Work Text:
They felt like time had frozen. Looking at each other's eyes, shining under the moonlight, both guys stood without making the slightest movement. The taller male opened his mouth, hoping it wouldn't betray him when he tried to speak.
“You... It's you, I can feel it!” Bokuto said, almost inaudible voice, eyes starting to water.
Akaashi saw the male approaching him, incapable of make any movement. It was ironic, he thought, that even when he'd never believed in soulmates, it was the only word he could think of while looking deep into the golden eyes of the silvernett. Without noticing it, he also started crying, not daring to mutter a single word, knowing well that he would start sobbing the moment he opened his mouth.
Bokuto stopped in front of him, examining his face like he hadn't seen him in years. And then, before any of the boys knew it, they were hugging each other, clinging on each other as if their life was about to end. Neither of them understood why, but both felt like they had been waiting to do that for ages, like they knew the person in front of them.
Akaashi was the first to pull away, looking up slightly to meet their gazes. Then, with a shaking voice, he started to talk.
“I feel it, too” his hands were shaking, but he didn't even try to cover it. “I feel like I know you, like I've been waiting to meet you for a long time, though we've never met before.”
Keiji Akaashi wasn't someone who expressed his feeling with honesty, someone who lost his cold quickly, who let his emotions dict his actions. But in that moment, standing in front of that stranger, surrounded by the darkness and silence of the night, he let himself put down his walls.
He saw the other one swallow heavily, probably trying to regain his composure.
“Bokuto...” he started. “Koutarou Bokuto.”
The silvernett stretched out a shaking hand.
“Keiji Akaashi.”
He accepted it.
He let out a grunt, snuggling closer to the figure beside him, hiding his face on the gap between his head and the pillow trying to avoid the light coming from the window. He felt the grip on his waist tighten, knowing that Koutarou had probably waken up. The yawn coming from above his head confirmed it. He felt a pair of lips pressed on his hair, making Keiji smile.
"Morning, Keiji!"
If someone had said to him, five years ago, that he would meet the love of his life on a random night, and marry him three years later, he probably would had laughed in their face, but looking up at the now familiar shining golden eyes, covered by soft blankets in a peaceful morning, he couldn't help but smile wider, giving a little peck to the other's neck.
"Good morning, Kou"
If it was destiny, fate or pure luck, he didn't know, but he couldn't be more grateful with it for bringing him his own star.
