Notes:

Hi everyone!

Last week I found a list of fluff prompts so I decided to choose some of them and create a series of short stories, I hope you like the idea.

Today I pick the prompt from ( here! )
Well, "fluffiness" might get out of hand 'cause I'm such a sap so pay attention lol

P.s. I borrow the title from a great vintage song.
P.p.s I'm not a native english speaker so please forgive me for my eventual mistakes.

Work Text:

Eddie was deeply lost in his happy and love-filled bubble as he dreamly looked up at the starry sky, enjoying the quiet and the sound of the waves in the background.

His bruised but now healed heart vibrated with joy and a strong sense of peace irradiated in every inch and every corner of his body and soul, leaving him breathless and grateful for his new and extraordinary life.

He started a rollercoaster between his thoughts and feelings, and he slightly zoned out for a few minutes, wincing as Buck’s hand started tracing paths on his side, slipping softly under his shirt.

"Are you still here with me, babe?" he asked jokingly, running his thumb on Eddie's warm skin.

"I thought you were asleep", Eddie teased, placing a soft kiss on his forehead. "I was just thinking and then I zoned out for a moment, the ocean sound is like a lullaby."

"What were you thinking?" he questioned curiously, his head still resting on Eddie's chest as he shifted closer to his warm and strong body he loved so much.

Eddie didn't answer, he reached for Buck's hand on his stomach and he touched his wedding ring softly, smiling so hard it made his cheeks hurt.

"I love you so much, mi amor", he murmured as he interlaced their hands, making their wedding rings collide with a soft noise. "I was thinking that you changed my life bringing so many colours and happiness in my messy world. You and Chris are my everything and I am so happy that sometimes I feel almost scared by all this happiness."

Buck smiled softly at his sappy husband, pressing a kiss on his sternum, earning a delightful sigh and a grin he couldn't see from his koala-position.

They have been married for two weeks now but their honeymoon started in less than twenty four hours. Initially they decided to not plan a trip after the wedding because they didn't want to leave Chris but that smart and lovely son of them practically begged them to go out of town for a week or so, so Eddie booked a gorgeous resort in San José del Cabo and two plane tickets, happy to celebrate one of the best days of his life.

“I feel the same”, Buck replied, swallowing the knot in his throat. He still hadn’t gotten used to Eddie’s declarations of love, always so intense and profound. “I pushed happiness away for too long, I was used to feeling worthless and to think that no one would ever love me but then I met you. I needed a best friend, someone who had my back and ours was absolutely the best friendship I ever had in my whole life but God, you are so much more now. You look at me and you just see… all of me, my strengths and weaknesses and you love them both. You love me in the way I’ve always hoped to be loved.” His voice cracked as tears rolled down his cheeks as goosebumps spread all over his body. “I am so lucky to have you by my side. You gave me all I ever wanted… love, happiness and a family.”

Eddie held him close, tangling a hand through his blonde and soft hair.

He stayed silent for a while, just enjoying their closeness and the ocean sounds.

“You taught me how to love again, Evan”, he whispered some minutes later, lifting his chin with two fingers to look straight in his wonderful blue eyes. Buck blushed and his breath caught in his throat as Eddie talked again, a smile dancing on his lips. “I was a mess of anger and sadness and guilt. I was a man stuck in his past and the only two things that made me feel alive were Chris and my job. You have been the rainbow after the storm, the oxygen after a dive, the water in a desert. You saved me from myself, you gave me love and you made me understand that my life wasn’t over, that I could be happy again. And now I know I couldn't have fallen in love with anyone but you. It’s always been you, amor, even when I was too dumb to figured it out.”

Buck closed the distance between them, pressing his lips against Eddie's.

He was lost of words so he put all his feelings in that kiss, aware that Eddie would understand because he always did.

His heart raced, bursting in his chest as Eddie held him closer, cupping his face with those perfect and warm hands of his.

What should have been a sweet kiss turned into a passionate one when Eddie parted his lips, licking his way into Buck's mouth, making their tongues dance together as they fell further and further into the kiss.

“I… I love you Eds”, Buck breathed on his lips, resting his forehead against Eddie's. “I love you so much.”

Eddie smiled softly, brushing his nose against Buck’s, earning a soft moan. “I love you too, corazón. We are so sappy, you definitely turned me into a corny guy.”

Buck laughed hard, poking his husband’s side, and Eddie fell in love with his laughter again, like the first time he heard it.

Buck’s laughter was his favorite song, the one he would never be tired of.

“You can’t blame me. Deep down you have always been a sappy guy, you just needed someone to bring your sweetness to the surface and it turns out that I was the right person”, he stated, an amused expression on his face. "Besides, I'm a big fan of your sappy side, since the beginning, when you showed that with Chris only."

Buck shivered after a strong gust of wind, shifting closer to his husband, known for his always warm body.

Eddie was like a furnace and Buck loved to sleep snuggled up to him, enjoying his warmth and his cuddles.

"Are you okay?", Eddie asked, as the protective husband he was.

"Yeah, everything is okay. I'm just a little cold… don't worry babe", he answered as Eddie's cuteness warmed his heart.

Eddie shook his head and smiled, gently pulling him away from his chest to take off his grey hoodie.

"Come here", he mumbled, laying on his back again as Buck did what he asked, resting his head in the crook of his neck.

He placed the hoodie on Buck's shoulders, massaging his arms gently to warm him as much as he could. "Are you feeling better?"

Buck sighed lazily, rubbing his nose against the sensitive skin under Eddie's ear, placing a soft kiss right there.

"Yes, Eds. Thank you."

"By the way, I can totally blame you but I don't want to. I'm so happy to be a sappy guy for my favourite people, you and Chris deserve the world."

"We don’t need the world, we only need you", Buck murmured straight into his ear, with a soft voice and a bright smile on his lips. Sometimes he wondered what he had done to deserve Eddie and Chris. "Honeymoon makes us the sappiest couple ever, doesn't it?", he joked as Eddie chuckled happily.

"Yeah, it surely does", Eddie stated, kissing Buck's birthmark, lingering his lips on it for a while.

Buck shivered again, closing his eyes as he reached for Eddie's hand, its warmth in contrast to his skin's cold. He sighed, annoyed, because he wanted to stay there, on a blanket at the beach, with the ocean and his husband and nothing else.

But that cold was bothering him so much and of course Eddie noticed it.

"Let's go home", he proposed, hugging him tight, interlacing their fingers as he felt how cold his skin was. "You are freezing and I don't want you catching a cold."

Buck pouted, pursing his lips before sputtering something in Eddie's shirt.

"I didn't understand, cariño", Eddie said, a curious look on his face. "Hey… what's wrong?" he asked a few minutes later, when Buck's silence became too long to handle.

"I'm sorry", Buck whispered, looking dismayed and sad. "It's so amazing here… the ocean, the quiet spot we found, the stars, the whole romantic atmosphere. I'm loving all of this and I know you are loving it too, I'm so sorry to ruin our night because I'm cold, it's so childish."

Eddie frowned, swallowing the lump in his throat as his heart ached. Every time Buck showed his insecurities, Eddie felt something hitting his stomach, like someone was punching him hard.

"It's not childish, you are not childish or exhausting", he said firmly but gently, caressing his back up and down.

He knew that sometimes Buck needed to hear those words, to remind himself that he was worthy of love and respect and happiness. He glanced at him, cupping his face gently, drowning in his bright eyes.

"You are right, I'm loving this night at the beach with the stars and the ocean and whatever but you know why? Because I'm with you. With the person I want to spend my life with. And it doesn't matter if we are at the beach, at the firehouse, in a suite, at our place, at the supermarket or somewhere else because what matters is that we are together. All that matters is you and me, anything else." Eddie collided their lips together, kissing him slowly as Buck smiled on his mouth before breaking the kiss and resting his forehead against Eddie's.

"Besides, our comfy king-size bed is waiting for us so Evan Buckley-Diaz… let's go", Eddie winked, whispering on Buck's lips. "We can cuddle and snuggle in our suite."

Buck smiled slyly, before shrugging.

"Or, we can have our third round", he smirked, biting his bottom lip with a knowing look on his face.

"You know I never back down when it comes to you but I have to correct you, we are going to have our fourth round… you missed the great make out session into the hot tub, mi amor", Eddie stated, laughing as he noticed Buck's shocked face. "Shame on you!"

Buck laughed, hiding himself into Eddie's arms, resting his head on his chest.

"How could I forget that amazing round?", he asked rhetorically, his voice amused as he chuckled, shaking his head.

"Don't worry, you can make it up to me in a few minutes", Eddie suggested, standing up hastily as Buck mirrored him.

They ran on the sand, hand in hand, as they laughed and kissed along the way, happiness all around them as the sky was a witness of their unconditional love.

Somehow they managed to reach their bedroom after stopping here and there, stumbling on their own feet as they kissed and panted against each other's lips, impatience and lust across their faces and into their eyes.

"Our son is the smartest boy ever, remember me to thank Chris one more time when we'll be back home", Eddie said slyly, pushing Buck against the door, blocking him with his strong body as he bit his neck. "We can be loud as much as we want", he murmured into his ear.

Buck moaned, nodding as he thrusted his pelvis against Eddie's.

"Yeah, we'll thank him again, he surely deserves it", he smirked, switching their positions, taking Eddie's shirt off and throwing it somewhere on the floor. "You know I love hearing you scream my name loudly with that sexy and hoarse voice of yours."

Eddie panted, closing his eyes as Buck's fingertips mischievously traced the lines of his sculpted abs, making him shiver under his cold hands.

"You have to do something if you want me to scream your name, Evan", he groaned flirty, sucking a flap of skin under his collarbone until it left a hickey just to hear Buck's moans straight into his ears.

Buck licked his way into Eddie's mouth, kissing him hardly and dirty until they reached for the bed. He pushed Eddie on his back, hovering over him as they pulled off every piece of clothing, impatiently, until their bare bodies were pressed together.

"You drive me crazy, Eds", Buck stated, his eyes cloudy with desire and need. "I just can't take my eyes and my hands off you."

"Then don't do it. Your gaze and your touch look good on me", Eddie replied quickly, cupping his face before stealing him a passionate kiss. "I love you."

Buck smiled against Eddie's lips as he started showing him how much he loved him, with his gestures and his attention and his care as he kissed and touched him lovingly and longingly, thrusting himself in every inch and corner of Eddie's body as their souls melted into one. Their legs and fingers were interlaced, their hearts were exactly at the same pace, their tongues danced together as Buck loved Eddie fiercely and Eddie loved him back with the same intensity.
