Chapter Text
It was a quiet day at school for the supernatural, but as usual it didn't stay that way for long.
The twins and Dr. Salzman were already waiting at the car, ready to hunt the monster that's causing chaos in the forest.
It was cold outside, and rain was pouring down, but Hope didn't notice. She was resting at a nearby tree and was lost in thought her when suddenly a loud voice snaps her out of it.
"Hope, hurry up, the monster isn't going to defeat itself" Josie was leaned against the car and ready to get in.
Hope didn't know what it was, but when she heard Josie's voice, all she could think about was getting closer to the other girl as fast as possible. It's a strange feeling, it's like she is drawn to Josie. When Hope sits down in the car next to Josie the
other girls gives her a friendly smile. Josie causes butterflies, Hope had never felt that way before she met Josie.
Her thoughts are interrupted again but this time by Lizzie: "Pull yourself together Mikaelson and buckle up already!" Lizzie rolls her eyes at them as per usual.
During the ride Hope and Josie exchange eye contact from time to time but other than that its just silence.
Lizzie watches them in the rearview mirror and can't hold back a smirk as she watches those two idiots in love. None of the two had the guts to tell the other, which slightly annoys her, but she chooses to stay quiet and let them take their time.
Lizzie leans forward and turns on the radio. She switched through the different channels until she found a nice and relaxing talk show to help her calm her nerves. While listing, she decided to lean back and close her eyes and tried to forget that
they were hunting a dangerous monster.
Hope was almost asleep by now, it was very long drive, and she is only vaguely aware of what is happening in the car. She hears how the previously very concentrated Dr. S asks Lizzie again to turn off the radio because they were not here for fun.
And then an argument broke out.
"Dad, you don't have to be like that," Lizzie was already rolling her eyes.
The two continue to argue for a while.
Josie was listening to her own music the whole way because otherwise she gets car sick.
Hope thinks it's kind of cute that the powerful witch next to her get defeated by a car ride when not listing to music. But she was way too tired to stay awake any longer so she let her eyes fall shut.
"Okay, we're here," these words jerk Hope out of her sleep. She looks around and there is nothing but forest to see.
Hope sees that everyone but her has already gotten out of the car and quickly follows them. Dr. S, armed with his crossbow, leads the way and the three witches cautiously follow close behind him.
"What kind of monster is it Dad?" asks Lizzie with a bit of fear in her voice.
Dr. S stops for a moment and considers "I don't know that for sure I've been given very little information."
Lizzie is shocked by the answer "You don't know?"
"Don't worry honey a shot in the heart should do it" says Dr. S tried to reassure his daughter.
"Are you sure dad?" Josie eyes now full of worry.
"I think we should trust your father, he knows more about this than we do" Hope tries her best to lift the spirits. " Still do not get to careless" .
The twins nod and trust Hope and their father. Ever since they were trapped in that cult, the bond between the three has been almost inseparable.
As the four creep through the forest, there is a sudden rustling behind them.
Hope turns around and is already ready to destroy the monster with a spell, but nothing was there.
When the four turn around again to continue, they were slightly relieved, but the tension is still there.
"Ugh, this forest is creeping me out." Lizzie says as she nearly tripped over a branch.
The other two catch her in time before she could get injured.
Suddenly they hear a loud roar right next to them, but it was already too late for them to react. The monster already sent Dr. S flying.
"DAD!" came from both twins almost simultaneously, but he wasn't moving. Hope and the twins react quickly and stand in front of the fainted Dr. S.
Without hesitation the twins grab Hope's hands to cast a spell. "Quick we have to destroy it!" Hope shouts. The twins as if they could read her mind start chanting the same spell.
The monster lets out loud screams and then is blown into pieces.
"That was way too easy,"Hope was thinking out loud, "we didn't even have to try hard, something's wrong."
”Im just happy we did it, we have to help our dad! "Lizzie is slightly upset that Hope could not accept their victory.
The twins turn to help their father. "He's just unconscious," relief washed over Josie body.
Lizzie checks her father's body for other injuries but fortunately finds nothing.
Meanwhile, Hope goes to look at the wreckage the monster left behind. She doesn't believe it was that easy.
While searching for clues, she didn't notice how a small, slimy creature climbs up her leg and up and up until it reached her ear. Hope felt something slimy on her neck, but it was too late. It slips inside her Ear and begins to spread its evil.
Hope clutched her head in pain and fell to her knees. Something was very wrong, she could feel it.
But Before she could alert the other of what just happened, she could feel herself weakening and finally succumb to the monster.
With a thud her body hits the cold forest surface.
