(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Obito refused to admit it was his fault. He’d simply taken Kakashi’s body away from the battlefield, to honour him more than Konoha ever would. The dark-haired man couldn’t care less about the village or even his Akatsuki pawns. He’d simply waited for the right moment to take Nagato’s eyes.

He hadn’t expected the Uzumaki kid to talk Nagato into reviving everyone who’d fallen in the fight with the Pain bodies. And because Kakashi had been taken away into Kamui, his soul could not return to his body. To everyone in Konoha, the Copy Ninja Kakashi simply had gone missing.

Obito would not accept such fate. With Nagato sacrificing himself, there was little to nothing in the way between the secret leader of Akatsuki and obtaining a Rinnegan. Konan had proven herself to be a minor obstacle as she’d even thought of a way to counter the invincibility granted by Kamui. She can’t have known about the Uchiha clan’s forbidden jutsu, however.

After taking the Rinnegan from Nagato’s corpse, Obito knew what to do. Although as just his avatar, he’d bring Kakashi back. He’d just be a puppet, controlled through the chakra rods, but he’d move again. He’d speak and see and use his Jutsu.

When Kakashi opened his eyes again, it irked Obito that his right steely eye had been replaced with the faint purple of a Rinnegan. But his left eye remained a Sharingan, forever linking Kakashi to Obito through both eyes now. The dark-haired man now saw himself, standing in front of the body. The sight from Kakashi… He’d have to get used to that.

He didn’t want to see himself. He wanted to just watch the silver-haired man. He’d considered giving him the Akatsuki cloak but with Pain gone, there was almost no reason to keep up the silly appearance of the group anymore. Still, Obito wanted to mark Kakashi as his.

Once he’d clad the Konoha shinobi in a grey robe he’d had made with the Hatake crest sewn on the back, Zetsu just could not keep quiet.

“Since when are you so sentimental?” The White Zetsu hissed with a sneer. “Shouldn’t you be putting it to some use?”

“He will be alive in the perfect world, so stop focusing on it now,” the Black half added. “Now use it like the tool he’s always been.”

Obito seethed at those words. Kakashi was not a tool to be used. Konoha had made that mistake but he wouldn’t, not anymore. He hated how the artificial creature saw the silver-haired man as some object to take advantage of and eventually throw away.

Kakashi was not an ‘it’. Obito had a purpose for him but it was not fighting. Obito didn’t need anyone else to go into the field for him. He was capable of doing everything by himself perfectly.

And so, Obito carefully chose the places the Chakra rods would sink into Kakashi’s body. He lined them along the silver-haired man’s neck, cover his eye scar. On a whim, he pierced Kakashi’s left ring finger with one rod. Obito treated them like jewellery, made to decorate Kakashi.

And decorate him he did. With earrings and new embroideries to the robes he’d make Kakashi wear. Sometimes it was flowers, too. He’d rearrange everything to find better and better ways to make him pretty.

Because Kakashi was his pretty doll. Always by Obito’s side. For Obito to admire, and touch, and make better. The feelings he had for his former teammate morphed into an untamed beast that wanted to rake its claws over Kakashi’s body, to bite into his flesh and tear it apart, to taste him and see all the beauty he had inside.

Fate had it that while completing his plans for the war, they’d come across Kakashi’s old team. The Kyuubi kid could not believe his eyes. He pleaded to his Sensei to come to his senses, to return to Konoha.

“Kakashi-sensei! Why would you abandon the village?!” Naruto’s voice was teary. Such betrayal must’ve hurt.

The new team Captain, one Kakashi had used to call Tenzo, was more sensible. Obito watched a bead of nervous sweat roll down the Mokuton user’s face with satisfaction.

“Naruto, look. Kakashi-senpai’s eye… It’s a Rinnegan.”

The horror that painted on both of their faces was delicious. Obito made Kakashi bark out a laugh at them, too.

“B-but Nagato revived everybody… Does it mean… You!” The Fourth’s son pointed at masked Obito. The dark-haired man cocked his head curiously. “You killed Kakashi-sensei to take control over him?! I’ll never forgive you!”

“It’s the pathetic village that killed me,” the response rolled off Kakashi’s tongue. “I’ve wasted enough time in Konoha to know it’s hell just like anywhere else.”

“That’s right, isn’t it?” Obito gently cupped Kakashi’s pretty face. So pretty, especially when finally speaking ill of the forsaken shinobi village. “You’re not their tool anymore. You’re mine now.”

His tone shifted deeper, almost into a growl. Kakashi was his, and only his. There was no one else occupying his thoughts or time now. Kakashi didn’t have to be a teacher to anyone anymore. He would say exactly what Obito wanted to hear from his lips.

His perfect doll.

“S-stop making him say that! You’re ruining him, not saving him!” Naruto’s voice slowly fell into despair and Obito revelled in it. “Kakashi-sensei would never say that! He loves Konoha!”

“The same village that took away my father, my friends and my teacher? Don’t make me laugh, Naruto-kun.” Kakashi’s laughter was beautiful. Obito loved hearing it. He loved hearing every single sound the silver-haired man made just for him.

Kakashi would do everything for him. So right, and perfect, and pretty. And only his. Only Obito’s.

Notes:

I ended up with so many..........not so sfw ideas.................. for this AU.
I had such a blast with the prompt, thank you so much! I never considered this possibility and now I have a whole ass AU of Obito treating Kakashi like his pretty doll to do anything he wishes to.

Kudos and comments are always appreciated!
