Chapter 1 ; Prologue

Disclaimer; I do not own any of the characters in the owl house. I am not Dana Terrace.

Present Day

It was a sombre day at the owl house. No one was feeling particularly active. Luz had just destroyed the portal, and Lilith and Eda no longer have magic. Suddenly, a bright white light engulfed them all. “What now…” Eda mutters to herself while they all saw that they were in a white room with several people, mostly Hexside students. 

Luz looked at them and waved dejectedly at them, with several students muttering why they were here. Seeing Luz, Willow, Gus and Amity quickly went over and started comforting her while Luz gave a weak smile signalling that she was doing okay. 

“Mija, what’s wrong, what is this place? Who are these people? Luz looks up at her mother, Camila Noceda and quickly runs over to her and starts crying. Camila quickly embraces her daughter and starts comforting her, telling her that everything will be okay.

“You must be Luz’s mother, I’m Edalyn Clawthrone. Your daughter’s mentor.” Eda introduced herself to Camila. ‘Who is she Luz, and why is she saying that she’s your mentor?’ Camila asked Luz when she saw Eda. However, before Luz could answer, they were all blinded by another white light. After the light subsided, they saw a group of 5 women who four of them suspiciously looked very similar to Luz, Amity, Eda and Camila.

The Future (2030)

It was an exciting day at the owl house as little Azura was celebrating her 5th birthday. ‘Azura honey, stop running around, you don’t wanna look bad during your party do you?’ Luz called out. As Luz gently smartened Azura up, Amity walked in. ‘Love, I told you we should have thought of another way to keep her occupied instead of letting her play with Owlbert ’ Amity said as she kissed Luz on the lips. But before Luz could respond they were enveloped in a bright white light and were suddenly standing in front of their younger selves.

Present Day

'Who are you people?' Lilith enquired. Before they could respond, a woman suddenly appeared out of nowhere. The woman had round glasses and was wearing an off-shoulder white top and jeans.

'Don’t worry, all will be answered in good time. Let me introduce myself. My name is Alyssa and I'm an Author.’ Alyssa cheerfully said. 

‘An author? So you write stories? How many stories have you written so far?’ Luz curiously enquired as Eda came up front.

‘Well… this is my first time writing, and strictly speaking, I am not even trained enough to do something of this scale. I had to ask my friend to assist with pulling you guys here.’ Alyssa said with a blush. 

‘Luz, stay away from her. Authors are interdimensional beings that live outside of time and space. They amuse themselves by toying with people whose stories they like. From what I know they appear as normal people acting as avatars so they can interact with us.’ Eda gave a school-like talk on Authors while standing protectively in front of Luz.

‘What Eda said is true. I am an Author, I have chosen this form to act as an avatar of my true form; what we call an Author avatar. I was in the middle of reading other Authors' works when I finally decided to stop procrastinating and finally write a story.’ Alyssa said as she spread her arms out in a dramatic way. ‘We Authors have knowledge of every universe’s past, present and future. And whenever we feel like it, we pull characters from said universes to learn of their future. All of you are characters from a fictional show titled “The Owl House”. You are all here to watch the show’ Alyssa explained.

‘Wait so are you saying that I’m a main character in a TV show?’ Luz asked excitedly, all her previous dejectedness all but forgotten. While all the Hexside students muttered within themselves, interested to learn more about the only human in the Boiling Isles.

‘You got it right in one. You are the main character of the Owl House with the 2nd season just entering its mid-season hiatus. Most of the fandom wanted 3 seasons but the higher ups in the House of Mouse only allowed 2 seasons with a 3rd having only 3 specials.’ Alyssa told her.

‘Wait, House of Mouse!? Are you telling me that not only do I get to star as the main character in a cartoon but it’s a cartoon on Disney!?’ Luz asked excitedly as Alyssa just gave her a nod. ‘It's official, this is the coolest thing that’s ever happened to me other than meeting Eda.’ Luz said as Eda was touched after hearing that.

‘Why are we here? And yet again who are those five?’ Lilith said as she pointed toward the five people standing in the corner. 

The first woman had dark brown hair in somewhat of a bob cut with chocolate tan skin. She was stripped purple and white shirt with a dark purple jacket and a crescent moon necklace. She had a kid around 5 years old on her back. The child had vibrant gold eyes with dark brown hair like the woman carrying her.

The second woman had lavender-purple hair that was tied up in a ponytail with a crystal-style hair band. She also had an undercut that showed her brown roots. She was wearing a mechanic's outfit dirty with some abomination goo.

The third woman had dark brown hair just like the first. She had simple framed glasses and was wearing a simple veterinary outfit with a brown overcoat draped over top. She looked to be in her late 30s.

The last woman looked practically identical to Eda. She looked older, and no longer had a discoloured eye though her hair was still greyed out. She wore a beautiful crimson red dress and had a hook for one hand.

All four women had beautiful gold rings with a unique gemstone for each one of them. 

‘Now if you all are done staring, they are quite simply you. Well you from the future but nonetheless you. I will allow them to introduce themselves and we will proceed on with the show.’ Alyssa said as a massive grin appeared on her face. 

‘Well, nice to meet everyone. I am Luz Clawthrone. Here we have Amity Clawthrone, my wife, and the little cutie in my arms is Azura, our daughter. Mama Eda and my mom Camila Clawthrone. We are all from the year 2030.’ Luz stated, pointing at each person as she stated their names. 

‘Amity and I got married in 2024 alongside Eda and my mom. Eda also adopted me and we all changed our name to Clawthrone. Shortly after that, we had Azura in 2025.’ Luz said as she smiled thinking back on her memories.

‘Only you could find a way to meet your apprentice’s mother and marry them shortly’ Lilith said with a chuckle. Upon hearing this, both Edas glared at their sister while unsuccessfully trying to hide their blushes. 

Luz and Amity were completely red as they quickly looked away from each other while Luz and Amity chuckled softly at the sight of their younger selves. 

‘As much as I hate interrupting Lumity goodness, we have to get a move on. Everyone, please sit in your assigned seats,’ She said as she waved her hands, expanding the room they were in into a massive theatre. 

Everyone quickly got into their seats. Luz, Amity, Eda and Camila quickly blushed again, realising that they were seated next to their ‘wives’. As everyone settled down again, Alyssa started speaking again.‘Now, without further ado, this is The Owl House, season 1, episode 1, A Lying Witch and A Warden.’

Hi I know everyone hates author notes but just wanted inform everyone that I will now be posting again. My finals are over (Hopefully I did well), Chapter 2 should hopefully be released sometime next week. I will try my best to keep updates at the very least once every 2 weeks (No promises though). Anyways that's all, Alyssa signing out.

Chapter 2; A Lying Witch And A Warden

Again, I’m not Dana Terrace.

‘Now, without further ado, this is The Owl House, season 1, episode 1, A Lying Witch and A Warden .’

Upon hearing this title, both Edas paled immediately and shot an apologetic glance towards their respective Camilas while both Luzs just groaned looking sheepishly at their mothers. Camila just sighed and proceeded to kiss Eda on the lips and Luz on the cheeks.

‘What is about to happen in this episode?’ Camila asked as she cast a suspicious glance towards Eda. 

‘Sorry Mom, no spoilers’ both Luzs said together with a nervous laugh. At this, Camila just sighed while Camila just chuckled softly.

Alyssa too chuckled softly, vanishing as the screen started to light up while the room dimmed.

The good witch Azura is faced off by a giant gilder snake. It calls her a foolish child, saying that it will swallow her whole.

The audience had not expected this. Wasn’t this supposed to be about the human and the Owl Lady? But every member of the Azura Book Club was too busy getting excited about Azura to be bothered by it. 

Azura tells the gilder snake to not underestimate her as she is the Good Witch Azura, Warrior of Peace. To which, she takes her magic staff and fires it like a bazooka while screaming ‘NOW EAT THIS SUCKA’ at the gildersnake.

Azura fans from the demon realm were just drooling at the animation. 

The gilder snake is hit by the bazooka, screaming that dying is his only weakness. 

‘I’m pretty sure dying is everyone’s weakness.’ Amity told Luz as Luz just gave her a questioning look as to how she knew this was a story she made up.

‘Well, it is your voice narrating after all.’ Amity said with a chuckle while Luz just blushed. 

It shows Luz holding her Azura figurine with a live snake to re-enact her book report with her principal and her mother Camila standing off to the side, thinking that she has knocked it out of the park.

‘I didn’t expect the human realm to also have Azura toys.’ Gus said amazed as every member of the Azura book club looked at her.

Principal Hal said that her book report was the reason why Luz was in trouble in the first place while pointing at the hallway where many students are seen running around with snakes chasing them.

‘I never asked but where did you even get those snakes in the first place?’ Camila asked, casting a glance towards her daughter. Luz just smiled nervously while Luz just shook her head, reminiscing her old memories.

Camila proceeds to hold up a massive firework rocket asking Luz what she is going to do with this Luz just dejectedly answers that it was for her act three closer.

‘You know, scratch that, I don’t need to know where you got the snakes. I just wanna know where you got the fireworks.’ Camila said as Luz just muttered an apology sheepishly.

‘Don’t worry, I will gladly tell you later. I never got to punish her for having those things in the first place anyway.’ Camila said calmly with a mischievous glint in her eyes that made both Luz's sweat.

The Human Appreciation Society members perked up as they all turned to Luz for an answer. She just said ‘It's like a fire spell but more colourful and it explodes.’

‘Not to mention highly dangerous and illegal... ‘ Camila said with a sigh. Eda just perked up at the word illegal and made a note to talk to Luz about it later.

Luz looks down as Camila kneels telling her that she loves her creativity but it has gotten out of hand.

Camila just sighed and pulled Luz into a hug saying that she was sorry. Amity just looks at the scene with a hint of jealousy, hopelessly wishing that her mom would be nicer.

Camila asks Luz if she remembers the last three times she was sent to the principal’s office.

Eda was interested in knowing what her apprentice got up to in her human school.

Luz has a flashback, recalling what happened the last three times. Luz was wearing a pretty green dress, pretending to stab herself with a spork and she pulled out a long string of sausages, depicting guts. 

‘It’s a human play about two families who hate each other but their two children fall in love. The girl fakes her death but the boy doesn’t realise she faked it and kills himself. Shortly after the girl kills herself as well.’ Luz answered, sensing the unasked question.

Luz is not seen making a model of a baby griffin, saying the last anatomical part is spider breath as many spiders were seen crawling out of its beak.

‘Hmph, all the students laughed at me. Little did they know that I got the last laugh…’ Luz mutters to herself, unknowingly, Luz was doing the same thing.

Now Luz is seen at a cheerleading tryout, as she flips her eyelids inside out after a girl lands a flip.

Everyone at Hexside was appalled that she had gotten into trouble for doing that… It was a topic in an elective they could take after all.

‘Seriously… that’s all that happened and you got sent to the principal for all of them!?’ Eda exclaimed looking angry. ‘I certainly got into much more trouble in school, and have the mental agony of having to clean up my mess afterwards…’ Eda half shouted.

‘Oh Edalyn, that very much is an understatement. You were practically the worst student in Hexside’s entire history.’ Lilith said while chuckling at her statement. Camila was just thinking about how on earth did she end up marrying her. 

Camila says that she loves how Luz expresses herself but said that if she couldn’t separate fantasy from reality, she would have to spend a summer at a place called “Reality Check Summer Camp” with its motto being “Think Inside the Box” while handing Luz a pamphlet.

Camila thought back on her actions, thinking of what would have happened if Luz had been sent to camp. Would she have come back a different person?

Luz tells her mother not to worry and that she won’t let her down. She stands up and screams No More Weirdness as her snake wakes up and attacks Principal Hal. After that, it shows Luz in front of her house, about to go to camp.

‘Luz, why didn’t you resist and show them your awesome glyph skills? After that take control of the whole school’ King asked with an innocent-looking face.

‘King, buddy, I didn’t want to further disappoint my mom than I already had. I know it's not easy taking care of a kid like me. And besides, I didn’t know about glyphs yet. I was in the human realm, remember?’ Luz softly said back as Camila cringed at how sad and dejected Luz looked on screen.

Camila tells her not to worry about summer camp as she will be so busy balancing chequebooks and learning to appreciate public radio that the time will fly by.

Everyone just groaned at how boring that sounded. ‘Who were you trying to convince, yourself or your daughter.’ Eda cheekily said to tease Camila while Camila just blushed.

Luz just says that she doesn’t like any of that stuff and that she likes editing anime clips and reading fantasy books with convoluted backstories as she takes out her Azura book.

Most residents from the demon realm were just asking what anime was. Upon hearing this, Luz asked ‘Wait, do you guys only have Azura books as fantasy books? No TV no cartoons no nothing?’

‘Well, we do have other fantasy stuff but the only ‘readable’ one is the Azura series’ Amity promptly stated. ‘Don’t worry little me, Amity and I took care of the lack of entertainment in the boiling isles after I took her to the human realm.’ Luz said grinning.

Camila tells her that her fantasy world is holding her back and that she doesn’t have any friends as Luz sets her Azura book into the trash can.

The Azura fans were just aghast that she would do such a thing while Eda, not able to take it anymore, just screamed ‘Oh come on Cami, can’t you see the camp is just like the conformatorium… Granted it's without the prison aspect but you get the point. How could you ever think of sending our daughter there? The only good thing that came out of it was you meeting Vee and me meeting Luz.’ momentarily forgetting this wasn't her Camila.

‘ I never wanted her to give up her interests or creativity, just tone it down and learn to separate fantasy from reality. I am sorry that I gave you the impression that you had to throw your book away to make me happy.’ Camila said sadly. 

‘Wait a minute, who is Vee?’ Luz asked curiously. ‘Oh yeah, you guys are from right after Luz destroyed the portal. You guys don’t know about Vee yet. Luz you will meet her when you start to re-b… Mhpm.’ Before Eda could finish, she was silenced when Alyssa suddenly appeared again. 

‘Hi everyone, I’m back. Now as to why Eda can’t finish her sentence, I forgot to mention that I have made it so that any major plot point in the show, things that aren’t known to those from 2020, will be unable to be spoken of. And uhm to avoid… conflict, I will be disabling everyone’s powers.’ As they heard this, all the witches in the room immediately tried to do spells but as Alyssa said, found themselves unable to. 

‘Now because I just straight up binged the whole of Loki and What If, I’m super bored so I’m gonna be staying here for a few episodes. Oh and before I forget, say hello to Vee .’ Alyssa said cheerily as she snapped her fingers and suddenly someone who looked a lot like Luz appeared in front of them.

Vee had long hair, basilisk ears, black eyes with a yellow centre and was wearing a T-shirt that had a logo on it with half the face of a Titan and Earth. 

‘Hello everyone, I’m Vee .’ Vee said shyly as she just proceeded to sit next to Azura. Azura suddenly woke up and cheerfully yelled ‘Aunty Vee, did you bring me toys?’

Everyone just cooed at the sight. Amity just fondly shook her head, Azura had always liked Vee .

Camila gets a new notification on her phone and says that she has to go to work. She asks Luz to text her when she gets to camp and proceeds to quickly say something in Spanish, kissing Luz on the cheek as she leaves.

‘She was just wishing me good luck and telling me to take care of myself.’ Most of the audience was grateful for the translation. Though those from the future needed no translation as Luz made it the first thing Amity learned after they got married.

Luz tells her goodbye and immediately runs back to the trash can looking for her Azura book and notices it's not there. She then notices Owlbert with a sack that has her book in it and proceeds to chase Owlbert.

Owlbert pops off Eda’s staff and proceeds to nuzzle Luz. ‘Don’t worry buddy, I’m happy that you did it. Because if not I wouldn’t have got to meet the rest of my amazing family.’ Luz said. 

Luz stumbles upon a rickety old wooden house. Luz chases her in and a sudden bright yellow light fills the screen. 

‘No no no no, please don’t tell me you didn’t even make it into camp. Then who was that person that I met and drove to camp, who was that person I’ve been talking to the whole time.’ Camila said, breathing heavily, finally not able to deny that her daughter was not where she was supposed to be and that she had spent the whole summer in some demon realm.

Alyssa seeing this quickly paused the show and sighed, ‘Sorry I should have given you more time to process all of this. Just holler my name when you’re done.’ She proceeded to snap her fingers, Luz, Eda and Camila alongside those from the future except Vee and Azura were enveloped in a white bubble. ‘Now as they are talking about stuff, who’s up for a game of Scrabble.’ Alyssa said as she made several Scrabble boards appear. Lilith just facepalmed at her nonchalant attitude.

Inside the Bubble

It took a while for Camila to calm down. She finally got out, ‘So who was the one writing letters to me the whole time, was it you?’ she said pointing at Vee . 

‘I don’t know how much we can tell you without spoiling anything but yes, she… I… we both went to the boiling isles at that moment.’ Luz said with a grimace. 

‘Ok listen, we can’t tell you much but just don’t get super mad at Eda or Eda for stuff they’ve done. It took me a while to understand why they do what they do so just keep an open mind.’ Camila told her younger self. 

‘Fine I don’t like the sound of that but for Luz, I will try to keep an open mind.’ Camila said with a sigh.

While those four were talking, both Edas and Amitys were having their conversations.

‘Wait so did we get rid of the curse? I see that your eyes are back to normal.’ Eda asked, finally seeing a glimmer of hope after years of her mother promising a cure.

‘I’m sorry younger me, I’m just wearing a contact lens. It’s a human thing. I wear it whenever I’m not in my h… mmph. Damn, spell. Like I said I wear it when I’m out and about.’ Eda reluctantly said.

‘Perhaps we can ask Alyssa to help remove the curse from Lillie and us?’  Eda asked, still hopeful. ‘I’m sure she’d do it if we asked. Though I would hold off on asking till we at least watch the whole show.’ Eda said mysteriously.

‘So uhm, why is my… your hair purple and down to your shoulders? Not that I hate it, I love it but I know for a fact that Mother would never have allowed this to happen. She’s too worried about us looking perfect.’ Amity said with a scowl. 

‘Well, things are much different in the future. Sadly I can’t say much due to the spell but long story short, she had to put up with it. I mean you certainly won’t see Luz arguing about it. I should know, after all, I am married to her.’ Amity said with a smirk as Amity just blushed again at the reminder that she ended up marrying Luz.

‘If you want to, we could ask Alyssa to change your hair now.’ Amity asked her younger self. At the question Amity just shook her head saying that she wanted to think about it first.

‘Now I got that out of the way, introduce me to Azura. There is no time better than the present to get to know my future daughter. Titan, that is weird to say.’ Amity said with a chuckle. 

‘Don’t worry I’m sure you will get to spend a lot of time with Azura soon. Besides, she is sleeping now and I’m sure Luz is eager to meet her little rascal too.’ Amity said smirking the whole time.

‘Is everyone done?’ Amity asked. After a few moments of silence, she simply called on Alyssa. In a split second, they were all confronted with quite an odd sight in the theatre. At the sight, Luz , Amity and Eda just raised an eyebrow. 

‘What? We got bored, you didn’t expect us to sit around all day did you? Now, I assume that all existential crises are over, let us continue.’ Alyssa said, snapping her fingers and allowing the screen to continue playing.

The scene cuts to a different location where a suitcase suddenly appears out of nowhere and unfolds into a door which opens and out comes Owlbert, chased by Luz telling him to stop adorably hopping away as she looks around taking in her new surroundings. 

Seeing this location again, Vee winced as she recalled what she had done here. Luz seeing her sister acting this way hugged her and said that no harm was done. In fact, a lot of good was done instead. 

Luz says that she thought she owned weird stuff thinking that this was even weirder as she picked up a misshapen doll that suddenly moves as she hears Eda in the background. 

‘Eda, why was that doll moving?’ Camila asked, frowning. ‘Hey don’t ask me, all that stuff is from your realm.’ Eda said with a shrug. Luz and Luz were just baffled at how they missed the doll moving. 

Luz looks behind the curtain and sees Eda looking through the bag that Owlbert was dragging after she attached Owlbert back onto her staff. 

‘Eda, I never asked but is a palisman considered alive and can they think and be aware of things when they are on the staff?’ Luz asked Eda curiously. Eda just looked at her and shrugged.

‘To answer your question, Luz, technically a palisman is considered an object but screw official documentation. They might as well be considered alive as they are capable of having consciousness and detaching themselves from our staff and acting on their own, and yes they are aware of things even when they are attached.’ Eda surprisingly prompted herself to explain.

‘Oh cool thanks mama Eda . And where’s Owlbert ? I’m sure he would love to hang out with Owlbert.’ Luz asked Eda . 

‘I will answer this question. I just didn’t bring any of the palismans over and Eda before you start panicking about Owlbert don’t worry, both your times outside of this pocket dimension are ‘paused’ so to speak so you don’t have to worry. I will bring all the palismans, well those that aren’t any spoilers, here at the end of season 1. And who knows, I may pull a few more people here as well.’ Alyssa half explained and half said.

Eda proceeds to pull out several items which include, a smartphone, a massive diamond ring and a shining golden chalice which she says are garbage as she pulls out a pair of googly eyeglasses saying that it’ll make her rich. 

At this statement, both Luzs and Camilas were just laughing to themselves. HAS members, except Gus, were just curious as to why they were laughing. The items certainly looked like trash to them as well.

‘Guys, you all forgot what I told you about human valuables again, didn’t you? Ugh, It’s been the 5th time I had to explain it to you guys.’ Gus just groaned to himself while the remaining HAS members just gave him sheepish looks.

‘Don’t worry Gustonimo, I’ve tried my best as well but original thoughts remain.’ Luz said with a sigh wishing she could educate her fellow witches on human culture. 

Eda proceeds to pull out the Azura book saying that it will make good kindling and proceeds to burn it. Luz sees this and rushes up and snatches her book as she runs back to the door which folds up and disappears. The camera pans to Eda saying that Luz won’t be going anywhere.

‘Yeesh sorry kid, I guess I did scare you there. I was just trying to be intimidating.’ Eda said with a grimace as Luz just brushed her off.

Luz puts the book in her bag and escapes through the back of the tent. She reaches a cliffside with buildings down below. The different residents are walking around as Luz asks what is going on as a small fairy comes up to her and Luz asks if she is there to tell her that this is all just a fantastical dream. But it just screams for Luz to give it her skin while baring her massive teeth

Camila was already starting to sweat. If this was what her daughter experienced within her first minute in the boiling isles, what was she going to face during the remaining seasons? 

‘It’s okay Mom, I'm fine. Eda protected me the whole time… well after a few days that is.’ Luz comforted her mom only saying that last part under her breath.

Luz swats away the fairy and thinks that she has died. She is stopped by Eda who says that she wishes she were dead. 

‘Edalyn! How could you say that to a child!’ Lilith exclaimed. Surprisingly, King also said ‘I agree with Lilith here Eda, Luz was freaked out.’ Eda just looked mildly ashamed and apologised to Luz.

Luz proceeds to scream that if Eda was going to eat her she should just do it now. Eda just calmly stated why would she eat a potential customer while Luz was just very confused.

‘What? I mean it's an effective way to attract customers isn’t it?’ Eda said, seeing people in the audience facepalm. 

‘Sure it’s effective but they are more likely to run away and end up attracting unwanted attention to you. By that, I meant the coven guards.’ Alyssa said with a deadpan look. Eda just thought about it and cringed, remembering who came around shortly after. 

Eda proceeds to show Luz various things of human origin with descriptions of their use that were nowhere near the actual use of the item. 

All the humans in the room and from the future just laughed at the descriptions. 

Lastly, Eda shows a TV and says that it’s a shadow box that only reflects sadness. Upon hearing that, Luz just chuckled and said to let her see it. She then proceeds to fix the TV with some batteries that were left in a tray labelled ‘Human Candy’. The TV turns on and starts playing a workout video.

The audience was quickly mesmerised by the technology displayed. Luz and Camila just smirked at their gawking faces. 

The sound emitted quickly attracts many different customers who are all screaming at different prices. Luz introduces herself as Eda and collects all the money the customers are offering while saying that Luz is very clever for a human. 

‘Hey, why’d you hit me?’ Eda moaned as Camila smacked her on the shoulder. ‘That’s for insulting my species.’ Camila retorted. 

Luz says that it's weird for another human to speak like that but Eda pulls off her bandana which reveals her pointy ears, showing that she isn’t human. She introduces herself as Eda The Owl Lady, the most powerful witch on the Boiling Isles.

‘Not anymore I’m not… stupid curse. At least Lillie got to keep some of her magic.’ Eda muttered to herself. ‘Don’t worry Eda, I already said that I would help you learn glyphs and who knows, maybe there are new glyphs that I haven’t discovered yet.’ Luz said with determination. 

‘Yeah Eda, and I the King of Demons, will help you crush your enemies.’ King yelled out.

That proclamation quickly draws the attention of an emperor coven guard who comes and smashes the TV. He shows a wanted poster of Eda saying that she was wanted for misuse of magic and demonic misdemeanours.

‘Now Camila, don’t get all motherly on me yet. Just please see what I was even ‘convicted’ for in the first place.’ Eda frantically said while Lilith just looked at her sister with sadness knowing it was all her fault. 

Camila accepted the argument warily. Again she was mentally questioning herself how she ended up marrying her.

Luz was muttering about Eda being a witch criminal as the guard said that Eda was to come with him to the Conformitorium. The guard says that Luz is to come with him too for fraternising with a criminal.

‘WHAT, if that man lays a finger on my baby girl, so help me or I will do many horrible things to him.’ Camila snarled out.

‘Don’t worry Camila, that are not that dumb as to throw someone of Hexside age into the Conformitorium, I wouldn’t have allowed it. If they had, they’d be losing their job before they could say Titan. And besides, as irresponsible Eda is, she won’t let any harm come to your daughter.’ Lilith reassured her. 

Eda says to give her some time to get her stuff. Instead, she uses her staff to whack the guard as she floats her stuff into a bag clicks her key and stores it. She asks Luz to follow her. As they run, Luz says that her mother would kill her if she died while Eda just reassures her that she won't let anyone hurt her as she is more valuable alive than dead.

‘Glad to know that you take Luz’s life seriously.’ Camila, Gus, Willow and Amity all said sarcastically while glaring at her. 

‘Guys just let Eda off the hook okay, yes we got off on a bad start but we’re a big happy family now. We all have made mistakes.’ Luz said defiantly, ready to defend her surrogate mother in the boiling isles.

Luz was about to ask as Eda lifted her staff, taking Luz by the arm as they escaped, riding the staff like a witch’s broom. The guard yells that she won't get away with this but admits to himself that she did.

At that statement, everyone in the theatre laughed out loud at the guard while Lilith was just muttering about how incompetent the conformatorium guards always were. 

‘The only semi-competent one is Warden Wrath.’ Lilith said. 

‘Well then I think you’re gonna hate this episode, Lillie.’ Alyssa said with a smirk while Lilith just groaned.

As they were flying, Luz had her eyes shut with tears flowing freely. Eda quickly tells her that she can open her eyes now. Luz holds on for dear life and asks Eda where they are. Eda explains that they are in the Boiling Isles, the place where all human mythology originates from due to some of the Boiling Isles leaking into the human realm.

‘Wait I know you said all the myths but so far I don’t see any symbolism for the Greek gods and the other pantheons. From what I picked up so far you guys kind of have a religion based on how you say Titan similar to how we say God.’ Camila said curiously.

‘Well, I am unsure whether we did cause them or not.’ Eda said deep in thought while those from the future just looked at each other unsure whether they should share this information or not.

A massive griffin suddenly flies by and starts spitting out spiders from its beak. Luz was just ecstatic that she was right.

‘See Mom I was right.’ Luz said with a triumphant smirk while Camila just shook her head at her baby girl’s actions.

Eda listed off various mythological creatures which surprisingly included giraffes. Luz was confused till Eda explained that they were banished due to being a bunch of freaks.

‘Before you ask, you do not want to know what happened. I was the lead historian in the Emperor's coven and let's just say that the reason for their banishment was not a nice one.’ Lilith said with a barely concealed shudder before Camila could ask her.

Eda lands her staff and when she gets off, Luz is shocked to see her hands be detached. Luz states that this world isn’t the PG fantasy world that she had envisioned. 

‘I am honestly quite surprised that you said that Luz, I would have thought you’d be ecstatic to be able to experience a magical fantasy world.’ Camila said surprised.

‘I would hold off on the sweeping statements Mom.’ Luz said with a grimace while Camila just narrowed her eyes suspiciously. 

Luz asks Eda if she could help her get back home but Eda agrees but only if Luz helps her first.

Everyone just glares at Eda who is not meeting anyone’s eye. Eda just cringed as she fully recalled what Camila had done when she figured that out.

Eda brings Luz to the Owl House. Luz is worried that the guards will find them but Eda reassures her stating that she has a state-of-the-art defence system. They walk up to the door and Hooty asks for a password. Instead of giving one, Eda pokes him in the eye and tells him to let them in. Hooty just complains that Eda never lets him have any fun. 

‘Why are you so mean to him? He is so nice.’ Camila states. While Lilith just shudders, thinking back on that accursed bird tube.

Hooty then opens his mouth allowing Eda and Luz to walk through before he closes it and burps.

‘Before you get all grossed out, it’s magic don't worry. I only ask him to do that for the new people I bring there anyway.’ Eda said.

Eda welcomes Luz to the Owl House, snapping her fingers, causing some candles to light up, a cauldron and broom to start stirring and sweeping on their own, and a mural on the wall to start glowing. Eda says that it is a place where she hides from the pressures of modern society, the cops and a few ex-boyfriends. 

‘You do know that we’ve always known that you were there right, we just never bothered to send guards there as we know that your accursed birdworm will just slaughter us all.’ Lilith said with a smirk while Eda grimaced, never being more grateful for Hooty since she first met him.

Luz tells Eda it’s beautiful and asks if she lives here all alone. Eda says that she does technically have a roommate as loud thumping can be heard in the background.

‘I wonder who that could be?’ Luz said with a giggle while King just glared at her.

A loud booming voice is heard asking who dares intrude upon the King of Demons as a menacing shadow appears on the wall. However, shortly King walks out wearing a duck shower cap and towel while holding a rubber duck. Luz coos at the sight of King saying that he is adorable. 

‘He is very cute, much like a dog.’ Camila said with a chuckle while those from the future kept quiet due to their knowledge of King’s powers. 

Luz keeps on cooing at King saying who’s a widdle guy while King just screams and asks Eda who was the monster hugging him. Eda introduces Luz to him and says that she is here to help them with their little situation.

‘I certainly do not like the sound of that. Based on what I’ve seen so far this ‘situation’ could be anything.’ Camila said with a glare in Eda’s direction.

Eda explains that King was once a mighty King of demons till his crown of power was stolen by Warden Wrath and that the crown is being kept behind a magical barrier that only a human can break through. 

‘So your so-called ‘situation’ you want MY daughter to handle is for her to steal from a warden so your little buddy can gain his power again.’ Camila yelled at Eda while she shrunk away from the venomous glare that was being sent her way. 

‘Mom please remember what I said about getting mad at Eda for the first few episodes. I swear you will come to like her.’ Luz said with a pleading look. Camila looked doubtful but relented when she thought back on who she ended up with in the future.

‘Yes Camila I assure you that Luz is fine throughout the series… mostly. But don’t worry Eda is like a mama owl when with Luz. Take it from me, the all-powerful author.’ Alyssa said reassuringly.

Eda tells her that if she helps her get the crown, she will send her home. Luz says that she doesn't have a choice as Eda drags her away while King just tells his rubber duck that once he gets back his crown, they will both drink the fear of those who mocked them.

Most in the audience just cooed at King’s adorableness at his indignation. The futures just wisely kept their mouth shut.

Luz asks Eda where they are going while Eda says that they are going somewhere very fun as the scene cuts to a menacing-looking building. Eda explains that they are now at the Conformitorium , a place where all those considered ‘unsuitable’ for society are kept. 

‘What do you mean by ‘unsuitable’.’ Camila said with a hint of concern. 

‘You will see Camila, stupid good for nothing Emporer’s Coven.’ Eda says, muttering the last part.

King explains the plan to Luz, saying that he and Luz will sneak up the tower to where his crown is being kept while Eda makes sure that the Warden is distracted. Luz says that she needs a disguise as she pulls up her hoodie that has cat ears. King says that it’s hideous. Eda tells them to hang on as she does a spell with Owlbert that acts like an elevator, lifting them off the ground.

‘You could have just used a levitation spell Edalyn. Attracts less attention.’ Lilith quipped. 

‘So what if it attracts a lot of attention, I had to maintain the image as the most powerful witch on the boiling isles, even if I have to get a little theatrical.’ Eda shrugged. 

Amity wasn’t even listening to their comments, her face was fully red and was too busy thinking about how cute Luz looked on the screen. Alyssa seeing this had a mischievous glint in her eyes.

When the platform approached the top of the rower, it suddenly disappeared before King and Luz could get off. Luz was able to hang on to the ledge, King climbed up before Luz could pull herself in. 

Camila sighed relief at the sight of her daughter pulling herself up.

Eda tells them that she’ll meet them at the top of the tower as she simply uses Owlbert to fly to the top. Luz falls flat on her face when she climbs over while King laughs at her saying that cats don't do that. 

‘He’s right mija, cats do not do that.’ Camila said with a chuckle. Luz just glared at her mother.

One of the prisoners, Katya, calls Luz a cat lady and asks her how she got out of her cell. Luz says that she’s not a cat and that she isn’t a criminal. Katya tells her that no one here really is a criminal. She says that all she did was write fan fiction about food falling in love. 

At the mention of food-related fanfictions everyone just shuddered. But all agreed that it wasn’t so bad that she had to be jailed for it.

The remaining prisoners all state what their ‘crime’ was. A prisoner with multiple eyes says that he’s in there because he eats his own eyes. Another prisoner, Tiny Nose, believes in various conspiracy theories which is why she is here.

Tiny Nose states that the world is a simulation and that they all were playthings for higher beings. 

At that statement, many in the audience just turned and looked at Alyssa. 

‘What? You can’t tell me if you had interdimensional powers and that you won’t use at least some of that power for your entertainment. Just be grateful that I’m not one of those weird shippers. The weirdest pairing I’ve heard of was Lilith paired with Kikimora.’ Alyssa said, shuddering at the last part.

Lilith also visibly shuddered at that part. Mentally hoping that she will never have to meet any of those authors.

Luz proclaims that all of what they just said aren’t crimes and that they were just weirdos like she was as she pulls out Eda’s wanted poster and stares at it. Suddenly loud thudding is heard as Katya warns Luz that it's Warden Wrath, and tells her to hide.

‘Luz, please don’t tell me you get caught and end up in a magical battle with this warden guy.’ Camila said with a shake of her head.

‘Sorry Mom, us weirdos had to stick together.’ Luz said with a wink towards King and Eda.

Luz quickly runs into an open cell, pulling the portcullis down to make it seem she was a prisoner. Soon after, a side door opens, showing Warden Wrath standing menacingly in the doorway. The warden quickly states that he was able to hear the prisoners speaking and asks what all of them were whispering about.

‘He always was a drama king.’ Lilith said, rolling her eyes while Eda just snickered.

The warden sees Eda’s wanted poster on the ground growls and gets mad. He crushes the poster and morphs his hand into a hammer slamming it into the portcullis next to him stating that he’ll get his hands on her soon enough. 

‘Most cliche plot twist ever… not that surprising now considering that I’m the main character in a TV show.’ Luz muttered to herself. Luz on the other hand was just worried, Thinking to herself how much of her life was just some stage play for a multi-dimensional being.

The warden looks at Luz but his attention is attracted by Tiny Nose who screams that they will always fight the oppressor, that they will resist and never be afraid of the warden.

‘She’s a brave one I’ll give her that. No matter how weird or ‘unfit’ for society she is.’ Lilith said with an approving nod.

‘Well sorry to break it to you but little tiny nose there is an author avatar. An author by the name of Dana Terrace self-inserted herself into the show.’ Alyssa said with a smirk deliberately avoiding telling them that Dana Terrace was the creator of the show as Lilith and many others in the room paled. 

The warden opens the cell door and Tiny Nose celebrates saying that she’s free but before she can run away, the warden picks her up and tells the other prisoners that this was a lesson, that they will never have a place in society. 

‘I’m shocked that this author even allowed herself to be mishandled like that.’ Eda commented. 

‘Well, usually when you self-insert yourself you weave yourself part of the story and avoid plot armour. I haven’t done one of those stories yet but I may, in a different fandom.’ Alyssa explained.

Once the warden leaves, Luz quickly goes to Katya’s cell and tries to lift the lever to set her free. Luz however is too weak to lift the level moaning about her weak nerd arms. 

‘No worries little me, you have magic for heavy lifting now.’ Luz said with a wink towards her.

Katya tells Luz to get out of there and to enjoy freedom for them. Luz dejectedly walks away, knowing there isn’t much she can do.

‘If only I had known, I could have stopped all this.’ Lilith angrily muttered to herself.

Suddenly, Eda flies in with her staff telling Luz that the warden was distracted from tormenting Tiny Nose. Eda looked at Luz curiously she didn’t even respond to her. 

Eda winced at how inconsiderate she was. 

Luz approaches a large door with the word Contraband on it. King quickly runs forward saying that he can sense his crown’s power and proceeds to scratch and kick the door.

Eda says that it's very cute how King gets when he’s hungry for power. Luz finally tells Eda that it's very unfair that those prisoners are here just because they want to be themselves and asks why everyone thinks being a weirdo is so bad.

Both Camilas sighed as they remembered how Luz always had trouble with acceptance due to her being bisexual and thought back on how she made her daughter feel that being weird was a bad thing. 

The Boiling Isles’ residents were now quietly thinking about whether or not this was Emperor Belos’ doing and if so what other nasty secrets was he hiding.

Before Eda could respond, King rips off the doorknob and throws it at their feet, laughing maniacally as he runs into the room.

Eda sighs and asks Luz to come along before King hurts himself. When King suddenly yells out in pain. 

‘Aww he even yells out cutely.’ Camila cooed.

The contraband room only had a glowing cylinder in its center which King is constantly trying to ram with his head.

King gets frustrated but Eda reminds him that they have Luz there to help them. Luz just calmly exhales and goes up and enters the cylinder to see a mountain of trash with a glowing crown-shaped object on top.

‘Why am I getting the feeling that all this is worthless.’ Camila said suspiciously as Camila just glared at Eda not liking that she had once risked her daughter’s life for a piece of paper.

Luz gives a suspicious look and proceeds to bring out King’s crown which in actuality is just a paper Burger Queen crown. King sees it and excitedly puts it on and says that he can already feel his power returning.

‘You… You dare risk my daughter’s life for a freaking paper crown, are you insane?!’ Camila angrily screams at Eda who just shirks back into her seat. Eda winced at seeing her younger self being torn into, knowing full well that the Camila scolding Eda was just as fierce as her Camila .

Luz states that the crown doesn't give King any powers as King picks up a bunny ragdoll calling it Francois. Eda replies that King and her don't have much in this world but each other so if King’s ‘crown’ is important to him then it’s important for her as well, and states that us weirdos have to stick together.

‘I guess that crown isn’t all useless huh Luz, it did teach you a new moral.’ Camila said with a smile.

Luz hears that and blushes, while Eda wants all of them to bounce before the warden finds out and loses his head. However, the warden finds them and decapitates Eda. 

Many in the audience scream at this. Luz, who didn’t even blink an eye having witnessed it first-hand, just casually asks Alyssa what the show is rated as. Alyssa just states that it's rated a 6 and above on Disney+.

Luz catches Eda’s head as she says that she hates it when that happens. Luz screams, terrified and asks Eda whether she’s okay. Eda reassures her and says that it just happens when you get older. 

‘Don’t worry honey, that doesn’t happen, unless learning magic does some unexpected thing to your body.’ Luz reassures Camila that her body parts haven’t been detached because of magic.

Warden Wrath says that he has them cornered as many guards come up behind him as he morphs his hand. He proceeds to take King’s crown and crushes it stating that if he took King’s crown, Eda would come running.

‘Don’t worry King, It’s easy to get crowns in the human world. They are much more sturdy than paper.’ Camila said with a smile. 

King cries out about his power while Eda asks the Warden what he wants with her that she has never broken any laws… in front of him.

‘While that’s true sister, you certainly have broken a lot of laws in front of me.’ Lilith said with a smirk while Eda just groaned.

Warden Wrath says that he wants Eda to go out with him as he holds out a bouquet of flowers. Luz and Eda are both confused as all the guards cheer in support of Wrath. 

‘First of all eww. I will never want Warden Wrath to be my brother-in-law. And second, I’m not even sure if Eda is attracted to men.’ Lilith exclaimed.*

‘Don’t worry Cami, there’s no one else for me other than you.’ Eda said lovingly to Camila .

Wrath says that she had always avoided capture and that he found that alluring. Luz is disgusted and hates everything that the Warden is saying right now. The Warden hears this and gets angry, morphing his hands into tentacles to grab Luz, telling her to stay out of it.

‘Eda you better protect Luz.’ Camila and Amity, with a massive bush, said with a glare in Eda’s direction. 

‘I’m right here guys, I’m fine.’ Luz said reassuringly.

The Warden picks Eda up by her hair asking her for her answer. Also stating that they would be the strongest power couple ever and that Eda isn’t in a position to say no. 

Eda sees Luz and King struggling. She pretends to agree before spitting in the Warden’s face. The Warden screams and complains as to whether Eda knows how many germs there are in her mouth. In response, Eda rightfully rejects him angering the warden. 

The Warden is enraged at this. Promising to destroy her before Luz uses Eda’s staff to knock him out.

‘That’s my girl! Kick his ass Luz.’ Camila says enthusiastically. 

‘Don’t worry Mom, I made sure I did.’ Luz said with a knowing look to her future self.

Eda complements Luz on her good work before using her own body to knock out two more guards who were about to attract her head. Luz states that it is time for them to go. Picking up Eda’s head as she mounts Owlbert saying random words like ‘Expecto Flying and Magicusescapicus’. Eda simply smacks the staff and says ‘Gun it, magic stick’.

‘What did you think miha, it's not Harry Potter after all.’ Camila says with a chuckle.

Luz, King and Eda quickly fly through the conformatorium as the Warden screams out and releases his tentacles, swearing not to allow Eda to escape again.

It cuts back to the trio who are flying past the cells in the Conformatorium. Luz asks Eda to help her push up the levers to free the prisoners. They manage to escape the conformatorium but the Warden manages to land a hit, causing the trio to fall to the ground. Before the Warden could approach any further, Eda hands Luz her portal key and asks her to go back to the human realm before sending her off using Owlbert.

This causes Camila to be shocked. This was an unexpected turn of events which makes her think maybe Eda isn’t as bad as her first impressions.

As King and Eda charge the Warden, he takes off his mask to reveal a massive toothy maw with small beady black eyes and breathes a massive breath of fire towards the duo. Eda counters it with a portal spell and hits the Warden with his fire, blasting him into a wall.

While the students of Hexside were impressed, Amity was too distracted thinking of a certain deep-voiced kid she always babysat at the library.

Eda continues to fight the Warden as Luz flies down to the hole in the wall with the prisoners curious why they are not using their chance to escape. They simply retort that the Warden will always catch them and that they belong there. 

Luz disagrees and says while they have different ways of doing things, while it makes them weird, it makes them awesome. And that weirdoes have to stick together stating that nobody is to be punished for who they are.

At the sight of this Camila smiles proudly at her daughter for standing up for the right thing. While she isn't happy at the dangers Luz is in, she remains proud of what Luz is fighting for.

This rallies the prisoners as they charge at the Warden screaming at him, somehow managing to tangle his tentacles together. As this is happening, Luz starts to narrate the opening line of the Azura book series: ‘Do not underestimate me Warden Wrath, I am Luz the Human, Warrior of Peace. NOW EAT THIS SUCKA’ before taking her firework and firing it at the Warden’s mouth with his flames igniting it and sending out fireworks.

"That is so cool..." some Hexside students spoke up in impressed at the power of the technology of the human realm.

King comments that it is in fact one of her better break-ups to which Eda fully denies it.

Everyone cracks up at this and Camila even teases Eda about it and tries to coerce more stories from her.

Back at the Owl House, Eda summons the key back from Luz and opens the portal again providing Luz with her way back home. 

However Luz is hesitant and before she leaves gives King the crown from her Azura figure as she took back her her the book back and Reality Check pamphlet from Eda. 

Luz comments on how it the most fun that she ever has ever had and that she doesn't fit in at home as such wishes to stay in the Demon Realm and learn to be a witch.

Camila subconsciously starts pulling Luz closer to her, unsure of whether she should be mad or sad at the fact her daughter was so willing and so quick to deceive her.

Eda brushes off Luz’s idea stating that humans can't become witches while Luz retorts that maybe it's because no one has tried. Eda reluctantly agrees. Soon Luz is in a room with her sleeping bag after setting up her photo with her and Camila hugging.

Camila texts her asking how summer camp is and Luz looks guilty as King comes in with a toy bunny and Luz silently offers her a place on her sleeping mat. Luz smiles and replies on her phone that she's gonna like it here as she falls asleep.

Before any conversation could take place, Alyssa quickly interjects and calls out. ‘There we have it folks, the first episode of The Owl House. Now, I can tell that emotions are high and that a certain few of us require some time to clear things up. So I will leave them to it as we begin the next episode.’ Alyssa states as she plucks the mother and daughter pair into a small pocket dimension before turning around and starting the next episode: Witches before Wizards
