Work Text:
Both of them were mesmerized by the meteors traveling through the sky in less than a blink, leaving a trail of light and stardust. The stars were shining brightly that night, not a single cloud in the dark blanket, as if knowing the importance of the moment. Bokuto was oddly quiet, his loud and energetic self nowhere to be found while he looked at the stars above, Akaashi resting his head on the others shoulder while sitting on his lap.
It was December, Christmas just a few days away, same as their three years' anniversary. They knew they would be too busy to be together (luckily they would be able to make a video call at night) so, since Akaashi had found out that there'd be a meteor shower right after they finished their exams, both males agreed to go together, half as an apology to that, and half because they wanted to spend time together.
Some time through their stargazing session, Bokuto started humming a familiar melody, laying his head on top of Akaashi's making the latter smile. Then, he looked up, directly into his boyfriend's eyes. He thought he'd forgotten how to breath, it was too beautiful, the lights of the starry night reflected in the golden of them. After a while, Bokuto stared at him, too, a curious light peeking out of his iris.
“Are you alright?” he asked.
Akaashi swallowed heavily, giving a slow nod while heat crept to his cheeks.
“I think... I've fallen in love all over again” he whispered, not daring to look away.
“I love you too, Keiji!”
And then, Akaashi felt a pair of warm lips on his own, leaving a sweet flavor once Bokuto pulled again, tightening the grip on his waist and resting his head on Keiji's shoulder.
