Work Text:
Wolfram found him standing by the fountain in the moonlight. “Yuuri.”
His Fiance, very soon to be Husband, gave a full body wince and looked back at him “H-hey, Wolf…”
Wolfram crossed his arms. “Are you leaving?” The wedding was tomorrow. All the preparations were made, the decorations hung, most of the guests had already arrived. It would be just like his Wimp to run away now.
“No.”
“Are you lying?”
“I don’t think so.”
Wolfram huffed, closing the distance between them in a few long strides. “You said this was okay. That you wanted this.”
“I’m just nervous, is all. Cold feet are supposed to be normal, I hear.”
Wolfram narrowed his eyes on the Maoh. “What’s there to be nervous about at this point? Everything is already done. All you have to do is stand there and kiss me when they tell you too.”
Yuuri gave him a small smile. “I donno, knowing me, I’ll still manage to mess it up, somehow.”
“Only if you aren’t there.”
“I’ll be there!”
“Then why are you out here staring at the fountain?!”
“It’s just…” Yuuri looked back at the water. “Kinda weird, you know? Like all the other possibilities are closing off.”
“Are you saying you’d rather go after those possibilities?” Wolfram asked, trying extremely hard not to get anymore heated.
“No.” Yuuri said, reaching up to touch Wolfram’s elbow, since his arms were still crossed. “I still think this is the best one. It’s still just a weird feeling.”
“Hmf.” Wolfram said, turning his head away. “Yes, heaven forbid you have to make a choice for once in your Wimpy little life.”
Yuuri laughed instead of yelling at him. That tended to be his reaction to being called a wimp anymore. Maybe Wolfram needed to find something worse to call him. Yuuri wiggled his fingers between Wolf’s arm and chest until he was holding the blonde’s bicep. “I’m sorry for worrying you.” he whispered, placing a kiss on Wolfram’s shoulder before resting his head there. Wolfram felt the tension in his body drain away.
“I know it’s tradition, or whatever.” Yuuri said after a long moment of comfortable silence. “But, do you really have to stay in another room tonight?”
“Yuuri,” Wolfram sighed. “We technically shouldn’t be together right now.”
“But the bed just feels so empty without you in it.” Yuuri whined. “How am I supposed to sleep without you elbowing me in the gut at least once in the night?”
Wolfram scowled. “I don’t do that!”
“I still have a bruise from two days ago, do you want to see?” Yuuri asked, already starting to untuck his undershirt.
“Stop that!” Wolfram scolded, finally unfolding his arms to swat Yuuri’s hands away from his one waistline. “People are going to think we’re being indecent if they catch you like that!”
Yuuri grinned and shrugged. “So? I’m your Fiance, so it’s fine.”
“Is not fine.” Wolf grumbled, but still managed to blush at having Yuuri throw his own line back at him.
Yuuri turned and stepped right up against Wolfram’s chest now that his arms were no longer blocking the way. “Help me practice for tomorrow?” Yuuri whispered.
“You are hopeless.” Wolfram said but still allowed Yuuri to capture his lips with his own.
