"Blue?" you swim slowly, looking for your smaller mate. He'd promised to go shell hunting with you later. It kept you both busy when food was plentiful. Good for crafting supplies, too. Around a corner, you find Blue. He's sunning his face through the small various windows that let in the warm sun when the time is juuuust right. Blue has the most energy out of you three, so the cozy sight strikes a chord. What sticks out to you the most is the bolt of fabric wrapped around his shoulders. It's one of your coverings. "Aww," you say on instinct, clasping your hands to your chest. Blue bucks up in shock and the covering slips down one of his shoulders.
"Dear! Uhm, this isn't what it looks like!" Blue rushes to explain.
Someone chuckles deeply behind you. Hick pats you on the head before swimming past you. He's probably hungry. This is around the time he usually snacks. "No, no, it's fine!" you smile fondly, "it was very cute." Blue sighs in relief and tucks the covering closer to himself.
"Can I... have this for a little longer?" he asks.
"Of course, but slide over, I want a nap too."
That's how you and Blue end up napping in shared warmth between you. Neither of you wake when Hick curls around you both, shielding you with his large tail.
