"You don't have to do this."
"Yah, that's the third time you say this!" Dongsik chuckled, briefly halting to jostle Juwon back in a proper position behind him. "Besides, you can't walk on your foot, punk."
"This is embarrassing." Juwon piped up after a stretch of silence.
Dongsik's footsteps made little sound as he walked on the sand effortlessly, Juwon's weight seemingly nothing to him. He looked over his shoulder to catch a glimpse of Juwon's eyes and face turned toward the burgundy horizon, where the sun set moments ago, on their right in a stubborn attempt at pretending to be fine.
"Embarrassing? Do you hate your boyfriend giving you a piggyback ride that much?"
Dongsik could practically hear Juwon's eyeroll behind him and it made him chuckle once more.
"You know very well this isn't what I was trying to say."
Dongsik hummed noncommittally, light snort falling easily from him at his companion's endearing shyness at the current situation.
"You should be thanking that sea urchin!" Dongsik teased, eyeing Juwon's pricked foot. The swelling had decreased.
Juwon's arms tightened around Dongsik's shoulders, ever so slightly, for the shortest seconds and then Dongsik felt a face pressing into the side of his neck.
"Boyfriend..." It rolled off of Juwon's tongue in an incredulous tone. And then more affectionate, with stronger intent and greediness "I prefer partner."
Dongsik smiled large and silly, staring ahead as the sky started dotting itself in stars.
"Mm, partner is nice."
