“Being curious is innocent in a village, but pulling that stunt you did could get you killed out of it, do you understand me?” He felt cold, the water making him shiver, but he was more awake than he had ever been before.
As soon as he nodded his head, subtly shooing Akamaru away with his hand, his mother was on him again.

Once someone gets beat into the ground enough, they become something else. In one world, Kiba is allowed to grow up without being haunted by how weak he is, in this one, he is almost to acutely aware of it. It is killing him more than any S-rank shinobi can. His closest companions being his nin-dog, an unstable Nara, and moody Sasuke left more to be desired.
