl turns her head and looks at him expectantly. Little did she know that the couple would be among some of the first to show up to help with last-minute setup.

MiRae loved her favorite uncles, aside from Yoongi and Hoseok, of course. She enjoyed the mini-vacations her daddies would take her and Taeho on to the couple's beach house in Jeju. Her favorite activity was going down to breach and looking for crabs with Namjoon. She thought it was funny how excited he'd get every time he found one in the wet sand; it was like he was five and she was the adult. Despite her Appa's acting, she knew the pair wouldn't miss her birthday for anything.

Finally, Taehyung stands to his feet, picking up his daughter off his husband's lap and settling her in his arms. He kisses her on the cheek before addressing the group, "alright, I don't know about you, but I'm ready for some extra special birthday pancakes!" He cheers excitingly, hyping up the two men on the bed and the girl in his arms.

Jungkook and Jimin scoot off the mattress, following Tae and MiRae out of the bedroom, more excited about the coffee they desperately needed than anything else.

A for seconds pass, and Jungkook comes rushing back into the room, collecting Taeho's slumbering frame. He chuckles, "you too big guy…pancakes will wake you right up."

Taeho doesn't wake up. Instead, he settles into his father's strong arms, burying his face into the crook of his neck.

Taehyung, Jimin, and Jungkook joke all the time, saying the boy would grow to be a giant because he slept so much.

Jungkook rubbed the boy's back, carrying out the room to join the rest of the family, knowing the one thing Taeho loved more than sleep was pancakes.

Mornings used to be so quiet and romantic for the poly couple. They'd lay in bed, cuddled up, kissing and talking, not really ready to start the day yet.

Most days, they'd use this time to have some fun before taking a long sensual shower together, where round two would happen more often than not.

That's all over now. With two kids, they barely have time to kiss good morning sometimes.

They thought it would be easier with the three of them, but that wasn't the case. There weren't enough hands to go around between karate practices, school, potty training, and their full-time jobs. As a result, their sex life was all but non-existent.

While quick hand jobs and blow jobs were nice, they really missed penetration.

At any moment, a child could walk in and need something-they couldn't risk getting caught by a toddler who'd just had a nightmare in the middle of the night. Poor babies would be scarred for life.

It's sad, but they wouldn't trade the life they've built together for anything.

Believe it or not, this was their fairytale.

"Kook, where did you put the car keys? I need to get ice," Taehyung comes into the bathroom, where Taeho and Jungkook are taking a shower. The boy was held securely in the man's arms with shampoo in his hair, while his daddy sported a very charming suds beard.

Taehyung takes one look at the man and cackles, unable to keep a straight face while looking at his partner.

Jungkook pauses for a moment, quirking his brow and standing a little taller. "What's so funny? Taeho and worked on this beard," he defended, earning a full brown giggle from the boy in his arms. "Appa funny," he flashes a toothy smile.

Taehyung laughs, "you look like Santa, babe."

Jungkook smiles, "a sexy Santa, though, right?" He inquires, flexing his free arm to get a reaction from his lover.

Taehyung rolled his eyes, smirking. "Just tell me where the keys are."

Jungkook relaxed, thinking for a moment. "Jimin had them last. He went to pick up some balloons last night."

Taehyung nods his head, "right." He quickly leans his head in the shower to kiss Taeho on the cheek before placing a tender on Jungkook's lips, pulling away with a suds beard himself. Of course, Taeho and Jungkook couldn't resist teasing. Taehyung just laughs, walking towards the door, "haters!"

With that, he was racing out the bedroom and down the hall, towards MiRae's room where he found Jimin doing...something to the girl's hair.

"Babe, where are the keys?" he interjects, deciding against saying anything about what was being done to their little girl.

Jimin doesn't even look up, focused on getting MiRae's hair just right, a YouTube video playing on the iPad on the bed. He wasn't a hairstylist by any means, but MiRae acted him to do it, so here he was, fighting with a hair tie.

"Look on the hook at the front door," he responds quickly, using all his might to make the first pig tale perfect  (for the fifth time)  and just as the universe would have it, as soon as he's getting the hang of it, the hair tie snaps, forcing him to start from the beginning.

"Fuck," he mutters under his breath, but of course, MiRae was as sharp as ever, catching the elder's slip up.

"You did it again, Papa," she says.

Jimin grunted, "I'm trying my best here, but it's just not working….until this is done, just ignore my potty mouth, alright?"

"I'll do it for $10," the girl retorts promptly, grinning at the stuffed Hippo in her hand.

Taehyung titled his head, furrowing his brow. "Oof, that's steep.

Jimin cut his eye at the man standing at the door, "I told you taking her to work with you the other day wouldn't be good... she's mastered negotiating."

Taehyung laughs, "she learned from the best."

Jimin rolled his eyes, "don't you have somewhere to be?" He retorts, starting over for the hundredth time. In a second, he was about to call it quits and put a headband on her head and call it a day, the one thing he was good at.

Taehyung nodded his head, getting the message loud and clear. "Alright, I'll be back," he begins to walk away when MiRae calls for him. "Daddy! Can you get me bubble gum?"

"Sure baby, what flavor?"

"Strawberry, please?"

Taehyung salutes the little one and proceeds down the stairs and to the front door, where the car keys were nowhere to be found. He groans, wishing they could stay organized for once.

He was about to go back upstairs and grill Jimin but quickly decided against it- the man was stressed enough with MiRae's hair. So instead, he searched the living room for the elusive item, subconsciously cursing at his husbands for not putting things where they ought to be after using them. Then suddenly, he was brought from his thoughts when he moved a pillow from the couch and found a sleeping white bunny.

Taehyung's sighs, shaking his head as he picks the precious thing up and carries him to his luxurious cage, filled with toys, a blanket or two, water, food, and a tall tower where his fluffy bed sat at the top in a snug cubby.

Tae gently places the bunny on his princely bed; he pats the top of the rabbit's head, stroking his fur, "oh little Bow, you're just like your brother." He smiles softly as he watches the pet settle even further into a deep sleep. He was just about to turn around and continue his search when he caught a glimpse of his car key on the floor of the cage. He quickly retrieves them, baffled as to how they got there. However, that didn't matter right now; he had to hurry and get to the store and come back to continue party prepping- he would have a little talk with his kids later.

Taehyung takes long strides back to the front door, ensuring he still has his wallet on him. Once he opens the door, he runs right into his brother and Namjoon- quite literally.

"Hey, where are you off to in a hurry?" Jin braces his younger brother by his shoulders, fleshing a charming smile.

"Oh great, you made it…I need ice," as soon as the words left Taehyung's lips, Namjoon was holding up two big bags of ice.

The young man smiles wide at his hyung, "we have two more in the car, hyung. We got you guys covered," he cheered.

Taehyung relaxed, exhaling- he never thought the sight of ice would make him so emotional. He opens his arms wide and embraces his big brother, laying his head on his chest, swaying their bodies gently.   "I love you," he utters softly,   voice muffled but still audible for the two to hear.

Jin laughs, panting the latter on the top of the head, "there there, it's alright."

Taehyung helps Namjoon bring in the last of the drinks from the car while Jin gets started prepping the snakes and other foods in the kitchen. They were well-oiled machines, working together to get things done.

Tae glances at his watch, noticing guests would most likely be showing up in another hour or so and wasn't dressed yet-still sporting a Nirvana T-shirt and sweats he threw on after his shower this morning.

He should go upstairs and start getting ready with the others, but there was still much to be done.

Thankfully, Namjoon noticed the concerned look in the latter's eyes once he returned from his last trip to the car. "Hyung, you can go if you need to. Yoongi and Hoseok hyung will be here any minute to help out. If you want to, you can send the kids down, and I can entertain them until everyone gets here." He offered happily. Taehyung was frozen, staring at the man like he was sent from heaven just for him. he fought the urge to embrace the other, seeing he's already had an emotional outburst at the front door.

"Thanks, Joon," he started, just about to politely accept his generous gesture when he realized what he could do while the kids were out of dodge for a while. Correction. What he and his lovers could do.

His eyes lit up like a Christmas tree, his posture straightening a bit. He pants his old friend on the back before bolting for the stairs, leaving Namjoon where he stood smirking.

Taehyung heard talking coming from the master bedroom; he hurries to the room, excitement bubbling over inside him.

"Kids!" He calls loudly, bursting through the bedroom door, finding Jungkook shirtless with his jeans unbuttoned while prioritizing dressing Taeho. Jimin fixes one last hair clip onto MiRae's hair that was not in pigtails.

Everyone briefly pauses what they were doing to give the man their attention.

"Daddy, why you so loud?" Taeho quirks his head as Jungkook helps him pull up his jeans.

MiRae ran up to her father after her hair was finally finished, wrapping her arms around his leg and snuggling it was his cheek. She beamed brightly, "because he's crazy,"   she giggles.

Taehyung rolls his eyes, picking his daughter up and booping her little nose. "Yes, I am, but also…uncle Jin and uncle Joon are downstairs waiting for you!"

Both MiRae and Taeho cheered, the older girl almost launching out of her father's arms to get to the pair waiting downstairs. Taehyung laughed, letting the girl go.

MiRae grabbed her little brother's hand as soon as Jungkook was finished with him and raced down to see their uncles. Jimin tries to warn them to be careful, but Taehyung was already closing the door behind him and locking it. Jungkook and Jimin both quirked their brow, confused as to what their husband was doing.

Taehyung turns around and makes his way over to the two, grabbing them around their waists and bringing them in close.

Jimin sighs, placing his hands on the latter's shoulder, trying to pull away. "Tae, we don't have time-"

Taehyung didn't waste any time cutting the man off and kissing him on the lips.

Jungkook chuckled, raising his eyebrows. It had been a while since he's seen Taehyung so aggressive, and it was kind of hot. However, Jimin was right; this was the worst possible time to have a quickie. There was just too much to get done before the party.

Taehyung pulled away from Jimin, who was now in a trance and gave Jungkook the same desperate, deep kiss. It had been a while since they share such a heated moment; it was understandable why Jimin was in such haze.

Taehyung hummed in satisfaction- he had gotten the two exactly where he wanted them, now they'll be more receptive to what he had to say.

"We just need 5 minutes,"   he let go and pushed the two down onto the bed below.

They stare up at him. Still a little stunned as he removes his stained t-shirt and disregarding it somewhere on the cluttered floor.

"Hyung, we can't," Jungkook tried to reason before things progressed any further, afraid he wouldn't be able to stop once they got started. Their kids were downstairs with Jin and Namjoon for now, but they could come back any second in need of them.

This was a dangerous game.

Jimin must have been thinking the same thing, reaching up to settle his hands on the man's hips. "Look, Tae..I want to so bad, but the kids-"

Taehyung put his finger up to his lover's lips, hushing him, shaking his head.

Jimin furrowed his brow, cutting his eye over at Jungkook for some sort of clue, but the younger was no help.

Tae exhaled, "sleep…I just want to take a quick nap, with no kids, or baby bunnies underneath me. Please, can I have that?" He removes his finger from Jimin's lips, pleading with the man below him.

Jungkook and Jimin relaxed, feeling a little silly for thinking the latter wanted something more. They supposed those days are long gone now- a good night's sleep was their new orgasm.

Jungkook takes Taehyung's hand, smoothing his thumb over the back of his husband's hand. He smiles wide, tilting his head, "the kids are in good hands, we take as long as we need." He reassures the man.

It was the truth. Namjoon and Jin were like Taeho and MiRae's second set of parents.

If they wanted, the three of them could spend the rest of the day in bed like old times and let Yoongi, Hoseok, Jin, and Namjoon take over. However, that wouldn't be fair to their kids.

But no rule says they can't be a few minutes late.
