Naruto curled up on Kurama’s tails from where the blond was laying down in his seal space. His best friend, and tenant, looking on as the blond seemed to try and find the words he wanted to speak.
“In a way… You’ve always kept me safe, you know.”
Kurama grumbled, “Kid, I don’t think I did it for any other reason than not to have to reform when you were a child. I didn’t like humans, and that wasn’t going to change anytime soon. But if you were to die, which almost happened a few times, I would have needed to reform and with only half of my chakra available, I don’t want to think about how long that would have taken.”
Naruto hummed, “I know that, but still… I wouldn’t be here if you hadn’t been there for me. If you hadn’t kept me safe, even if it was out of self preservation more than it was out of you caring for me.”
Kurama nodded, “So what are you getting at, Naruto?”
The blond looked at the kitsune, “That I am where I am now, because of you. That you’re the one constant I have ever known, and I wanted to thank you for that. Thank you for keeping me safe, keeping me company, and for growing together with me.”
Kurama shook his head, “You deserve it, I see so much of O-Tou-San in you, so it wasn’t a hard choice when I got it. I plan on supporting you, as I believe that you will make his Vision of the future come true anyway.”
Naruto nodded, “I know that I will try my utmost best to accomplish that.”
