Work Text:

"I swear, it's not always like this." Drake said as they sat on top of the St. Canard bridge.  The traffic below practically non existent as the moon reflected off the calm waters of the bay. It was supposed to be Launchpad’s first night on patrol with him as his official partner in vigilante justice. And it was a quiet night.

Launchpad laughed in response, leaning towards Drake so their shoulders brushed against each other, “I don’t mind, DW.” he replied and he truly didn’t. The smell of the salt water and the ambient sounds of the night was nice. This was nice. Him and Drake sitting on top of the world together as if society didn’t exist below them. It was nice, and Launchpad didn’t mind the tranquility of the city before them.

Drake looked at him with a smile, and even the great Darkwing Duck himself was glad for a quiet night with his partner. His partner in so many more ways now that he had confessed his feelings all those weeks ago. Days filled with smiles and laughs as Launchpad stayed. There was no need for Launchpad to leave in the early mornings, Scrooge giving him a position in the St. Canard section of McDuck industries. Though there were promises of coming around and visits to Duckburg at the instance of one Dewey Duck.

And for what must have been the first time in quite a while, Drake was happy. He was content with his now boyfriend practically living with him. They have a daughter now to go home to. And Drake never thought he could have the perfect life, but here he was, living out his dream.

“Yeah,” Drake said, turning his head and meeting Launchpad’s lips with a kiss, “I don’t mind it either, LP.”
