“Vince…” Cloud’s breath caught at the feather light touch. “…nt…”
“Sorry,” Vincent muttered, but his hand didn’t move. His eyes flicked over each of Cloud’s features before squinting gently. He turned his hand and brushed his knuckles against the curve of Cloud’s cheeks. “You’re incredibly beautiful.”
Cloud shoved lightly at Vincent’s chest. The most he succeeded in doing was making both of their bodies sway. “Shut up.”
“I don’t think so.”
Vincent shifted his hand again and pressed the flat of his palm against Cloud’s face. Without the glove, Cloud’s skin was far warmer than he remembered it being. Softer too... It was nice to be able to feel him properly. He was lost in the fine details of Cloud’s face: the crease set between his brows, the faintly dark bags under his eyes, the crease at the corner of his nose that had slowly formed from his most heartfelt sneers. Vincent touched each one with a stroke of his thumb before coming down to trace the gentle curve of Cloud’s lips.
They were the softest shade of pink and wonderfully soft to the touch. He thumbed at them quietly, all the while taking note of the shaky breaths Cloud let out. He wasn’t sure why he was feeling so reverent, why he wanted to map the quieter moments of Cloud’s life under his hands. But he did. To his pleasant surprise, he wasn’t rebuffed. Vincent, came as a shier huff of his name, and his own lips quirked up slightly.
He gave another apology as he brought up his other hand. The pair cupped Cloud’s face and held him preciously. Cloud’s brows twitched uncertainly. His lips parted with the start of some quip, but it was stolen by the kiss. He fell into it as easily as always. Each peck was a soft touch that grew firmer with every press. Eventually, Cloud frowned and nipped Vincent impatiently. Another half-apology came in the form of a smile. Vincent drew Cloud closer, and Cloud curled his fingers in the flow of Vincent’s cape.
Their mouths fit against each other in a slow exchange of adoration. Cloud gave under it again, realising that his own adoration could not compare to the worship Vincent felt fit to give. He made a helpless, weak noise in the back of his throat as the kiss warmed him from within. Vincent pulled back a hair’s-breadth and traced Cloud’s lips with his own, first the top and then the bottom. A slow pass over each before sealing it with another kiss. Once, twice. Cloud gasped against him, trembling and wanting.
Just as Vincent started to withdraw, Cloud held him close—and glared at him. It was hard not to laugh. Vincent brushed his nose against Cloud’s to placate him. Nothing doing. His smile widened a fraction more.
“You seem mad.”
“You fucking think?” Cloud snapped back. He reached up to tangle his hand in Vincent’s hair before tugging him back down. “Bedroom. Now,” he ordered.
Vincent tipped his head before pressing a kiss on that lovely brow crease again. It was perhaps the only thing that truly aged Cloud.
“As you wish,” he managed to say before he was dragged into another kiss that was far more insistent than the ones that came before.
