Summary
Atsushi remembers what he had said to Akutagawa the morning after, when they were both trying to figure out what it all meant. It wasn’t the alcohol that had driven them to share a bed or exchange gentle, curious, almost reverent touches. And to Atsushi, it seemed deeper than impulse at the time. He still believes that, even though he’s the one who refuses to follow through. It’s one of the few times Atsushi has broken his word, and he still feels crippling guilt when he remembers how he set his hand on Akutagawa’s and offered to find out what that night was or what they were.
Set shortly after the Fitzgerald fight. Also, I continue to be bad at summaries.
