“Don’t go into the deep woods”, everyone always said. It was one of the first things Louis was taught as a child; don’t go in so far as you can’t see the edge any longer. Don’t go where the trees are so thick that only moss and lichen grow on the trunks. Don’t wander too far down the path. Many things make their homes in the woods, many who will see you dead and many who will never let you leave. Stay in the clearings and stay on the path. Don’t go into the deep woods.
