Work Text:

When they were flying back to Berk with a whole armada of boats following behind dragons, Snotlout thought it was a dream.

He was riding a Monsterous Nightmare. The most ferocious and tempermental dragon of the Archipelago and he was riding it.

His hands squeezed the large dragons horns. If the dragon wanted to it could fling him off and watch him plummet into the water. The Jorgenson gulped and looked down to the vast ocean before looking back up hastily.

He turned to the other riders. The Twins looked like they were having fun, knowing Hiccup was ok and well and was on one of the boats with Stoick, Gobber and the Night Fury.

Fishlegs looked like his eyes were about to pop out and Astrid seemed to be speaking to her dragon.. wait? She's talking to her dragon?

The viking turned back and looked at the large head and gulped. Could this wyvern even understand him?

Snotlout felt nervous, a bead of sweat dropped from his forehead and so he lifted his left arm for a moment to wipe it off just as a gush of wind made him fall back. He gasped before quickly grabbing back onto the horn which tugged the dragon, making its head look up harshly on how much force Snotlout yanked it.

The Monsterous Nightmare growled pulling his head back in the direction he wanted to go. The Jorgenson lost his grip reaching and grabbing at nothing as the wyvern lifted its head to where the viking slid and landed on the dragon's back.

The Jorgenson cried out thinking he was falling. He was glad no one could hear him over the roaring winds. "Sorry! I'm sorry!" His hands were waving in the air before he realized he wasn't falling. He opened one eye and looked into angry yellowish-orange eyes.

The boy looked everywhere but those slitted pupils and waved his arms. "A-aren't you supposed t-to watch where you're going? Or flying!? " He didn't know where to put his hands and he couldn't believe he was actually speaking to the beast. "Watch where you're flying!"

The dragon looked at him as if he was some sort of annoying bug he needed to scratch off.

Snotlout watched as the dragons eyes started to narrow. "W-what's that face?" The Jorgenson spoke too quickly, looked down then to everyone. They all seemed distracted and so whatever this dragon was thinking, would anyone notice?

It leaned towards him and Snotlout knew he couldn't go anywhere and so he closed his eyes, his breathing quickened and his hands instinctively raised to protect his head but all the dragon did was nudge his forhead, which made Snotlouts helmet fall back before he caught it. "Hey! Hey! Back off!" He pushed the snout which made the beasts mouth open as if it was going to tear off his hands before closing its mouth just as swiftly and turned around, leaving the Jorgenson shaking slightly.

The boy scooted himself backwards on to the middle of the dragons back, being careful not to fall as the wind harassed him. He criss-crossed his legs and decided to hold on to one of the large fins that protruded from its back.

Snotlout looked up and around, the clouds looked as if they were dancing and the Jorgenson couldn't help but appreciate the view. The sun was shining brightly on all of them and it made the wind much more bearable.

The viking looked at the head of the dragon and scowled. He must've upset the wyvern. He sighed and looked at the other teens. Astrid was having the time of her life.

It looked like even the Deadly Nadder was having fun as it twirled and spun in the sky. He couldn't hear if Astrid was laughing but he could see her bright smile from where he sat.

When he looked towards the twins they were standing on the heads of their dragons trying to punch eachother. His mouth fell open and he turned to the Monsterous Nightmares head. No way was he ever going to do that.

He turned to his right and looked to Fishlegs, whos eyes were buldging earlier, was finally rubbing the Gronckles head and so Snotlout looked back at the red and black scaled wyvern and nervously placed his shivering hand on the base of its back.

The muscle flexed as if scaring off a fly. The Jorgenson took a deep breathe before putting his hand back down and started petting it. It was like petting a dead snake he had found a long time ago.

The Jorgenson had picked it up and said he killed it himself to his father. His dad had congratulated him before saying that all he had to do now was kill a boar which then went to a bear, until finally a dragon.

Bile was starting to form in his throat. Would they be friends with dragons? That would be great if they were.. it would mean no more war.

Would his father be happy for Berk? Would he be upset he wasn't able to kill a dragon before this all happened? His hand continued to massage the surprisingly smooth scales. Would his dad be proud of him?

He turned back around seeing that the other teens were getting farther away. The wind blew harder on his face and he had to lift his hand to block the wind to protect his eyes.

"Hey!" Snotlout yelled, trying to get the dragons attention. "Hey! Go back!" The dragon continued flying, ignoring the passenger on its back. "Hello!? I said go back!" The Jorgenson pulled on the fin which didn't seem to bother the beast.

When Snotlout turned around there was no boats he could see around him and the riders were nowhere to be seen.

"H-hey! Where, where are we?!" The dragon ignored him as it made its way to a small island. "Hey, I have to go home!" He started to squirm and his hands gripped the fin as the dragon landed on soft sand.

"You can go w-wherever you want to, b-but don't drag me around with you!" It's snout turned back to him and opened. The Jorgenson crawled back not realizing he was about to fall off before it was to late.

He rolled backwards, sliding down the wing until his back hit the sand. He stayed there for a moment, a groan escaping his lips as the light that he could see through his eyelids disappeared.

He opened them and met with large teeth. Snotlout had immediately pushed the snout away and rolled himself onto his side so he was able to get on his legs.

The dragon seemed to understand and rolled its eyes, looking annoyed as it walked off.

"HEY!" The viking followed behind and poked its tail, making the beast turn around to look down at him. "Ok dragon!" The glare the boy received made him fumble. He had forgotten what he was about to say and he fell silent with his mouth agape before finally remembering. "You! I am commanding you‐" The wyvern looked around incredulously, "-to take me back!"

The Monsterous Nightmare had to give it to him, he was standing up straight and he was no longer cowering back like a scared fledgling.

The wyvern growled before turning around and wacking the human harshly with its tail before continuing on into the forest. If Snotlout had seen the hit coming he would've been able to dodge it, he was sure of it.

The impact felt as if he was getting hit by two full grown yaks and the inhale of air he took was well deserved as he caught himself on the soft grass. He coughed, hearing the dragon rumble as if it was laughing.

Small trees broke and bent as the wyvern made its way through the forest. The boy was left on the ground gasping and heaving, trying to catch his breath as the dragon finally broke through the trees to a large pond.

There was a large water fall that fell into the lake and not so far away was a cliff that dropped showing the ocean. The water had loads of fish and the dragons tongue lulled out as its head stuck into the water.

"Uuugghhhh!" Snotlout was rolling around on the soft grass, watching as the dragon strode off, his eyes closed tightly. His breathing was finally getting better and so he tried to get up and follow the wyvern but he was still taking gasping breathes as if was his last.

"You!" He inhaled, "you get," he exhaled, "back over here!" He finally got up, putting one foot in front of the other, making his way over to the dragon who had its head submerged into the water.

The viking stomped over, still breathing heavily, and grabbed the beasts wing and tugged. "I'm talking to you!" The head was still in the water and so Snotlout looked around, a glare on his face, as he caught his breath, and stopped when he spotted the tail.

He trudged over to it and picked it up. The Jorgenson stopped for a moment, the tail was extremely heavy but still he managed. He narrowed his eyes and looked the dragon up and down. Yep, he was doing this.

His arms circled around the tail and hefted it up to his chest a little winded and then tugged..

Hard...

He held on for dear life and his legs dangled as he was lifted to the front of an angry Monsterous Nightmares face. The vikings feet kicked and his eyes met with a fish that was still wiggleing outside the beasts mouth before it was thrown into the air and caught, devoured whole and still moving.

Their eyes met only for a moment before Snotlout looked away quickly. He heard the sound of it going down the dragons throat and he stayed there unmoving.

He dangled in the air for a moment before sputtering incoherent words, realizing he could fit in the dragons mouth. "Y-you can, uh, continue ea-" Snotlout stopped... No he was a Jorgenson! He doesn't back down!

"Look here, dragon!" He let go with one hand and pointed aggressively. "You take me back home right now!" With each word that escaped his mouth the wyverns eyes would narrow darkly. "You'll have all the time to fish anywhere on Berk! Like anywhere! Seriously!"

The tail started to swing but the viking didn't care or was just unaware of the danger.

"There are loads of fishing spots that I, only me, know of because I'm great and you're gonna listen to me!" The Jorgenson pointed his thumb at himself before grabbing the tail which lifted higher. The Monsterous Nightmare looked pissed and Snotlout held that glare.

He stared into the dragons slitted pupils until he was raised high up, the Jorgensons eyes widened, realizing what was about to happen and almost let go but was too late. He was hurled across the pond, losing his helmet in the process and a girlish shriek escaped his mouth, before bouncing twice and sinking into the water.

As he resurfaced he cursed, "You bacraut!" The dragon was walking off but froze mid wing and turned around slowly. It's fangs were showing and Snotlout sat there motionless, while treading through the water.

The dragon couldn't have understood him... right? Oh, how he was wrong.

The wyvern spread its large wings and roared in his direction, watching as Snotlout got the jift and was in the middle of quickly swimming to land.

He heard wings beat and before he knew it he was grabbed around his waist by sharp talons and hoisted into the air. Snotlout grabbed the claws around his belly, screaming, while kicking. "Let me go! Wait!! Don't let me go!!"

He watched as the ground got smaller and smaller and the ocean seemed huge from how high he was getting. The wind blew through his hair as the Monsterous Nightmare flew to heights he's never been to until he was thrown into the sky.

His screams made birds and terrible terrors fly away as he was caught and thrown again. "StooOAAAP!" At first Snotlout thought the dragon was going to let him drop when he felt the slap of the wind hitting his stomach and chest.

This continued on for what seemed like forever to Snotlout but only seconds to the Monsterous Nightmare. Its claws wrapped around the vikings midsection and again threw him in the air just to be caught on the dragons neck.

The Viking had his hands on the horns as soon as he landed and the dragon didn't give him any time to catch his breathe as he dived down.

The viking had his eyes closed shut, not wanting to see what was happening next as they hit the water full force.

It was freezing and Snotlout inhaled water on accident but kept holding on as they traveled through the ocean.

The Jorgensons legs encircled the dragons neck for more leverage as he felt the icy liquid drop from his skin as the roaring winds hit his face until he was again under water.

The wyvern swam fast until it and came to a stop,  glaring back at the human.

Snotlout was holding his breath as long as he could but a quick open of his mouth signaled the dragon to exit the ocean once again.

This time the dragon continued straight up and spinned in circles. Making the water fall off itself before stopping midair, making the Jorgenson fall forward and just as quickly it grabbed the boy by his tunic on his chest and glared dangerously in the coughing boys face.

A shirt tearing and winds blaring and vigorous coughing was all that was heard.

Snotlout coughed up a storm and the dragons face contorted into one of regret before shaking its head vigorously before continuing scowling at the viking. The boy was coughing and hacking up water before his eyes finally opened.

The boy was drenched to the top of his head to the tip of his boots. Snotlouts eyes were watery and snot dripped from his nose and so he quickly wiped it away. He couldn't escape that torturous stare though.

He continued coughing and his hands shakily lifted, meeting the dragons snout as his legs were left hanging. "I'm.. I'm.." The Jorgenson coughed up another spew of water as the chill in the air carried his voice. "Not sorry."

The boys eyes were still watery but he held the Monsterous Nightmares gaze, before coughing up more water, the breeze blew through Snotlout hair and so the boy lifted his hands to protect his face.

The only sounds that could be heard was the continous coughing and the breeze hitting their ears. The wyvern loosened it's grip on Snotlouts tunic, making him grip what he could, which was the horn on the dragons snout.

When their eyes connected again the viking glared right back at him with red cheeks and watery eyes. As if taking it as a challenge.

That's when the wyvern knew it. This was the perfect viking for the Monsterous Nightmare. He was as stubborn as the dragon was and even know the viking was glaring daggers.

Snotlout was determined not to back down. The Jorgenson was shaking from the freezing dip he took but still glared into those draconic eyes.

They stayed there, having a staring contest until the dragon dived again. The Jorgenson shut his eyes thinking he was going to take another dive and took a deep breath in before the wind stopped hitting his back and he heard a thump before the wyvern dropped him.

A scream left his lips before he felt the ground hit his back. One eye opened and he glanced up seeing the dragon look down at him with a smug face before trudging off towards the water.

The viking decided he'd stay there. His hands dropped to the sides and he looked up into the sky. The clouds blocked out the sun, leaving the ground shady. The dragon wasn't bothering him and he was too tired to get up and follow. At least not until he'd catch his breath.

His body was shaking, not just because of the cold. He stayed there not caring as the dragon walked off with a huff and its tail landed on his belly. Snotlout gasped but remained still. It was heavy but he was able to manage as it slid off.

The Jorgenson closed his eyes, breathing in deeply then softly out. He could hear some terrible terrors mewing in the distance. Most likely a clutch of hatchlings that were hungry and calling for their parents.

He could hear the water fall colliding roughly with the pond and some birds chirping. The boy looked over, still breathing heavily, seeing the dragon was eating its fish it just caught before turning his way which made Snotlout look away quickly.

He shivered, it was getting colder and the floor beneath him soaked with ocean water. He looked towards the trees. Maybe he could make a boat. Yeah, that sounded like a good idea and he could show he didn't need the dragon to go back home anyway.

He was about to sit up before he felt the ground shake beneath him as the Monsterous Nightmare loudly stomped towards him, as if upset.

The viking had sat up, looking towards the obviously iritated dragon and crawled backwards, waving one of his hands. "W-what now, Huh?!"

He kept crawling backwards until he hit a tree, his unprotected head hit it first and he hissed as his hand went up to massage it.

The wyvern trapped him on each side with its large wings. It looked like the dragon had something in it mouth and before Snotlout could comment on how the dragon looked like the fat Yaks that gorged their faces, its mouth opened, making the Jorgenson sheild his head..

Fish fell and hit his shoulders and Snotlout shook as saliva stuck to his arms from some that fell onto the ground. "WhaT IN THORS NAME?!"

The Dragon looked at the Jorgenson disbelieving. What, the food it caught wasn't good enough for an apology? It's snout gripped the hem of Snotlouts shirt and tugged, making him go quiet.

The viking glimpsed towards the wyverns eyes that nodded in the direction of the fish before sitting back up, waiting expectantly.

"Oh, Hell No! Haha, yeah, noope I had a big meal earlier today and I am full, So nO Thanks." The Jorgenson lied, he wasn't able to get anything to eat as they were all flying to save Hiccups father and their tribes best warriors.

Who had time for food?

Snotlout froze when he heard the faint sound of growling. "No! I said no!" He crossed his arms, some slime spread over him as he moved and glared, some of his hair was getting in his face. "You've already thrown me around! What else do you want from me!?"

The Monsterous Nightmare raised its head then opened its mouth then snapped shut. The sound it made, made the viking flinch. "N-no!" Snotlout looked at all the fish on the floor and swallowed, "No way! It looks worse than my dad's food! And I'd rather not throw up on the ride home to Berk!"

The Dragon raised its wings and slammed into the ground making dirt fly. The Jorgenson didn't even know he had picked up the fish so quickly until he had it inches from his mouth.

"Oh come on, you, you can't expect me to-" The growl he got in conformation made his shoulders slump. "Ok, ok.." The Jorgenson took a deep breath and bit into the small fish he had grabbed. When he had pulled it away a string of saliva was seen and he had quickly closed his eyes and wiped his mouth.

He kept holding his breath as he chewed, the dragon made sure he had actually taken a bite before worbleing happily. The boy gulped it down with no problem and opened his eyes. "Don't make me do that... ever again."

The wyvern looked as if it was smirking, before looking at the food again. Snotlout didn't need to understand the beast to know what that meant. "NO! I'm not finishing it! Here you eat it!" The Jorgenson shoved the fish into the dragons face and shook his arms.

Before the Jorgenson knew it the dragons tongue had licked it out of his hands and swallowed it. The boy groaned, "You know that's disgusting." He had to wipe off the excess fish and drool on the grass before deciding that wasn't working and wiped it on his pants.

He felt sticky, wet, sick and cold now and the dragon still just kept looking at him. The viking rolled his eyes and picked up another fish, waving it in the wyverns face before handing it over. Which the dragon gladly took from his hand. "Hey, uh, dragon?"

The boy continued picking up the fish and handing it to the wyvern who was looking happier than ever. The viking couldn't help but smile, thinking it was cool feeding a ferocious Monsterous Nightmare.

The Jogenson kept picking up bass and catfish, his hands were getting drool everywhere and each time he'd wipe his hands to try and get it off the Nightmare would nudge his hand, getting him to pick up another fish and hand feeding him.

"Don't get used to this.." He picked up a headless fish and dangled it. "Jeez poor dude, look at it." The dragon worbled before taking the bass, holding in its mouth for a moment before throwing it in the air and catching it. "Your tongue is nasty."

The wyvern ignored the comment and continued eating, being careful not to bite the boys hands as his tongue continue to lick up the fish..

Snotlout looked around then back thinking that this would be a good time to name it. Was it a boy dragon or a girl dragon? Eh, he'd name it whatever would pop into his head.

"Well, uh, I can't keep on calling you dragon. So, uh, what about Sparkfire?" The dragon stopped before he could grab another fish and growled, making Snotlout jump back.

"Ok! Ok! Not that one! Uhm." He scratched the back of his head and regretted it immediately when drool spread. "Eeww! Gross!"

The dragon looked up and snorted, watching as the boy tried wiping it off on his chest before trying to stand just to slip on a trout.

The dragons laughter spread through the forest and the boy just glared before throwing the spit on the dragons snout. "See how you like it."

Before the boy even knew it he was shoved up against the tree as the wyverns tongue lapped at his face.

Snotlout cried out, trying to shove the dragon away as he loudly proclaimed how disgusting this was. The boy tried shoving the face away and quickly found out even with him trying as hard as he could, wasn't able to.

"Eew, Gross! Noo Ack!" Snotlout choked on some drool and coughed. "I SWALLOWED IT!" The Monsterous Nightmare stopped and allowed Snotlout to push away before worbleing and watching him gag obnoxiously.

"Eew! GROSS! GODS! WHY?!" The Monsterous Nightmare continued worbleing and stared as Snotlout stupidly tried wiping it off his tongue with his hands just to get more in his mouth.

Snotlout heaved and leaned forward spitting out all he could before sitting back against the tree. "This is your fault."

The dragon rolled its eyes and licked him one more time, the boy had tried looking away but was too late as the wyverns tongue ran from the bottom of his chin to the top of his hair.

Snotlouts locks stuck up and stayed there. The Jorgenson was fuming and before he could say anything the dragon was already grabbing a fish and placing it right in his lap.

The Jorgenson couldn't even wipe it off unless he wanted it to spread more and so he painstakingly left it there and frustratingly picked up the fish grumbling.

He continued frowning before he heard the dragon worble and nip his belly. What followed after was surprised laughter that escaped his mouth.

The beast had stopped immediately and looked up at the Jorgenson. They stared for a moment and Snotlout had immediately pushed the wyvern off and shoved the fish in its mouth.

The boy quickly changed the subject while tugging his legs up to protect his belly when it looked like the dragon was about to make a second attempt to make that sound escape the viking again.

"Well, if you don't like Sparkfire," He picked up another fish and passed it over, the dragon took it from him, looking down towards the boy then to the fish again. "Then what about Foulbreath? Cause your breath stinks!"

The wyvern rolled its eyes and watched Snotlout pick up a bass, "Ok, not that one either." The boy tossed it in his hands unknowingly making the dragon follow it open mouthed with its tongue out, trying to get it.

Snotlout stopped and looked the dragon up and down. His eyes landed on the dragons large fang as its tongue again took the food from his hand.

"W-what about Snaggletooth?" The Monsterous Nightmare huffed and turned away, done with the dumb names. "Ok not that either.. " Snotlout crossed his legs, pressing a finger to his lips a bit disappointed that the Monsterous Nightmare was walking off.

"Uh, what, what about Hookfang?"

The dragon had turned around so quickly Snotlout had thought he had said something wrong.

The beast ran towards him as if he was a sheep about to be mauled by a wolf, making Snotlout jump up from where he was sitting and turn around just to be met with the same tree he was leaning on.

He hit it full force, knocking him onto the ground. He scrambled to get up, his feet were trying to find leverage as his arms waved in the air, "OK! OK YOU DONT LIKE THAT NAME OR ANY OF MY NAMES! I'LL STOP TALKING, I'LL STOP TALKING!!"

The Monsterous Nightmare leaned over him and rotated his head so it wasn't looking the viking upside down and grabbed him by his torn tunic from his earlier abuse.

"NO!! I DONT WANT TO DO THAT AGAIN!" The dragon ignored his cries and sat the struggling viking on the ground. It was pretty comedic on how his legs would move but wouldn't go anywhere and his hands were uselessly shoving on the Nightmares snout.

The Dragon had to force the rider on his back, regretting what it did earlier and worbled softly, having to pin the rider under its winged claws.

The beast cooed pushing the bottom of his snout on the top of the boys still wet hair and rubbed affectionately, making the Jorgenson stop pushing on the talons that continued to pin him to the ground.

"I, I thought you," The boys voice was quiet, the dragon lifted its wing and nudged the viking, making him sit up. "Jeez, if you don't like the names just say so, don't grab me." He covered his face, embarrassed.

The dragon rolled its eyes and worbled, shoving its teeth in front of the boy. "What?" The viking looked at the teeth, shaking from the cold as well as the heart attack he just experienced.

Snotlout shakily lifted his hand and touched the large tooth. He traced over the sharp edges till he poked the tip curiously. The slightest tap and his finger started bleeding.

The Jorgenson immediately stuck his finger in his mouth regretting it since his hand still tasted like fish.

He pulled it out while grumbling soflty, "I still think Snaggletooth and Hookfang sound cool..." as the boy said its name the dragon worbled and shoved the boy down.

It was quite harsh even though he meant it to be affectionate, but the, "Ow! Ok ok! I get it you don't like the names!" lack of communication was frustrating.

The dragon huffed a puff of smoke leaving its nostrils as it looked away towards the drop of the cliff that revealed the ocean, seeing the armada pass with what looked like the dragons flying over it.

The Jorgenson seemed oblivious and was ranting incredulously on how he couldn't believe the dragon didn't like the names he's chosen.

His hands were waving in the air and then pointing to himself and then pointing to the wyvern before pointing at himself again.

"Hey, are you listening." The dragon turned back to him with an eye raised. "I said, I don't care if you don't like the name Hookfang. I'm going to call you that, got it?" The Jorgenson crossed his arms as if he was some immovable object.

Hookfang couldn't feel any happier.

"By the way are you a guy or a girl?" Hookfangs face dropped and growled, pushing the boy and forcibly hooking his worn tunic with its horn on its snout and lifted him up. "Its not, not like there's anything wrong with a girl dragon.."

The wyvern unhooked it's horn and started walking to the cliffs edge, a viking following behind as his hands waved. "It's just, If you're a girl I'm switching you out with a guy."

Hookfang turned around, could this human just stop talking?

"Cause, I can't deal with another Astrid." At that moment Snotlout looked up seeing the boats and pointed, "Hey, look Hookfang! It's the Armada." The dragon looked at him annoyed.

It was a long minute as Snotlout smiled with his hands on his hips. It was as if he was in a daze, the ships were slowly but surely making their way back to Berk, before his eyes widened in recognition. "It's the Armada!"

The Jorgenson yelled, "Look, Hookfang look! Haha! I found it all by myself." Before putting his hands on his hips again and looking at his dragon smugly. "Man, your no help."

Hookfang turned his head slowly and made contact with Snotlouts, a smirk forming on his snout. "Uuuh." The boy looked towards the ocean then slowly to Hookfang, "Yeah, no, uhm." He raised his hand to his head, it was bare and his eyes widened, remembering his helmet.

"My helmet!" The viking turned around so fast and ran back to the lake. It was discarded not that far from the water and covered up in mud and so he picked it up and walked back over to the pond.

He washed his helmet off and gave a wink to his own reflection before straightening one of the horns.

Hookfang slowly stalked behind him, thinking the Jorgenson couldn't see him as he opened his mouth to grab him.

The reflection in Snotlouts helmet gave Hookfang away and the viking had immediately rolled out of the way, mud soaked his tunic, pants and hair but it seemed the boy didn't care as he pointed at his dragon, laughing mockingly.

"Haha! Nice try!" Snotlout had pointed with the helmet in his hand before putting it on. "I'm," He pointed to himself with his thumbs, "Gonna make a boat!" He turned around on the tip of his heel and began to stride towards the forest before his tunic got grabbed.

It all happened so fast as he was hoisted up and dangled over the cliffs edge. His hands grabbed a hold of his dragons snout instantly and started to curse all forms of profanities.

"Wait! Wait! No!" He kicked his legs. "No, I, let me go!" Hookfang disregarded the boys shouting and began its decent towards the ocean. "Not AGAIN! HOOKFAANG!"

Hookfang dived down, looking at the boy who had his knees curled up to his stomach with his hands grabbing his helmet, keeping it on his head while his eyes were shut.

The shrieking continued until Hookfang spread his wings and leveled with the ocean. The wyvern could feel the trembleing form of the viking and shook him barely to get him to open his eyes.

"No! No, nuh uh!" The boy stubbornly kept his eyes closed. Hookfang rolled his eyes and decided he'd throw him this one more time.

He threw him up high, watching as the boys eyes opened and his body straightened out before falling onto the dragons back all while screaming.

Snotlout immediately grabbed the large fin. "What did I do this time?! Seriously!" His sky blues met with Hookfangs and the dragon worbled.

"Uh yeah, I don't understand!" He waved an arm before quickly grabbing the fin again. His head ducked slightly.

He couldn't stop his body from shaking and since Hookfang didn't do anything else, he had thought the dragon was going to leave him be until they got to the boats.

Water splashed on his face and he had looked up. They still weren't heading to where the armada was going.

The boy heard his dragon coo which made him look over. Hookfang motioned its eyes to the water. When he looked he was met with beautiful looking fish, living in a coral reef.

Even the fish were beautiful colors. Hookfang watched the viking for a moment as he let go of the fin and layed on his belly pointing to a large blue and red fish, that swam quickly into one of the polyps.

The water was the clearest he's ever seen and the boy scooted himself further to see the vibrant colors, forgetting about the security of holding the fin.

"Whoa.."

Hookfang worbled and flapped his large wings hard which made the water fly up in the air, making the boy laugh as some fell on his face.

He tried reaching for it. Tried to touch it but wasn't able to and retracted back, feeling content even if he wasn't able to touch it.

That's when he heard a short grunt. He looked over, watching as the wyvern shook its horns. Signaling the Jorgenson to walk on over.

"No thanks, I'm good here." Hookfang growled, his wings flapped again and turned into a glide as he turned his head as if he was going to grab the boy which made the viking shout.

"Okay! Okay! Fine! No! No grabbing! I'll go! Jeez.." Snotlout stood up slowly and held his arms out, the wind blew on him once and he knelt back down. Shaking his head no before getting up once again. A determined look spread across his face as he balanced on his dragons neck.

One step after the other, Snotlout made his way to his destination. He stayed focused, nearly falling but Hookfang helped by gliding in the way the Jorgenson was tilting.

Once he had grabbed Hookfangs horns and knew he had made it, he yelled triumphantly, "Snotlout, Snotlout, Oi Oi Oi!" All the while pumping his arms in the air as the Monsterous Nightmare flapped its wings again and leaned to the right.

The Jorgenson smiled and happily reached for the water. His hand traced the top of the ocean and the smile Hookfang was witnessing was well worth it.

The wyvern was steadily descending farther down until the water had reached the boys feet. "Whoa, wait!" The dragon worbled gently before looking at him with wide circled eyes.

Snotlout sighed and took a deep breath before his head went under.

When he had opened his eyes it hurt for a moment and it was slightly blurry the farther he looked but it was so beautiful.

The boy didn't think he'd like the colors pink or purple but as they went deeper in and the colors shown brightly as the sun rays beat into the ocean floor, leaving streaks of light glistening on the sand and coral.

It wasn't just pink or purple, there was many other colors that were pretty but didn't catch his eyes as they did.

Finally, even when he didn't want to leave the water he patted Hookfangs head who immediately went back up and blasted out of the ocean.

The dragons wings spread open and he took off, going higher into the sky. The Jorgenson didn't know what to say. All he could do was hoot and holler his enjoyment before the dragon had leveled out again. Heading in the direction the other riders and the boats were.

Snotlout had leaned over and set his forearms on top of the dragons eyes then leaned his head down, yawning deeply before scratching a spot which made Hookfang coo.

The Dragon worbled, delighted and caught up with the other dragons.

"Hey Snotty!" The Jorgenson had sat back up quickly and looked up to where the twins were flying upside down above him.

"How?" Ruffnut interupted, "You look like a mess! Did you almost die?!" The twin had put her hands together with an evil grin while her legs wrapped around the Hideous Zipplebacks neck.

"Of course not!" Snotlout had crossed his arms staring up at the twins before the Zippleback rolled to the right and ended up beside Hookfang and Snotlout.

The Monsterous Nightmare growled, and Snotlout felt his scales starting to heat up and so he started massaging his head. Not knowing if that would help or not.

The Zippleback didn't look comfortable getting so close to the Nightmare as the twins began arguing with eachother.

Snotlout waved his free hand in their direction. "Why are you guys even asking that?" They both spoke at the same time. "We both made a bet."

The male twin smiled, "Well, he's proof enough" Tuffnut pointed towards him, "I win Ruff." Snotlout watched as Ruffnut groaned.

"Wait he wins what? What are you guys talking about?" The twins smiled mischievously. "We made a bet if you had died or not."

Snotlout glared angrily, "I said you would survive and be ok, while Ruffnut said you wouldn't come back at all. So I won!" The Jorgenson sighed, "Are you guys serious?"

"Do we look serious." Snotlout stared at them with a monotone expression for a moment before he went to answer but was interupted. "Actually don't answer that. Anyways, good to see you're alive and well. See ya."

One of the Zipplebacks heads sparked making Hookfang look towards it quickly, making Snotlout nearly fall before the twins dragons started hackeling and twirled in air spreading its wings to be blown back to their original spot.

Snotlouts leaned forward, worry in his eyes, looking at his dragons slitted pupils before they turned into circles, looking up at him. "You ok, Hookfang?"

The beast responded with a shake of his head before rolling its eyes and rumbled. The Jorgenson leaned down and crossed his arms over Hookfangs head.

Berk was in sight but it would still take hours to get there since the boats were slow.

So the Jorgenson decided it was time for a well deserved nap. Unconsciously scratching his dragons head, before falling asleep.
