To Have Seen Light

Summary:

Original poem by me
Poem discussing my feelings about sight and lack of it from one who is blind. My personal thoughts. Each poem is unrelated to the others.

Ch1: How would the ones who have seen light, know of the sorrows of those who live in the dark?

Ch2: Can you see the difference? Between darkness and light from someone who's blind and a person with sight?

Chapter Text

How would the ones who have seen light, know of the sorrows of those who live in the dark?

Or know of the sorrows of those who see the world through a broken kaleidoscope?

The friend would never see the face of one who finishes the unfinished parts of their heart and mind. What would they feel inside?

The pain of not being able to see the eye-watering sunset in deep hues evoking serene calm as night rises from the horizon.

Or what of the sunflowers in the meadow, turning to and fro following life source as She crosses the sky in her daily journey.

There is pain begot from there as well.

How would the ones who have seen light, know the pain of realising there is more out there, just out of reach.

Vibrant life and dazzling beauty unparalleled. Just beyond the grasp.

The stars in the cosmos twinkle like diamond on a ballgown of this velvet black sky.

Gorgeous is what many call it.

Aurora borealis. Nature’s marvels.

She paints our home in her vast array of light and darkness.

Seven hues mixed in infinite ways to make this broken kaleidoscope vision as stunning as could be.

Living in this darkness might render ones grateful.

To applaud the finer feel of life.

To slow down.

To feel.

To watch life happen through these fingers.

To feel coarse tree bark like callouses on the trunk

Or the soft bed of grass as lush as could be.

It seem the most beautiful between the palms, but they won’t to those whose eyes only collect this beauty, not in their hands.

How would the ones who have seen light, feel the joys found from watching the world through another person’s eyes?

Living in this darkness has an unparalleled beauty of its own.

How would the ones who have seen light, know of the joys of those who live in the dark?
