Gym was neither Kazuichi or Gundham's favorite class. Gundham hated feeling all gross and sweaty after being forced to participate, Kazuichi just wasn't into athletic things, and it's not like his constant intake of colas helped. They stood next to each other, stretching to get ready for today's class, the heat already getting to them
"Are you gonna fight the teacher about participating today?" Kazuichi teased as he stretched up, some pops could be heard from their back
"Hm. Depends." Gundham looked over at him "Your back okay?" He chuckled. Kazuichi just laughed and waved vamp off
After that, the teacher finally started talking
"Alright class, I decided we'd have a bit more of a competitive day. You'll be separated into two teams."
Something competitive perked up Gundham a bit, he took a secret pleasure in challenges like this. Kazuichi, on the other hand, wasn't as into the idea. There'd be tons of pressure not to let your team down, what if they get mad at him for failing them?
"We'll be playing volleyball."
Some students groaned, while others were pretty excited
"Here's our groups; Team one will be Hajime, Mikan, Chiaki, Byakuya, Gundham, Hiyoko, Peko, and Akane. Team two will be Ibuki, Nekomaru, Nagito, Sonia, Fuyuhiko, Mahiru, Teruteru, and Kazuichi. Please get into your teams."
Gundham looked at Kazuichi "Seems we will be competing against each other, my love." It chuckled
Kazuichi chuckled along, but growing more and more nervous by the second "Go easy on me, will ya?"
"We'll see." He teased "What will the winner get?"
"What? Ya really wanna make a bet outta this?" Kazuichi cocked a pierced brow at demon
"Why not? It'll be more fun." Gundham held out his hand "If my team wins, you will buy me dinner."
Kazuichi thought for a moment "And if my team wins?"
"The same for you, I will buy you dinner."
"Temptin.." Kazuichi hesitated, but took Gundham's hand "Deal."
"Wonderful!" Gundham laughed out vamps usual villain like laugh, shaking Kazuichi's hand
"Hey, before ya go," Kazuichi squeezed it's hand a bit "How about a kiss for good luck?"
Gundham quickly turned a bright red "I-I suppose that will be fine.."
Kazuichi chuckled to himself before bringing Gundham close for a quick kiss. After that, they separated into their groups

"I'm not doing this if Mahiru isn't on my team!" Hiyoko shouted at the teacher
"The teams aren't changing!" The teacher snapped back
"Then I'm not playing!" It seems like Hiyoko was gonna be the one fighting with the teacher during today's class
"What if someone volunteered from the other team?" Sonia asked
"Hm, does anyone want to switch for Mahiru's spot?" The teacher asked
Sonia seemed to smile specifically at Chiaki, seemed like Sonia suggested this just as a way to get her girlfriend on her team. Chiaki got the hint and raised her hand
"I'd be fine with switching." They said
"Alright then, Mahiru and Chiaki are switching teams, but no more after! This decision is final!"
Kazuichi sighed, he didn't wanna do this at all. Gundham was pretty excited and ready to show off in front of everyone.. He may or may not be showing off for Kazuichi specifically, even if they made this into a bet
"Alright everyone!" The teacher now had a ball out for them "Who's making the first move?"
"Me me! Let Ibuki!!" Ibuki jumped up and down excitingly
"Here ya go, you guys know the rules." The teacher threw the ball over to Ibuki "Start!"
With that, Ibuki threw up the ball and hit to the other team. Peko was quick to swoop in and hit it back, Sonia doing the same to them..

They've played for a while now. Team one has scored 3 points, team two has scored 1. All this running around was getting to Kazuichi, he was struggling to keep his breath steady
They were in the middle of another round. Sonia hit the ball over, this time Akane came in and hit it hard, straight in Kazuichi's direction. Kazuichi didn't have enough time to react, luckily, Nekomaru came in and hit the ball for them, sending it far out of the other teams direction. Some of the students sighed, since it happened before from Akane
"I will go retrieve it." Gundham said before walking off
"Can we stop hittin the damn ball that hard?" Fuyuhiko said "Someone's gonna get hurt!"
"Eh, it's no big deal." Nekomaru laughed "You would've been able to take it, huh Kazuichi?" He turned to look at Kazuichi, but his expression changed. Kazuichi was clutching at his chest, panting heavily
"Kazuichi? Are you alright?" Nekomaru asked
"I'm-I'm good.. Just.. Need a minute.."
"Are you sure? You look pretty bad.."
Silence came over the students as they all shared worry for Kazuichi. As Gundham went after the ball, he noticed the others weren't talking anymore. Demon turned around to see Nekomaru, Sonia, and Mikan surrounding Kazuichi. He didn't look well at all. Vamp decided to ignore the ball and quickly went back to the group
"What's going on?" Gundham asked, clearly worried for Kazuichi
"H-He's struggling to breathe." Mikan answered "He really should g-get back inside. They may pass o-out."
"Nah, man, I'm.." Kazuichi didn't have much energy left to finish that sentence, his legs gave out under him
Gundham swooped in to catch him. Now with Kazuichi's head to Gundham's chest, they could really hear his heart beat. It was fast, Gundham's expression didn't show it much, but he was very scared for Kazuichi right now
"Kaz. Kazuichi, can you hear me?" Gundham's voice almost trembled
Kazuichi squinted up at him, nodding slowly
"I-I'm taking you inside, okay?" Gundham got Kazuichi up on his feet again before walking back inside with him

Gundham sat Kazuichi down on a bench in the boy's locker room. Kazuichi's breath steadied a bit, but he still wasn't well. Gundham took it's shakey hands and cupped Kazuichi's face
"In through your nose, out through your mouth. Deep breaths, my love." Gundham watched Kazuichi carefully "I will return with some water." He gave Kazuichi a quick kiss on the cheek before leaving
Once Gundham returned, Kazuichi was still struggling
'Hopefully some water will help..' Demon thought
It made his way to Kazuichi and opened up the bottle
"Here, drink some of this."
Kazuichi took the bottle and took a couple of sips. While they did so, Gundham had finally noticed something
Kazuichi's chest was flat. Why was it flat? Was he..
"Kazuichi.." Gundham started
"Yeah..?" Kazuichi looked up at Gundham
"Why are.. Are you wearing your binder?" Gundham asked
Kazuichi froze up. He was. He really didn't want to take it off today, their dysphoria had been worse than usual, they didn't think it'd do much harm
"I uhm.." Kazuichi couldn't even get much out before Gundham cut him off
"Go take off your binder." Gundham wasn't mad, though vamps tone definitely came off that way
Kazuichi gulped and handed the bottle back to him, avoiding eye contact as he got up and went to change
When he returned, Gundham was sitting on the bench, turning the bottle in his hand. Kazuichi hesitantly sat down next to him, his breathing now finally getting better. He felt terrible, none of this would've happened if they'd just took off their binder. Gundham must be really upset and disappointed with him, he felt like crying
"Kazuichi," Gundham looked over at him and placed a hand on his cheek "You know wearing your binder while doing these activities is dangerous. You almost fainted out there."
Kazuichi looked back at Gundham, trying to hold back tears "I was just.. More dysphoric than usual.." He wasn't the best at holding back their cries, their tears falling down and pooling up at Gundham's hand "I'm really sorry.. That was so stupid I don't know why I did that.. I'm such an idiot and I made everyone worry and-"
"Kazuichi, it's okay. I understand." Gundham moved it's thumb to wipe away Kazuichi's tears "But, please, you must take care of yourself. I know dysphoria is a terrible feeling, but.. You could have gotten terribly hurt today, my love.."
Kazuichi nodded along "I'm really sorry.. Are you mad at me..?"
"No, of course not. I'm very relieved you're okay." Gundham handed the water to Kazuichi again "Keep drinking this, it will help." He smiled warmly
Kazuichi sniffled and nodded again, taking a couple more sips of the water
"I really hope you won't do this again. You had me very worried, my love." Gundham said as vamp scooted closer to Kazuichi
Kazuichi rested his head on Gundham's shoulder "I know, I'm really sorry.."
"It's okay." Gundham assured "What's important is you are okay now."

After Kazuichi finished the bottle and was feeling much better, they looked up at Gundham
"So, uh, is that bet still on?"
Gundham snorted "You're still worried about that?"
"Hey! I just wanna know if I still gotta buy ya dinner!" Kazuichi laughed
"Hm, I'm not sure which team won. How about we call it even, and we'll go on an outing tomorrow?" Gundham offered
"Yeah, that sounds good."
