Hello all and thank you for being so patient with this project! I never cease to be amazed with how many people this project has found, and how many people are interested in this project! Its great to see how much you love our takes on existing characters, as well as some new ones (Lorelai says thanks for the love <3)! I, too have reinvigorated my passion for this project, and have spent alot of time thinking about a rewrite that you all deserve. With that being said, I wanted to announce that I am doing a soft reboot of this project, with a revision of the pilot underneath the same series! So lets go over a few updates to make things make sense;
- The title for this series has changed! I am now calling it Not Your Mama's Supernatural (NYMSPN), and the series name has been updated to reflect as such. This is still the same project.
- The reason I revised the pilot is because I was unsatisfied with the storytelling flow in my previous writing. I wanted to give a narrative flow that was both rewarding to newcomers to the work and returning Supernatural fans, and this revision does a far better job at doing so.
- This project is a rewrite. That means there will be major changes, some of which you may not like, some of which you may love. I am completely open to criticism, but I will remind people that this is just a personal project of mine where some fundamental changes may be taking place. I am in no way making a New Supernatural; if you like SPN as it is, then you have plenty of places to watch it! I enjoy analyzing the existing canon and themes through narrative, and am open to hearing how these changes and takes make people feel! But as the series name suggests, this is Not Your Mama's Supernatural. Discretion is advised.
- I will be making a new discord server dedicated to this fic, where people can come in, talk about the fic, ask questions, and even potentially contribute to canon! Keep an eye out for the link in an authors note soon!
- The canon will continue off of the material in the revised pilot. These works, however, do not remain completely irrelevant, but stake their claim as drafts. I will be keeping these ups to look back on, but keep in mind that this is a nullified timeline. The canon does not continue from these events, but instead from the revised pilot.
- Not that I feel the need to say this, but just so we're clear, Rory ain't goin nowhere <3
That being said, you can find the revised version of the pilot here, where I have begun publishing as of today! As usual, I plan on updating every Friday, perhaps even with some more manageable chapters :). Can't wait to see you all, returning and new readers, and buckle up for the ride!
