Why?
Why did it have to be the Dream SMP that was attacked? Why did they have to take his friends away? Why couldn’t he have done better to help rescue them? Why did he have to get caught?
Why did Sapnap have to be the only human in this whole wretched place that sees how wrong it all is?
Why was he so useless?
He stood, pacing in his cell. Honestly, it wasn’t even that much of a cell, it was more of a room. He’d caught glimpses of what all of the other captives had to live in and it wasn’t fair. They were being treated like animals and here he was practically living in comfort.
They’d let him go where he wanted, within reason of course, and nothing was expected of him. He was just there as leverage against Dream and he was sick of it.
How dare they use him against Dream like that? If only he could get a sword and have a nice talk with The Collector. Then maybe he could beat some sense into the man. No, the monster. And he dared to call the people he’d kidnapped monsters? God Sapnap wanted to kill the man.
He’d have to get in line of course. There were countless people who wanted the business man’s head on a pike. Once the tables turn they’d all show him the same amount of mercy he’d shown them.
Sapnap sat down on his all too comfortable bed and closed his eyes. The image of Etho’s teeth wired shut was still burned in his mind. He still remembers the way the other carried himself, his muscles tensed like he was in pain or was waiting for a strike.
It’s all too easy to replace him with a different Enderman Hybrid.
And Sapnap wasn’t a fool. He could see some of them had much more of an easy time than others. Fundy looked like he hadn’t been hurt at all while he’d seen others who could barely stand. They were really serious about this Dream and Techno fight if they were willing to keep those they care about further away from harm.
The worst part is that it was working on them. When the Hermits stood up to fight, they couldn’t do a thing. Techno had done the most, but even he backed down after they threatened Philza and Tubbo.
Sapnap didn’t really have much to lose in that fight, but he still stood back like a coward. They wouldn’t have killed him in the fear that Dream would stop obeying and he’s not sure if they could justify in their crooked ways that he could be harmed like the others. He was one of the only ones they saw as a person, but he never took advantage of that. He was too afraid.
Fate was cruel to throw him into this situation.
