Planning in Bed

Summary:

Now that they are officially engaged, V decides to wake Judy up the next day and have some fun!

Notes:

My story for the Flufftober prompt event #13 - Pillow Talk

Work Text:

As V’s eyes slowly cracked opened, the first thought which crossed her mind was just how grateful she was that she had turned off her holo before her and Judy had fallen asleep. It had been an ‘eventful’ morning, to put it mildly.

After V had proposed to Judy and they had clumsily slid the engagement bands onto their fingers, they had briskly made their way back down to Judy’s apartment. By the time they had managed to make their way into Judy’s bedroom, half their clothes had been strewn on the floor behind them as they groped one another with a passion they had bever known before. A short while later, they were completely spent and had passed out from sheer exhaustion in each other’s arms.

Judging from the angle of sunlight which was shining brightly through the window outside the bedroom, V judged it had to be early in the afternoon.

My gigs!

V breathed in sharply as she started to quietly slide her way out of bed. Before she could lift herself off the mattress though, Judy’s arm wrapped itself tightly around V’s waist and pulled her back towards her. V turned to glance at Judy. Her heart instantly melted.

Judy’s eyes remained closed and the muscles in her face were relaxed. Her hair was splayed across the pillow and her mouth was slightly parted as she breathed deeply through her mouth. V though she could spot a faint trickle of drool forming near the corner of her lips. Was she even awake?

To hell with the gigs.

Instead of lifting Judy’s arm off of her, V rolled onto her side so she was facing Judy. V grabbed hold of the blanket which had covered them when they had gone to bed together, though most of it was now on her side, and pulled it back over so it wrapped over both of their shoulders. V smiled as she snuggled into her pillow and silently stared at Judy’s sleeping face, studying every inch of her beauty.

V guessed it must have been nearly half an hour when Judy stirred. Her eyes cracked open briefly before they settled shut. Her brow then furrowed as her eyes opened once again, fixating on V’s.

“Mornin’ you.” V whispered as she gently pulled Judy closer to her.

“Mmmm,” Judy managed in a low growl. “How long you been starin’ at me?”

“Not long enough.”

“Stooop.” Judy managed.

V’s smile widened into a grin before she bit her lower lip. “I can’t help myself. I’m starin’ at my bride-to-be!”

Judy’s eyes popped open in shock. “Woah! Think it just hit me. We’re actually gonna get...married.”

V nodded, still biting her lip. “Mhmm. Know what that means, don’t ya? We gotta start plannin’ shit.”

Judy groaned and buried her face into the pillow. “V-“

Shuffling closer until her face was just inches away from Judy’s, V began to graze her fingers along her shoulder, tracing the outlines of the tattoos which adorned her skin.

“I’m thinkin...maybe I wear somethin’ white, ‘cause you know, I’m all innocent and shit. Aaaand you maybe should be in somethin’ blue since you love the ocean.”

Judy lifted her head from the pillow and stared back at V.

“Seriously V?”

“What? Think you’d look smokin’ in blue.”

Judy’s mouth hung open as she shook her head in exasperation. “You gonk, it ain’t ‘bout lookin ‘smokin’ as you call it.”

“Oh shit!” V’s eyes suddenly widened as the smile quickly vanished from her face. “We really gotta think about colors! If we’re goin’ with blue and white, then we definitely gotta’ shoot for a date in winter. I mean, that drives everything, don’t it? The colors we pick?”

Judy plopped her head back against her pillow. “Please tell me you ain’t bein’ serious? V, we haven’t even been...engaged...for more than a few hours. What the fuck is all this? Your idea of pillow talk?”

V shifted and propped herself onto her elbow. “Jude, this is serious. Just like an important gig, we gotta start plannin’ for things now. Plannin’ is everything. For example, let’s talk color. If we’re gonna do blue and white, we have to have a winter wedding. Which means it’ll have to be indoors. Which means we’ll have to find a venue somewhere we can fit people in, and so on.”

“V?” Judy’s voice was muffled as she spoke into her pillow.

“What?”

Judy spoke slowly, yet clearly. “Shut the fuck up and rub my shoulders.”

V raised her eyebrows before she let out a sigh and sat up. After positioning herself on the bed, she leaned over and did as Judy instructed, working her fingers gently into Judy’s shoulders. As she worked against the knots which had formed in her muscles, V smiled as she heard a faint moan slip from Judy’s lips.

“You like chocolate?”

V saw Judy’s eyes snap back open.

“What?”

“Chocolate, do you like it?” V repeated. “Or are you more of a vanilla lover? Actually, don’t answer that. We should go with a vanilla cake since it’ll match our colors. Gonna have to find a baker though...fuck! See what I mean? This is why we gotta know what colors were goin’ with Jude! I know there’s some preem bakeries in Watson, but what if we can’t get a hall locked down?”

V froze as her voice turned into a panicked whisper. “Oh shit! Judy...where are we actually gonna tie the knot? I mean, I’m down for anythin’ you want, ceremony-wise I mean. Could totally see myself doin’ the church thing with you...although...now that you mention it, we could also-“

“V, I didn’t mention shit!” Judy blurted out as her muscles tensed.

V was lost in her thoughts however as she continued to knead her hands into the muscles of Judy’s back. “Hey Jude...how many chooms you think we’ll have attend? For the banquet I mean. Maybe it’ll help to start there so we know what size venue we need. I could check with Pan and see how many she might want to wrangle...shit Jude, you’re back is tense!”

Judy let out a frustrated sigh. “Wonder why...”

V stopped her motions and leaned down, bringing her lips close to Judy’s ear.

“You know I’m only fuckin’ with you right?” V whispered. “About all this wedding shit?”

Judy’s eyes remained shut and V could see the muscles in her jaw tighten as her hands formed into tight fists.

Oh shit, gotta act faster than a netrunner here!

V gently glided her palm over Judy’s fist which was now adorned with the thin, golden band she had bought. As her fingers delicately traced over its smooth surface, V smiled as she saw Judy’s fist begin to relax.

“Don’t care about any of that stuff,” V continued to whisper. “Only care about spendin’ every day with you for the rest of my life Judy. I should be so lucky.”

Judy’s still refused to open her eyes, though V saw the beginnings of a smile tugging at the corners of her lips.

“Think about that Judy...fallin’ asleep in each other’s arms every night, then wakin’ up the same way. It’s a beautiful life. I just...I just want you to have everything you ever wanted for when that day comes. Means a lot to me actually.”

Finally, Judy opened her eyes and glanced up towards V.

“Normally don’t like all this mushy talk, but I gotta admit it’s workin’ wonders for me now. I want all of that for you too. Tell ya what...why don’t you get back to work on my shoulders and then we’ll see about plannin’ a few things. Gotta admit, I’m a little excited myself now.”

“That’s good,” V said as she raised up and once again began to rub her hands along the muscles in Judy’s shoulders. “’Cause I’m actually startin’ to think that green might be a great color also. And you know what that means...summer wedding!”

V chuckled to herself as she caught sight of Judy rolling her eyes.

A beautiful life indeed.
