   Summary

   It’s not fair to hold things said in anger against someone. Bruno knows Mista regrets the words as soon as he says them. It still hurts. Mista’s eyes go wide, and he takes a step back.

   “I forgive you,” Bruno says, because it’s not okay. But he forgives Mista anyway. “I forgive you.”

   Mista flees. The door slams behind him.

   Bruno sits down at his desk and cries, because no one ever taught him what to do when the person you’re meant to guide through young-adulthood hurts you.
