Work Text:

-"I find it amusing that we will do anything to take a different path to get away from troubles only to meet them on the said path taken to avoid them~", - a hissing haughty voice echoed throughout the room.
-"Leave me alone, you horrible serpent. I do not wish to deal with your shenanigans.", - Feaster answered, not even turning around to the source of the voice as he was painting the canvas.
-"That's not how you greet old friends, darling~", - the Dream Witch turned visible and lowered herself down to her interlocutor, looking at the canvas before leaning down onto Hastur's shoulders, - "You were so sure you will avoid me if you will come here, completely forgetting that I see everything and everyone~ It's not surprising you forgot~ You've spent your time with these little pests more than with your own kind, so your brain probably just withered down to that one of a human~", - Yidhra chuckled mockingly. Feaster, however, simply ignored her insult.
-"Whatever you are trying to do it is not going to work. Get out of here, I said I do not wish to deal with you and your nonsense.", - Feaster growled a bit, continuing to paint.
-"You are even forgetting who is stronger here, my dear~", - Yidhra chuckled before rubbing Hastur's shoulders and sliding her hands down to his wrists, but before she could do anything tentacles wrapped around her arms and held them back.
-"We both are equal in this place. And we will stay equal as long as we are trapped in here.", - Feaster spoke, pushing the Dream Witch away, - "I knew you would come after me, but never would I ever think that a haughty and selfish being like you are would actually enter such manor as well, and would skin herself off of all the powers she has gotten."
-"You are such an idiot~ Just like these humans you cared so much about~ What were you hoping for? That the Priestess would get you out? Or your father would come to rescue you?", - Yidhra leaned down again, looking Hastur in the eyes.
-"That is none of your business, Dream Witch.", - Hastur said, continuing to paint, - “It is my choice and it is my path. And I do not expect a feral beast like you to understand or at least try to understand.”
-“I hear that from a beast itself~”, - Dream Witch hissed tauntingly, - “What is there to understand? That you’re a coward that tried to run away?”, - Yidhra chortled before looking back at the Feaster, - “You’ve done so much damage to our brethren. You’ve caused so many problems, stood rebellious against us, fought other Elder and Outer Gods to protect humans of all things. And for what? For them to trash you? For them to not even bother to try and understand what you are wishing for? For them to turn your religion into cheap merchandise?”, - Yidhra got out a book named “Lakeside Path” that had the Yellow Sigil drawn on it, - “And for You to kill all of them. After all these years, after all the blessings, after all the pain and chaos you went through for them.”, - Yidhra spoke in a dark tone, - “Do you feel accomplished, King in Yellow?~”, - she said the last part with bitterness and mockery.

Hastur did not reply. He went completely silent, stopping everything he was doing as his tentacles lowered down onto the floor. He did not know what to say, he had nothing, he was speechless… Everything Yidhra said was true. He did so much only to accomplish nothing. Only to come back to where he started from, being a lonely outsider… -“Face it, Hastur. You’ve lost. You’ve failed everything. You’ve failed your fellow Gods, you’ve failed these creatures you were trying to protect. You’ve failed yourself. And now you are trapped here with me digging my claws into your back. But you know what?”, - Dream Witch leaned down to Hastur’s hood and started whispering, - “If you will ever dare to step out of the boundaries of this manor we will get you. I Personally will get you. You may be immortal, but you are not immune to pain and torture. I will stab my claws into your chest and will rip it into shreds. I will make my Followers ram their weapons into your eyes and body. I will scratch your core, I will tear off your pathetic tendrils. And you know what else?”, - Yidhra said that in a very dark and creepy tone, - “While you will be wriggling in pain and agony I will be feasting on the body of that stupid little human you’ve sworn to protect. I will make sure he will stay alive long enough for you to be tortured by his screams of pain and begs for his life to be ended.”, - the serpent hissed, - “I will devour him alive and will make sure that you will hear his screams until he will physically won’t be able to make a sound anymore.”, - Yidhra growled out the last sentence before slowly crawling away and disappearing into thin air, leaving Hastur alone.

Shivers went down Feaster’s body, shivers from rage, pain, and fear. Shivers from thoughts of all the mistakes he has done, from the feeling of dread, the feeling of being lost. He lifted up his clawed hand and scratched the canvas before curling up and covering his “face”. Hastur felt like impending doom was approaching, he felt like right now and right here everything was going to fall apart like the world is going to break like a mirror and its shard will fall down into the void. Please, let it be just a nightmare, don’t let it be reality- But no matter how much Hastur thought of it he couldn’t wake up, it was real, and the truth was tearing his core apart.

Notes:

I seriously headcanon that Yidhra hates Hastur and vice versa. I even have a theory that she was stalking him for a very peculiar reason, and was one of the reasons everything went south in the Lakeside Village.
Anyways, this one is kinda old and short, I apologize.
