He knows it’s kinda creepy that he’s monitoring Buck’s heart rate but something insane just happened to them— he watched Buck get struck by lightning, also got himself thrown off the ladder by that strike, counted how long his heart had stopped and he’s realized he’s in love with him— so he needs to be able to see that Buck’s okay and all is good with his heart.

Eddie gifts Buck a heart rate watch which he tracks often to help ease his anxiety until one day when he catches Buck enjoying himself.
