TRUST FALL | James Bond

Summary:

“Do you trust me?”

Work Text:

(Y/N) knew that going on this mission was a bad idea. She knew that anything James Bond, or as she knew him, 007, had do with with was a bad idea, and yet, when M approached her about this mission, she couldn't find it in herself to say no. And it was a choice she was deeply regretting.

As a 00 agent herself, (Y/N) was familiar with surviving all sorts of situations she knew that most people couldn't walk away from alive, and for that she was eternally grateful to whatever god above had blessed her with such a skillset, but now, as she looked down the sharp cliff she was standing on, she felt less than lucky.

"I'm sorry, you want me to do what?”

“Abseil down the side of the cliff.”

“Seriously?”

“Seriously.”

(Y/N) sighed before moving to attach herself to one of the ropes James had laid out. She had never liked heights, and she had never known why she had been scared of them, but as she peered over the cliff again, she realised that her fear had been rational.

“Come one, (L/N),” Bond called from the cliff’s edge, ready to abseil down. “We haven’t got all day. Hurry up!”

Turning around, (Y/N) began to start her way down the cliff, taking small steps to make sure she was balanced. Working her way down, she looked to her side to see James on par with herself.

Just as she went to take another step down, (Y/N) felt herself begin to slip, the rope in her hand had been caught on a rock.

”Calm down, (L/N), this is an easy fix...” Bond began to say, but (Y/N) couldn't hear him. She couldn’t hear anything over her panic. She had known that this was a bad idea.

Paralysed by fear, (Y/N) was helpless as she watched her rope begin to break from the pressure the rock had placed on it. As the rope continued to break, she closed her eyes.

When the rope finally snapped, (Y/N) felt herself plunge down to what would be her death. But she didn’t find herself falling for long as Bond had grabbed her hand mid fall.

“It’ll be alright, (L/N), I’ve got you.”
