Summary
Abandoned as a child and forced to bounce between foster homes, a young woman finds herself in a remote village in the Carpathian Mountains after running as far as her legs can take her. The reclusive settlement offers only the briefest refuge as a dispute in the local tavern forces her to flee once again into the cold, winter night.
