He stepped off the cruise-like ship, looking at his surroundings, the other competitors pushing past him softly. He was frozen in awe; the beautiful view of the main lobby would never get old for him.
Wilbur smiled softly, before hearing his teammates call out to him. He must've zoned out for a while there; he was still on the ship.
"C'mon, Wilbur! The event's gonna start in a few minutes!" Tommy called to him excitedly, and the brunette couldn't help but grin at the blonde's bright energy.
"Coming!" he hurried down the small set of stairs, stepping foot onto the wooden docks near the ocean. He jogged over to his teammates, Scott giving him a joking-disappointed look on his face.
"It's been so long since you've joined, and you never wear the team outfits we've sent you." he gestured to Wilbur's yellow turtleneck sweater, the Brit only shrugging.
"Too lazy; I'm used to my outfits."
The teal-haired admin gasped, mockingly offended. "I've put so much work into those, Wilbur!"
"Yeah, and I hate you for it."
"It's just for team spirit!"
The two of them continued their banter for a short while, Phil chuckling to himself. Tommy had ran off for a bit, hanging out with Tubbo and Ranboo before the games would begin. The three of the Red Rabbits could hear the teen's swearing from a somewhat long distance, and they couldn't help but smile.
It was just a normal MCC event for them. Well- there was one thing missing, which Wilbur tried to shove out of his mind.
Scott excused himself, needing to check to make sure the event's coding would run smoothly, so there were no errors in the event. Phil was ready to start his stream, yet Wilbur stood alone for a moment, looking in the direction of the Hall of Fame.
Wilbur sighed, running a hand through his dark-brown hair.
It was him, Tommy, Phil, and Scott on a team. MCC 8 Red Rabbits all over again. Well, except...-
He saw a glimpse of Techno's head on the walls, and his eyes almost immediately stung with tears.
When would he be home?
'Why did he leave me- why did he leave us?' he thought to himself.
His hands curled into fists, yet unclenched when he felt a hand on his shoulder. Startled, he whipped his head around to see Niki standing behind him, a smile on her face.
"Hey Wil!"
"Oh- hey, hey Niki." he stammered, forcing a small smile. Niki glanced over to where Wilbur was looking, before looking back at him.
"Is everything alright? You seemed a bit lost when I came over."
"Yeah, yeah; I'm fine. Just a bit anxious for MCC, y'know?" he lied, thankfully it was good-enough that Niki seemed to believe it.
"Mhmm! I just came over here to wish you good luck, and I should probably be heading back to my team now." she said, and Wilbur nodded and smiled.
"Yeah, you too. See you later, Niki!"
"See you later!" she waved, before turning around and walking back to her team.
Wilbur's smile faded, and he took a deep breath, walking over to the Hall of Fame, his shoes making quiet creaks against the wooden paths. It's been so long since he made a goal to get in the top ten for the individual rankings, now he's just forgot about it.
Although nothing much has changed. Pete and Quig were still competing for number one, Fruit and Illumina not too far behind.
Sure, the achievements had changed a bunch, but that wasn't really that important to Wilbur.
He just missed Technoblade, and the Hall of Fame, for some reason, reminded him of his friend.
He looked downstairs, seeing the winning teams of Season One on the second floor. Hesitantly, he walked down the stairway, being met with all of the podiums.
MCC 1, MCC 2, MCC 3-
His gaze fixated on MCC 4, seeing the artificial statues of themselves stood on the podiums. They all looked so happy, so proud-
Yet one of them was missing, ever since MCC 11,
well, technically MCC Pride, but that was for fun, and for charity causes.
Wilbur walked over to their podium, when the "Sleepy Bois" group officially kicked off. When Tommy was an unofficial member, before he proved himself in MCC 9, earning him a spot in their group. Phil being the parent of the three, Techno acting like the oldest, Wilbur acting like he was in the middle, and Tommy being the youngest.
He missed Techno. He missed them altogether in a call, whether it'd be to film a video, or just them hanging out. He missed his jokes, him acting desperate for clout, wanting to do well for his friends, for himself.
He missed everything, the good old days.
