There’s a new statue in Latissa.
It’s been all over Pennstagram the last few days- the Emperor’s Coven revealing another statue of what happens to traitorous witches. The last few have been shoddy carvings of the Azura characters- kind of concerning, but…
Not as bad as this one seems.
Any pictures of it have been immediately taken down- like, right before Luz can get to them. There have been several comments about people not recognizing the statue from any kind of literature, and how it’s a bit more detailed than usual… that does make her worry.
There is a new statue in Latissa and Luz has no idea what it looks like. The witches have described it without pictures, she’s sure, but even those are getting taken down.

Eda seems a little quieter, nowadays- Luz suspects she knows why. Lilith comes over, and she and Eda talk. A lot. Apparently, Lilith’s figured out a glyph to create a dome of silence around her and her sister, because Luz can’t hear what they’re talking about through the closet door she snuck into.
They talk for a while, and when Luz can finally come out of the closet, the sisters are sitting in the living room together, quieter than she’s ever seen them.
Luz leaves, says she’s going over to Amity’s- both her awesome girlfriend and King have also been more quiet than usual, she’s noticed.
She doesn’t go to Amity’s.
There’s a new statue in Latissa.
She lands there, having borrowed Eda’s staff to “go to Amity’s”.

It’s a bit hard to find, not really knowing her way around and the crowds of people making it hard to spot.

But she finds it.

It’s of a boy.

He has mussed-up hair, a torn, stone cloak, and is thrusting a chipped cardinal palisman forward as if to defend himself.
There’s a new statue in Latissa.
There are scars- some she’s seen before, some she hasn’t; some have stone drips eternally leaking from them.
There’s a new statue in Latissa.
He looks terrified.
There’s a new statue in Latissa.
(Months later, the statue is removed, a day or so before the worlds split open and converge.
Luz isn’t able to find the statue again.)
