Chapter Text
It’s summer on New Caprica, the few weeks where the clouds clear and the sun comes out, and Laura is determined to enjoy it. Ever since she told Bill she discovered this beautiful lake, she’s been wanting to take him up there and let him see the set of her future life —of theirs, hopefully.
Now she comes out of the lake, a regular pair of underwear and bra in lieu of a swimming suit, and twists her hair to get the most water out. She’s not sure where Bill has gone as she rejoins the spot where they left their things. When she went in, he was watching her, basking in the sunshine and smiling at her.
He comes in from behind her, slides his hands up her sides and attaches his lips to the side of her neck. “To avoid tan lines,” he says as he unclasps her bra and pushes her underwear down her legs. Tan lines. Right. As if she could ever tan in the first place. Her skin, unlike his, goes straight from fine to lobster with no in-between. The sun doesn’t have much of an occasion to graze her body then as it’s his hands that caress her and his body covering hers. If anyone were to have any tan lines, it would be on his back where she had her legs wrapped around his body.
