(AUTHOR'S NOTE)

This fic is not abandoned!

I don't have regular access to a computer so updates are EXTREMELY sporadic!

(Most chapters are written within an hour or two, not proof read, and honestly just pulled out of my ass. I know where I want to go with this story, so even having a basic outline makes it easy for me to come up with storyline.)

If my hands didn't cramp typing on my phone, I'd just use that, but.. it is what it is.

Chapter 1: Why is it always the Problem Child?

Chapter Text

Aizawa Shouta sighed, he had just gotten a text informing him it was Problem Child's week to do the grocery shopping. He knew he couldn't let the child go on his own, he always seems to find trouble wherever he goes. Be it a Villian attack, a cat stuck in a tree, or just plain idiocy. He texts the kid to tell him to wait for him and they'd go together. He wasn't going to let him out of his sight.

He goes to put his shoes on when his husband, Yamada Hizashi notices. He quirks and eyebrow "Where you goin' Shou?"

Aizawa sighs "It's Problem Child's turn to go grocery shopping and I'm not letting him go by himself."

Yamada snickers "Understandable. Mind if I tag along? I wanted to get some snacks myself. I've been wanting chocolate."

Aizawa rolls his eyes "Yeah, sure, whatever. Do what you want."

"YEAH!! Thanks Shou!"

After they've gotten their shoes on, they head out of the teachers dorms and head to the front of Class 1-A's dorms, sitting out front waiting patiently is Midoriya Izuku.

"Hi Sensei's! Oh? Is Mic-Sensei coming with us Aizawa-Sensei?"

Yamada replies for him "Yeah lil' listener! I wanted some snacks myself and thought I may as well tag along!"

Midoriya nods and they head off. Yamada and him carry on a conversation about who knows what, while Aizawa scans the area for any potential threats. They're getting close to the store when Midoriya skips ahead of them facing backwards has he talks to Mic. Not paying any attention to where he's going.

"-and he let me ask him all about his quirk! I still think it's funny that when he first came into class, he was all 'I'm not here to make friends' and now he's one of my best friends! And Shinsou-kun's quirk is soooooo cool Mic-Sensei! Did you know he-" At that moment he ran into someone, knocking himself and them to the ground.

Mic scrambles to help the fallen civilian up first, when she whips around to look at Midoriya with wide eyes "Oh no.." and then... MIdoriya is gone. Poof.

The two Pro's stare at the spot the kid had been with varying levels of exasperation and worry. They turn to the civilian who is looking at them with wide, panicked eyes.

"H-he.. I-I..." she begins.

"Calm down ma'am, it's alright. Was that your quirk? Do you know where he's gone?" Yamada asks calmly, even though he's currently feeling the opposite.

She takes a deep breath "Present Mic... I.. My quirk is strange.. Do you think you could take me down to the station to take my statement? I work for the Japanese government and am not supposed to or allowed to use my quirk without higher officials present. I just made a huge mistake! This-this could cause a lot of problems! I-I'm not allowed to speak about what my quirk is/does out in public. I'm so, so sorry." She has tears in her eyes.

Mic looks worriedly at Aizawa. They nod and lead her to the Musutafu Police Department. Aizawa had already contacted Tsukauchi Naomasa, letting him know ahead of time they have a problem on their hands and it of course, has to do with Midoriya.

He greets them at the door and his eyes widen as he takes in the person they have arrived with. "Shion-Sama. I would say it's a pleasure but that doesn't seem to be the case."

The two Pro's eyebrows raise at the honorific. Tsukauchi continues "Please, let us head to some place more private." They nod and follow him to an interrogation room the furthest away from other officers. They sit down and he sighs "Would you like to explain your quirk Shion-Sama?"

She nods, taking a deep breath "My quirk is called 'Hop'. It's innocent sounding but the meaning is.. complicated. Essentially, my quirk has to do with time-hopping." The two Pro's suck in a harsh breath and Aizawa nods at her to continue "It's never for certain where, and when the person affected by my quirk gets sent to. The basics is, Whomever I touch, the person, will get sent into the past, or future, to whomever they are closest too, relationship wise, within a 10m radius. They will be gone for one month in present time. But for them it could be shorter or longer amount of time where they are. The longest for someone else was 6 years. The shortest was 1 week. I've only been allowed to use my work for the Government. While being monitored obviously." She sighed "If the person goes into the past, when they come back, the people who were around them in the past will slowly forget their name, face and generally everything about them. They will be blurred out in photos and videos as well. They will remember someone else was there, they just will not remember who. That is until, they are at present time. When that certain person gets sent back. They will slowly remember those times over the month, or they will remember everything within a few weeks."

She paused when she saw the dark haired hero clutch his head "Fuck. He's in the past." he whispers slightly horrified.

"Eraser." Tsukauchi started hesitantly "How far back into the past is Midoriya-kun?"

Then Mic inhales sharply "15 Goddamn Years" he hisses.

Shion eyes widen significantly "That's the farthest anyone has gone. It must have been because I accidentally used my quirk and I was so startled! I'm so sorry, I swear I didn't meant to! We'll have to report this to the higher-ups. I can promise you, he won't be able to change anything unless he runs into his younger self and causes a paradox. Certain things in the past are set in stone. Things that can not be changed. Trust me." She whispered the last part.

"We'll write and incident report. Aizawa, Yamada, I'll be informing Nedzu for you. You can tell your class what has happened as long as you don't mention Shion-Sama's name, or what exactly her quirk does." They nod in response to Tsukauchi's statement.

"Will all the memories we get be as painful as that first one?" Aizawa asks the woman.

She smiles slightly "No, it was because it was so sudden and your brain was unprepared for the information."

He nods "Good. Come on Mic, let's get the food and head back to the Dorms. The students will want to know exactly where their classmate is. I don't want to be gone for much longer."

Mic nods and says goodbye to the two, as they walk out the door he sniffles slightly "What was your first memory from when he got there?"

Aizawa sighs "He landed in Oboro's lap. It was one of the first times I joined you guys up on the roof. I had just been transferred into class not that long ago, kinda like Shinsou now. We were chatting and just, there he was. Then he looked at me, and passed out."

Yamada chuckles lightly, then his phone buzzes, he pulls it out and winces, the caller ID says 'SleepTight'. He answers with a grimace "Hey Nem!" Aizawa looks at him with an eyebrow raised.

"Do not 'Hey Nem!' me! Why the absolute fuck did I just remember the little green bean up on the rooftop with us?" She sounded angry and worried. Yamada sighed.

"We'll tell you when we get back to campus. Sensitive information and all that. For now, try not to worry too much about it, alright?"

"Fine. But you better tell me or I'll steal all your hair products Hizashi."

He gasped in moc-offense "Nemy! How dare you! But seriously, I promise Shouta and I will explain."

"Good. See you in a bit." and she hung up.

"This is a mess." Yamada spoke quietly to Shouta, who sighed in return.

"It is. But it can not be helped."

They go and get the groceries in somber silence and make their way back to UA.

Chapter 2: Where? Wh-Aizawa-Sensei?!

Summary:

Midoriya's pov at turning up in the past.

He's obviously confused, concerned and- who's lap is he in? Wh-why does Aizawa-Sensei look so young? What's going on?!

Chapter Text

After he had hit the ground, he felt a weird tingling sensation all over his body. He looked up only to be hit with vertigo, and a strong pulling feeling. The next thing he knew, he was falling all over again, but landed on something soft.

"Oof!" he startled looking up into sky blue eyes, wide with confusion.

"Wh-what? Wh-who..." He stuttered confused. He looked down to see what they were wearing and saw he was wearing a UA uniform, Heroics, uniform. He furrowed his brows in confusion "Wh-who a-a-are y-you?" He asks still not moving from his position in this strangers lap.

Then a voice to the side of him answers "The better question is, who the hell are you?" he whips his head to the side, eyes growing even wider at the sight of his homeroom teacher. Albeit much smaller and not as scruffy.

"A-a-a...?" then his world went black.

_______________

"Good goin' Shouta" the blue haired, blue eyed boy snorted, shifting the weight of the strange boy on top of him "Why hasn't the security system gone off?" He questions.

"Dunno Oboro. Let's find out who he is!" a young blonde with swirling green eyes exclaims.

"Hizashi, we should get him to the nurse first don't you think?"

"No, Hizashi is right. We should figure out if he's a threat first and foremost." the dark scraggly looking one spoke in a deadpan voice.

"Neh, neh. Better safe than sorry!" A busty older female nodded.

The bluenette sighed, laying the person on top of him gently on the ground, searching his pockets. He pulled out what appeared to be a phone, but a newer, sleeker version he'd never seen before. Then a wallet. He opened it and took out the I.D. eyebrows raising higher and higher as he reads it.

"What?" Shouta snapped at him.

"It's just.." he sounded hesitant. "It's a UA I.D. It says, First Year. Provisional License. Hero Name: Deku. Name: Midoriya Izuku. Year 2xxx."

All three's eyes widened "That's 15 years into the future! There's no way that's possible right?!" Yamada spoke in a rush, confused and slightly panicked.

"The I.D. is real. It's an official UA I.D." Oboro sighed "C'mon. Let's get him to Recovery Girl and Inform Principal Nedzu about this."

He stood up, handing he wallet and phone to Shouta. He carefully lifted the greenette off the ground and into his arms. They made their way down the stairs and through the halls. They got some strange looks from students and teachers alike, yet no one asked.

They finally arrived to the nurses station where Nedzu had been awaiting their arrival.

"Hello! Am I a bear? A mouse? A dog? Who knows! I am Principal Nedzu! It seems to me you four have quite the problem on your hands. Aizawa-kun, hand me the wallet and phone please, and Shirakumo please lay the boy down on the bed Chiyo has open and ready!"

They did as told, and Nedzu hummed "Yes, yes it seems to me that Midoriya-kun here seems to have traveled back into the past 15 years. This is a UA official I.D. you can not fake them. That's why he didn't set off the security system. You four will not speak a word of this to anyone until we figure out how, and why this has happened understand?"

"Yes, Sir." They replied.

"You all may stay here and wait with us till he wakes up. It will be easier than having to relay information to you all." He hummed observing the boy in the bed.

Chiyo finally walked in "What has happened now?"

"Well, Shuzenji, it seems Midoriya-kun here has been sent back 15 years into the past. From what I observed he seemed fairly disoriented when he arrived, and proceeded to pass out."

She raised an eyebrow at Principal and shrugged "I'll do a full check-up and tell you what I can. But we won't know anything for sure until he wakes up."

She proceeds to check him over while the four students talk quietly to each other.

"But he's just a first year, why would he have a Provisional License?" Kayama Nemuri asks with furrowed brows.

"Who knows! But I think it's neat that he's traveled so far back! Do you think he can tell us anything about the future? Or why he landed where he did? Or-or maybe-" Yamada was cut off with a rough jab to the ribs by an annoyed Shouta.

The black haired boy pinched the bridge of his nose "We don't know if he came back on purpose or not, we don't know how long he'll be here and we'll have to wait to find out just like Recovery Girl said."

"It is quite strange that he has the Provisional License though. Usually we don't get that until second year, right Nem?" Oboro asked.

She nodded, but Nedzu decided to answer "Well, things in the future can change quite drastically. Something may have happened to cause his class to need to get their Licenses earlier than normal."

They all nodded in thought when they heard a groan coming from the bed, their heads snapped to the boy in question.

"Hello Midoriya-kun! Could you please tell me, where you are, what year it is, and what class you are in?" Nedzu spoke to the boy who still had his eyes closed.

"Uh-uhm... I-I'm.." he opened his eyes slightly and looked around a small bit "I-I'm in the nurse's office in UA, i-it's th-the year 2xxx" he paused unsure, then continued "I-I'm in c-class 1-A."

Nedzu hummed "It seems as though you've had a small mishap with time Midoriya-kun. Could you tell me what the last thing you remember is before showing up here?"

The four observing noticed his sharp intake of breath and how he seemed to shrink in on himself, breaths coming a little faster and shorter, but he still answered "I-I was going.. g-going grocery sh-shopping with Aizawa-Sensei and Yamada-Sensei.. they wouldn't let me go a-alone b-because Aizawa-Sensei s-said I'm t-to much of a t-t-trouble m-magnet to go on my own." The two boy's names who were mentions sat straighter and stared wide-eyed at the boy who continued "I-I was t-talking to Yamada-Sensei, n-not paying attention t-to where I was going... a-a-a-and...a-a-and.." his breaths were coming in much shorter and he seemed to be gasping for air.

Shirakumo was the first by his side "Hey, hey it's alright. You're gonna be alright. Let's take a few breaths shall we?" the boy looked at him with wide, glassy eyes but nodded. Oboro gently took his hand into his and laid it on his chest and walked him through a breathing exercise. "You alright to continue?"

The boy looked at him with confusion but nodded all the same "I.. uh, I bumped into someone and sent us both to the g-ground.. I got it with a s-strong wave of vertigo and the n-next thing I knew, I-I was h-h-here... I-I'm sorry I don't know more! I don't know exactly what happened, or what quirk I was hit with, and I don't know how to help or to go back? What happens if I'm stuck here? Will I ever get to see my friends again? I'm sorry really! I didn't meant to cause trouble, it was an accident I swear! I'm sorry for being a burden, a-and--"

"Midoriya-kun." Nedzu interrupted him, he slammed his jaw shut with a click, and looked away with watering eyes. "You're not at fault here by the sounds of it, so there is no need to apologize. I'm afraid there isn't much we can do to help though I am afraid, as we don't know who, or quirk was used on you." He sighed observing the defensive posture of the boy, the shaking hands and tears that slowly made their way down his chubby freckled face. "What we can do..." he started and the boy's head snapped up to him "We can enroll you into the first year course, say you're a transfer student so you can continue your education. These four here" He gestured to the students in question "Can help you adjust. Aizawa-kun, you have a two bedroom apartment to yourself yes?"

He nodded and ran a hand down his face "I do, Principal."

"Wonderful! Then we will have him stay with you if that is alright? Do not worry about money or anything of the sort, Midoriya-kun, Aizawa-kun. I will be providing you with all the money and necessities you need. UA does have a large budget after all." He smiled sharply.

"N-no! I-I wouldn't want to intrude o-or be a burden t-to Aizawa-Sen...Aizawa-San... I-I'm sure I can f-figure something out..."

Oboro scoffed "Are you kidding! You wouldn't be a burden I swear! And obviously we want to help! That's what heros do! Right Shouta?" he gave the other boy a smile as bright as the sun.

"That is correct. Assuming you'd be a burden is Illogical, you're obviously in need of help, and I'm a hero in training, what kind of hero would I be if I didn't offer help where I could?" He sighed. "But before that can happen, why don't you tell us more about yourself, like your quirk, favorite food... things like that."

"You can get to that in just a moment." Recovery Girl interrupted "I just finished with your check-up. But nothing seems out of the ordinary other than you being exhausted. Make sure you eat a good meal and get a good nights sleep tonight alright? If I hear you didn't I'll have you come back tomorrow and sleep all day in this bed, understand boy?"

"Y-yes Recovery Girl. I-it's nice to see you're the same." He gave her a small hesitant smile and she patted him on the head and exited the room.

"Now, Midoriya-kun, please, tell us about yourself!" Yamada said excitedly.

"W-well..." He started then looked at Nedzu "D-do you know of... of All Might's uh... of him..?"

Nedzu's eyes widened, peaking interest in the students around him "I do. What is your favorite number?"

"I've always been quite partial to nine. My Nana's favorite number was seven."

The words exchanged confused the other occupants of the room. But Nedzu seemed to understand fully. "Well, isn't this and interesting turn of events. I believe I should contact him then and tell him the situation as well."

Midoriya nodded "P-probably for the best... Ya-All Might was my mentor and is also a teacher in my time."

"WHAaaaaaat????!" Yamada squeaked, his quirk being quickly shut off by Aizawa. "All Might? Like, THE All Might was your MENTOR?!"

Midoriya nodded "Yeah, not the best teacher though." he grumbled and Aizawa snorted at that.

"Whoa! How was it mentoring under him though?" Oboro asked with stars in his eyes

"Well..." he lightly scratched the back of his neck "He uh, mentored me because I was a late bloomer.. If my quirk came in any sooner than it did, it could have possibly blown my libs off, and he found me with a broken a-arm.. and n-noticed h-how similar o-our q-quirks are and offered to train me... He uh... really wasn't the best... He-he tried but uh...Yeah..."

"Really? That bad?" Nemuri asked with a questioning brow.

His head whipped to her "Midnight-Sensei!" then he paused with wide eyes "I-uh-I mean-uh..."

She snorted "Don't worry the cute little head of yours~" she purred

He blushed and hid his face in his hands "A-anyway.. y-yes he was that bad.."

"Well, Midroiya-kun, I'd love to finish this conversation here, but it seems I have the number one hero to call, why don't you all head to Aizawa-kun's apartment for now, I'll send you the money for everything after my phone call. Midoriya-kun, call me if you need anything alright?"

He nodded and the Principal left. He looked to the other occupants, he was still confused as to who exactly the bluenette is, but decided not to ask. He wasn't a pro in his time and Izuku assumed something must have happened to him. Seeing as his Sensei's never spoke of the boy.

Aizawa sighed "Alright, lets go."

Chapter 3: What is the meaning of this?

Summary:

Nedzu finally figures out some of his memories.

All Might tries not to lose his shit.

Nedzu calls a meeting with the teachers involved to tell them a very important piece of information.

Chapter Text

Nedzu sat in his office, drinking his tea and humming to himself at all the memories that suddenly whipped through his brain.

He'd always wondered why that certain person in his memories could never be made out. Why he could never remember them completely. It never made sense to him. But now, he figures, it makes quite a bit of sense. Considering that particular person shouldn't be there in the first place.

He wait patiently. He knows he'll get his answers sooner rather than later.

Ring, Ring

Ah. There should be his answers now. He picks up the phone "Hello! Am I a mouse? A dog? A bear? Who knows! I am Principal Nedzu. May I ask who's calling?"

"Ah, Hello Nedzu-san. It's Tsukauchi." He hears the man sigh deeply "Do you by chance remember Shion-Sama?"

Nedzu pauses, not quite believing what he is hearing "Yes, I do. Does this have to do with why I'm suddenly remembering MIdoriya-kun being 15 years in the past?"

"Yes. Apparently, as Aizawa, Yamada and him were walking down the street, he started to walk in front of them, walking backwards, not paying attention to where he was going. Bumping into someone and sending them both to the ground. I'm assuming you can put the rest of the story together?"

Nedzu hums in confirmation "Yes. I just find it quite intriguing that out of all the people MIdoriya-kun could have possibly run into, it was Shion-san. The possibilities of this occurring are not high. But I must say, I'm not that surprised."

The detective huffs a quiet laugh "I can honestly say I'm not either. I sent Aizawa and Yamada back. You should probably talk to them about this, since them and Midnight will most likely be the most effected out of all this."

"Oh yes! I plan to do just that. Thank you Detective. Have a good rest of your night!" and he hangs up, grimacing. He needs to tell them, because if Midoriya comes back in the state he thinks he's going to... Well, they need to be prepared for the worst.

Yagi bolted upright in his chair. A strange image. A memory. His mind supplies, just flashed through his head.

But, that can't be right. He sighs heavily and makes his way to the Principals office, because there's no way that can be right.

___________________________________

Aizawa sighs heavily as him and Yamada reach the 1-A dorms. As they open the doors they're greeted by most of the students in the common room. He nods to Hizashi to take the groceries to the kitchen and makes his way further into the commons.

"Iida, we are having an emergency meeting. Please text your classmates that are not here to be here in 5 minutes or they'll have detention."

His voice had startled almost all the kids down here at the moment "Y-yes sir! But may I ask where MIdoriya-kun is? Shouldn't he be here for this as well?"

"Wait! You went with him! Is this about him?!" Uraraka asks slightly panicked.

Aizawa sighs deeply "Do not worry about that at the moment, I will be going over all this once everyone else has arrived."

Slowly, the students that were not there previously pile into the room, all with questioning glances.

"Alright everyone, listen up. As you can tell Midoriya is not here." He pauses, waiting for the inevitable outcry.

"What happened?!"

"Is he alright?! Is he alive?!"

"Another villain attack??"

"Quiet." He tells them with a quirk enhanced glare. Once they all settle down he continues "He's.. alive. There was an incident on the way to the store and your classmate just so happened to bump into a civilian who has a time-hopping quirk. They were startled and accidently used it on Midoriya. Your classmate is currently 15 years in the past. He will be back in a month."

"What do you mean 15 years in the past?!"

"How do you know exactly Sensei?"

"Of course that fucking nerd would find away to fuck up by just going out to get groceries. Fucking figures."

"Bro! No way? That far back? Holy shit!"

Aizawa sighs once again, wishing this was over already, as he's about to speak up, Hizashi comes in and speaks instead "We know he's 15 years in the past because of the way the quirk works. We won't go into details, but he ended up with Aizawa, me and our friends. We will be getting flashes of this memories through the month. We had one earlier and that's why we know just how far back he is."

Momo's eyebrows are furrowed "But.. If he's with you, why didn't you know this was going to happen? Weren't you confused when you saw him for the first time in class?"

"No, because of the way the quirk and our brains work, after he disappeared from the past, coming back to the present, our memories of him slowly started altering so when we did see him, it wouldn't cause a problem." Yamada tried explaining with as little amount of detail as possible, they aren't allowed to talk to much about it as per the agreement.

"Whoa! That's neat! I knew quirks were complicated but man.." Kirishima rubbed the nape of his neck.

"Well that's all for now. Mic and I still grabbed the groceries so you all have food. Like I said, he'll be back in a month so there's no need to worry."

"Should we take extra notes for him, Sensei?" Iida asks, obviously worried for his friend.

Aizawa nods, "Yes, but he attends UA with us, so depending on.. how long he's there for, he might be ahead of the curriculum."

"Wait. You said he'd be gone for a month, what do you mean by 'how long he's there for'?" Mina asks completely confused. Others nod their head at her question, confused as well.

Aizawa groans, he just wants to be done with this so he can go talk to Nemuri and then go to bed. "Time is weird. He'll be gone for a month, present time. But for him it could be anywhere from a few weeks to a few years. We aren't sure yet because as I said, we will slowly be gaining our memories back, from that time."

His students nod their heads and he dismisses them. He walks out with Hizashi by his side when their phones ping.

Nedzu:

Please meet me in my office.

Aizawa runs a hand down his face, he just wants to sleep. He's tired, and so, so done with today. Hizashi places a hand on his shoulder and shoots him a reassuring smile.

They make their way to the rat's office. When they enter they're greeting by the rat himself, Yagi and Nemuri.

They sit down and Nedzu starts "I'm sure you all are aware as to why you're here. But I'll explain it once more just for those not completely sure. MIdoriya-kun was sent back into the past 15 years because of a quirk accident. Memories that were hazy or confusing will start making sense to you all. I am aware that all your memories will form over the month that he is gone in present time, but because of my memory, and my quirk. I remembered them all in rapid succession." He looks each one of them in the eye. They nod for him to continue, but none of them like the shaky breath he takes.

"MIdoriya-kun will be in the past for a whole year for him." He pauses, looking Aizawa in the eye "Aizawa-kun, he went on a work study with you and Shirakumo."

Aizawa's eyes widen with recognition, Nedzu continues "He and Shirakumo, were together in the past. None of us knew if he'd ever be sent back to now, so they took a risk. But all of you must be aware. The day that MIdoriya-kun comes back, is they day Shirakumo Oboro dies."

The other occupants in the room eye's widen in horror.

"No." Hizashi whispers and takes his husbands hand into a tight hold.

"I-I don't remember the boy well..." Yagi starts but stops with the glare Midnight sends him. She has tears in her eyes as well, taking Mic's free hand into hers.

Nedzu clears his throat "When he comes back, we need to be ready for the worst. He could be hurt badly for all we know. There are many factors we need to be prepared for. I know the quirk he was hit with well, and the day he's supposed to come back, you three, at the least, will feel a tugging sensation in your stomach. Please, you three will know him better by then, you must be prepared to open old wounds, you must be prepared for a new wave of grief that this will bring. But I ask you all, please, help Midoriya-kun the best you can when he comes back."

"Nedzu-san... I understand where you're coming from, but why are you asking this of them so kindly? You're not one to.." Yagi isn't quite sure how to finish his sentance.

"Because Toshinori, in the past I ended up taking him on as a personal student. He's one of the only humans I truly care for."

The room sits in a somber silence.

Chapter 4: Formal Introductions

Summary:

Aizawa doesn't trust the newcomer much.
Yamada is ecstatic to learn things.
Kayama likes to make things awkward.
Shirakumo flirts with no shame.

And Izuku? Izuku is just a mess.

Chapter Text

Shouta sighs, he knows this is a touchy situation and he doesn't have the best social skills. He walks behind the group with the Midoriya kid next to him, side-eyeing him the whole way.

Oboro sits on a cloud and floats ahead of the group, chatting loudly, trying to make conversation. It's not really going anywhere, and that's when Yamada interrupts him.

"Oh! You might know us, but we haven't formally introduced ourselves!" He turns smiling widely at Midoriya who startles slightly "I'm Yamada Hizashi! My hero name is gonna be Present Mic!"

Shouta sees a small, real smile cross the greenettes face.

"And I am Kayama Nemuri! I ended up with the Hero name Midnight!" She purrs and smirks as she watches Midoriya's face blossom a cute pink.

Shouta sighs, he knows this kid must know him in the future obviously. But he still doesn't quite trust him. His situation and reaction to it seem believable enough, but he's hiding something. So he squints his eyes at him, scrutinizing him and speaks "Aizawa Shouta. Eraserhead." He watches as the other looks away, eyes shinning slightly and feels a small tug in his chest. He feels... bad. He doesn't know how he'd react to this situation, but the thinks Midoriya is handling it oddly well. For now, at least.

"My name is Shirakumo Oboro! Since my quirk has to do with clouds, I chose the name Loud Cloud for my hero name!" Oboro winks and Midoriya, but Shouta watched his head snap to Oboro, a questioning look on his face. When Oboro said his name, Midoriya frowned and eyebrows drew together. Shouta wasn't sure how to feel about that.

Midoriya looked at all of them and spoke hesitantly "I-I'm M-Midoriya Izuku... M-m-my hero name is uh.. uhm.. Deku.."

Oboro floats closer to him, a frown on his face "I saw that earlier on your student ID card. Doesn't Deku mean useless?"

Shouta sighs, they're almost to his apartment, so before Midoriya can answer he interrupts "We're almost there. We can have this conversation after I have some coffee."

Midoriya snorts at that "I-it's nice to s-see some things d-don't change."

Now Oboro is right in front of Midoriya and he reaches out slowly and ruffles his hair, the other blushes a crimson red and Shouta has to fight hard not to roll his eyes.

They've all gotten settled in Aizawa's living room. Kayama is sitting on the floor next to the tail end of the coffee table, Yamada and Aizawa on the couch sitting comfortably next to each other. While Shirakumo and Midoriya sit on the opposite side of the coffee table facing the two. With Midoriya in-between Kayama and Shirakumo.

"Sooooo~ Mido-kun~" Kayama starts with a purr, leaning ridiculously close to the boy who is not-so-subtlety leaning away "Why did you choose the name Deku for your hero name?"

They all are watching him, and he shrinks into himself slightly "W-well... You know how I said I was a late-bloomer?" they nod and he continues, looking at the floor "I... I was a r-really late-bloomer.."

Aizawa scoffs "What? So you were like, 9 or something?"

Midoriya flinches slightly and Aizawa bites his tongue "T-try more l-like 15..." He speaks quietly.

All their eye's widen, but Yamada is the first to speak up "WHAT? That's impossible!"

Shirakumo looks at the boy sadly and puts a comforting arm around his shoulders, he feels him stiffen at the touch, but all of them notice when he melts into it after a moment.

"I-I know.. but.. it happened.. a-anyway.. So... I pretty much grew up quirkless. I'm not sure how they're treated right now.. but for my generation it isn't.. it isn't very good.. u-um.." He sniffles slightly, still not looking at any of them, but he feels the arm around his shoulder tighten slightly, it doesn't feel threatening... more.. protective than anything.

Aizawa speaks up now "They aren't treated well. I was... always told I have a villain's quirk. But there was a quirkless girl in my middle school and she was verbally harassed constantly. The teachers put a stop to it when she was in their sight. When the other kids knew there were no teachers around though.. It was quite awful. I.. I stood up for her a few times, but one time I found her in a classroom that was empty with a bloody nose and a black eye. I reported it to the teachers and the ones responsible were punished. After that she switched schools."

Midoriya looks up at him, and they all see the tears streaming down his face "Th-the teachers actually did something?" and their hearts shatter at the whispered question.

Shirakumo carefully takes his other hand and puts it on his chin, turning his face to him, his eyebrows are furrowed and his eyes are sad "Did your teachers not?"

That rips and ugly sob out of his throat, he shakes his head "No.. half the time they encouraged it or-or egged them on.. Either that or they ignored it completely... but uh.. that-that's not wh-what we're t-talking about.." he turns his head away again.

The others in the room share warry glances but all nod agreeing to drop it. For now.

"S-so.. My uh, childhood f-friend.. He read the kanji in my name wrong.. he read it as 'Deku' and it just stuck.. but then he got his quirk.. and I didn't.. He then started using it to insult me. That was the name all the other kids called me and even some of my teachers in middle school did. B-but then coming to UA... It was like a dream come true and.. and my first friend.. my first real friend changed the meaning of it." His voice got more confident as he continued "She said that it sounds like 'You can do it!' o-or the 'Deku who can!' She completely changed the meaning of it for me and... and I wanted to make the name my own.. s-so when someone would call me that, i-it wouldn't be h-hurt me anymore..."

Kayama spoke "Ohhhh? She sounds like a very special friend~"

Maybe if Midoriya wasn't so tired and emotionally drained who would have thought before he spoke "That's not it. 'Sides I'm straight as a circle."

It was quiet for a moment before Yamada burst out laughing. Aizawa chuckled slightly beside him and Midoriya burried his face in his hands in mortification. The arm around his shoulder never loosened, in fact it got a little tighter and Shirakumo whispered into his ear "That makes all of us."

Midoriya squeaked and threw himself on the floor, still hiding his face "I-I didn't m-mean to say that!" He screeched.

They all got a good laugh out of that.

It was awhile later after they've eaten, when Yamada, Kayama and Shirakumo said they had to head home for the night. They said goodbye and each gave Midoriya either a hair ruffle or in Shirakumo's case, a big bear hug.

It was.. Awkward for awhile till Aizawa cleared his throat "Look.. I don't know what you're going through or feeling.. I don't.. I don't know you well, so I don't trust you that much. But I'm willing to give you the benefit of doubt here. But I need you to be honest and open with me. Alright?"

Midoriya met his eyes and nodded.

"Alright. I know there's a secret behind your quirk. You didn't mention it much and never directly answered what, exactly it was. No 15 year old just randomly gets a quirk. You've had it for what? A few months at most?"

He nodded "Y-yes.. It's.. I need to talk to Nedzu before I can tell you b-because it's technically a national secret..."

Aizawa's eyebrows rose "Alright. That's fine than. Can you at least tell me what it does?"

"It's a strength augmentation quirk. W-when I first got it, I broke my bones a lot.. b-but I've learned! I-I can control it now..."

Aizawa watches as he curls in on himself slightly "You broke your bones?"

Midoriya nods "I got in solely on rescue points.. I took down the 0 Pointer to save someone stuck under some rubble.. but I uh-uh broke both my legs and an arm.."

Aizawa just stares at him incredulously. "Well then."

It's quiet for a moment longer while he tries to wrap his head around it "So.. I have other questions but I suppose those can wait for now. I have a futon in the spare room and we both need to sleep. We should have that money Nedzu promised after school tomorrow then we can go shopping for the things you need. Sound good?"

He hums in acknowledgment and Aizawa lead him to the room and helps him get set up. After he's sure Midoriya is asleep he heads into his own room and flops on his bead. Today was to hectic for him. He wants more answers. The one question he wants answered the most is, why does he know everyone but Oboro?

Chapter 5: Do we need to shut down a school?

Summary:

Hizashi gains his memories of that night first. He decides he needs to talk to Nedzu about it. Then he'll talk to Nem and Sho about it later.

Chapter Text

Hizashi was in the middle of teaching his homeroom, when he suddenly spaced out. The kids were looking at him with worry. They watched as his eyes widened and he inhaled sharply. The students shared worried glances as he pulled out his phone.

Hizashi messaged Nedzu, telling him he needed a sub and to talk to him urgently about one of the memories. He got confirmation that another would be there shortly. He looked up to his students and gave them a strained smile "Hey listeners, I need to go talk to the principal about something. Your sub will be here shortly!" He then ran out of the room, making his way to Nedzu's office.

He arrived fairly quickly and the door opened for him "Hello Yamada! What did you need to discuss so urgently?" Nedzu inquired with a tilt of his head/

HIzashi sat down in the chair across from the rat "I just remembered the night that we took Midoriya to Shouta's. He said something disturbing about his school life from before UA and I feel like we should investigate."

Nedzu looked on curiously "Disturbing how?"

He took a deep breath "He mentioned he was Quirkless until he was 15 first of all." He noticed Nedzu's fur stand on end slightly but continued "When Shouta talked to him about a girl in his middle school and how she was treated... Well, Shouta told him how the teachers took care of it and..." his voice cracked just remembering the heartbroken look on the kids face.

"He looked at us with the most heartbroken face and said 'the teachers did something about it?' Like, what?"

"Yamada. How did this topic of conversation come up? If you can remember."

"Shirakumo asked about his hero name. Deku. Did you know kids and apparently some of his middle school teachers called him that to call him useless?"

Nedzu bristled at that "I will look into the school. But I'm afraid we won't be able to do anything without evidence. I'll get an investigation going so no one else will have to suffer his fate."

Hizashi nodded, then added hesitantly "Look into Bakugou as well, please?"

"May I ask why?"

"They went to the same middle school didn't they? He also said that his childhood friend gave him the nickname first."

Nezu nodded his head and dismissed him. He left the office in a somber mood. He went back to his class and continued teaching, much less enthusiastic that usual. Eventually time for lunch rolled around and Hizashi found himself in the teachers lounge. Silently staring off into space. He didn't notice when Shou or Nem came in, he only noticed after Shouta laid a hand on his shoulder startling him. He looked up into worried dark grey eyes "You alright Zashi?"

He shook his head slightly "Have either of you gained anymore memories?"

They shook their heads and he let out a weary sigh "Did either of you know Midoriya was Quirkless until he was 15?"

Shouta froze and his eyes widened "What?"

"The first night... Oboro asked him about his hero name. Apparently people used to call him that, meaning useless. But, it was changed to meaning 'You can do it!' People called him that because he was Quirkless."

"How is that even possible?" Nemuri asked with furrowed brows.

"I dunno.. Maybe a turama quirk?" Hizashi questioned weakly not really wanting to think about it.

"Shit. I almost expelled him the first day because I didn't know that. Why didn't he tell me?" Shouta asked almost desperately.

"Shou, what would you have done if you were told he had just gotten his quirk? You probably would have expelled him. You know that." Hizashi stated sadly.

"Well he should have said something later! We could have given him extra training so he didn't have to break so many of his god damned bones/"

They sat in silence for awhile, all contemplating what they could have done differently. Then Nemuri sighed "Well.. There's nothing we can do about it now. It's in the past. But when he gets back, we can try and talk to him about it. He'll definitely need therapy."

"Wait." Shouta started with narrowed eyes "Bakugou and him went to the same middle school, they were childhood friends, Bakugou calls him Deku."

Hizashi sighed and grabbed his hand "I already have Nedzu looking into it. That and his middle school. Apparently the teachers encouraged the bullying. That or straight up ignored it."

Shouta squeezed his hand tighter at that "What."

"No wonder he didn't tell us... He probably doesn't trust any of us enough.." Nem stated sadly, looking close to tears.

"He said that the Quirkless were treated worse in his generation, should we... should we look up the statistics?" Hizashi questioned nervously. He wasn't sure if he really wanted to know, but he knew he needed to in order to understand his student better.

Shouta nodded, let go of his hand and typed into the computer.

"Quirkless Statistics"

The first result made them all inhale sharply.

"Quirkless Suicide Rate"

Shouta clicked on it, and they read.

For the newest generation of the Quirkless, 75% die by suicide or hate crimes before they reach the age of 15. Most common reasons are due to heavy bullying and abuse. Abandonment by family and friends. Most others don't live past the age of 25 due to suicide or murder.

In the newest generation the most common causes of death for those who are Quirkless is suicide or Murder because of hate crimes.

The Quirkless tend to develop Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, and many other mental health problems. Most due to neglect, isolation and abuse.

A few of the younger children diagnosed as Quirkless may end up with forced Quirk manifestations. Forced Quirk manifestation happens because of heavy abuse, high stress situations or being near death. This is rare but has happened on more than one occasion. The Discrimination and abuse the Quirkless go through now a days has lead to more and more forced manifestations. Usually, the closer the child is to death, the stronger the quirk. We aren't sure why this happens. We've seen an increase of 40% of the children diagnosed as Quirkless end up with force manifested quirks. But the ones who remain Quirkless have often not survived. Less than 25% of the newer generation of Quirkless has made it to highschool. The ones who have gained quirks have ended up committing suicide still because they are not able to handle the mental health tolls that come along with those manifestations.

They were absolutely Horrified by what they have read.

"Do.. Do you think Midoriya's quirk was force manifested?" Hizashi asked with tears in his eyes.

Shouta looked near tears himself but cleared his throat and sat up straight "I'm not sure.. But I know we'll figure it out.. And we'll give him the help and love he deserves."

Chapter 6: All Might?

Summary:

Pretty much Midoriya meeting All Might in his prime.
Things kinda go downhill fast and Nedzu isn't happy with the symbol of peace.

Chapter Text

Midoriya woke up sore and confused. He sat up slowly, and looked around the bare room he was resting in. Then he remembered what had transpired yesterday. His breathing started to pick up and he blatantly realized he was starting to panic.

What am I supposed to do? What can I tell them? I won't have anyone here to help me with my quirk? Wait! What about mom? My friends? All Might? He hadn't realized that his breathing was picking up and continued on the thoughts of his time. He missed his Mom. He wanted his mom. He didn't hear the low whine that escaped his throat, to caught up in the want for his mother.

Aizawa on the other hand had been up for awhile and was making coffee when he heard the distressed sound, so he slowly made his way to his guest room where the strange boy was, he knocked "Midoriya-kun? Are you alright?"

He didn't like that he got no response, his brows furrowed and then he heard another distressing sound escape the boy. He gently opened the door to fine Midoriya on the floor hugging his knees with tears running down his freckled face. Aizawa stopped and stared for a moment, he didn't know what to do. He'd never been in this position before and he himself has never been one to offer comfort, that was more of a Hizashi and Oboro thing. But he didn't want to see him suffer so he slowly walked forward and knelt in front of him "Midoriya-kun, what's wrong?" His voice was way more gentle than what he was used to sounding like.

Midoriya didn't even flinch, didn't have an obvious reaction to Aizawa at all. He frowned, he wasn't sure what he was supposed to do. You aren't supposed to just.. touch people when dealing with panic attacks right? He sighed deeply and sat on the floor in front of Midoriya and spoke again "Midoriya-kun, I'm not the best person to help you with this... But uh, if you can hear me, can you nod?"

He patiently awaited a response and when he got none, he scooted a bit closer, hand reaching out hesitantly. He gently lowered his hand onto the other's hand that was gripping the fabric of his pants. That startled Midoriya into looking up at him, Aizawa tried to send him a reassuring smile, but he knew it probably looked more like a grimace than anything. "Midoriya-kun, can you tell me five things you can see?" Ah, so now he remembers what to do, kinda.

"Y-you... Th-the trees outside th-the w-window.. uh-uhm... th-the c-carpet.. th-the futon.. th-the wall.."

"Good job Midoriya-kun, now what are four things you can touch?"

"Uh-uh.. you-your hand.. m-my pants... th-the carpet... m-my hair.." He ran his fingers along the things as he spoke about them, and Aizawa can see that he was already calming down quite a bit.

"You're doing really well, now what are three things you can hear?"

"Y-your voice.. the wind... uh-uhm my h-heart b-beat.."

"Good job Midoriya, good job.. How about two things you can smell?"

"F-fabric cleaner? A-and c-coffee.."

Aizawa smiled gently at that, he had just taken a large sip of some before he came in here "Alright, you're doing wonderful, how about one thing you can taste?"

Aizawa watched as the boy smacked his mouth once and grimaced "I can-can taste my morning breath." he admitted with a scrunch of his nose.

He chuckled and let his hand go "Alright, feeling better? Do you wanna.. talk about it? Or would you like a distraction?"

Midoriya looked at him and studied his face for a moment, apparently liking what he saw he nodded his head once "I was just.. just thinking about my mom and uh, h-how much I miss her.. That and my-my classmates.. things like-like that.."

Aizawa's mouth turned down slightly into a sad frown "Well.. I know we don't know how to get you back.. But.. I hope I can uh.." He paused feeling slightly embarrassed "We can.. make you feel at home here... I know, it won't be the same.. But just know you have people on your side.."

The other nodded and sent him a small smile. "Oh, Nedzu wanted us at the school early. He has something he wants to discuss with you before school starts. Oboro, Nemuri, Hizashi and I will be waiting outside his office as his request. He didn't tell me why. You can also borrow my spare uniform so you don't feel to out of place."

Midoriya nodded at him and they proceeded to get ready for the day, as they finished up eating breakfast and heading out Aizawa paused "Like I said yesterday, I don't.. I don't know you well.. But I'd like to help you. If you ever need anything and you don't feel like you can go to the others.. I'm here."

He watched as green eyes filled with unshed tears, but a bright smile found it's way to Midoriya's face "Thank you Aizawa-san.. I appreciate it.."

_______________________

As they entered the school they were greeted by Shirakumo, Yamada, and Kayama.

Shirakumo trotted up first "Man! I've never been to school this early, I wonder what Nedzu-San wants with us, any ideas?"

Midoriya hummed in thought for a moment before his eyes grew wide "I think I have an Idea..."

Yamada raised an eyebrow at him "Oh? And what might that be Midoriya-kun?"

"Well... We... Principal Nedzu and I needed to talk to All Might.. It-it might b-be that o-or about my Identity.. Since I was born only-only a few months ago.. I can't.. I can't go around with the-the same n-name.. it would be to suspicious.."

Aizawa nodded as they walked along "Both are logical conclusions."

"Oh man!" Kayama started with a bright grin "Could you imagine if All Might were here?"

Yamada and Shirakumo smiled brightly back at her "Yeah! It would be so cool to meet him!" Yamada started.

"Wow. The number one hero." Shirakumo's voice sounded airy and Midoriya watched his eyes shine brightly with intrest.

They finally made it to the Principal's door, Yamada was about to knock when Midoriya stopped him, he sent him a questioning glance when Midoriya pointed up at the corner of the door frame, Yamada squinted but he didn't see anything. Midoriya huffed a laugh and waved to the invisible camera "Hi Principal Nedzu, we're here."

The doors opened and the four behind Midoriya gaped.

"How did he know that was there?!?" Kayama whispered in ferocious disbelief.

"I have no Idea!" Yamada whispered back.

When the four looked in, they froze, because sitting in front of Nedzu was All Might.

Midoriya walked in, only slightly in awe of see All Might in his prime. He was so used to seeing the man sickly and coughing up blood, it was almost a character trait at this point.

"Ah! Shirakumo-kun, Aizawa-kun, Kayama-kun, Yamada-kun. I'll have you four wait outside for the moment. If all goes well, you'll be joining us in about 15 minutes." Nedzu smiled with sharp glinting teeth and the four swallowed sharply, bowing and backing away as the doors shut.

Midoriya took a seat adjacent to Nedzu and All Might.

All Might looked at the boy with an eyebrow raised "So.." He started almost nervously "You wanted me to meet a boy who's traveled 15 years into the past.. What I don't understand is why Principal."

Nedzu looked over to Midoriya "Well, Midoriya-kun... Why don't we start with your favorite number, hm?"

Midoriya looked straight into All Might's eyes and nervously started "W-well.. I've always been quite partial to nine.. My Nana's favorite number was 7 and.. Her son, Toshinori's.." All Might flinched at his name "Favorite number was 8.."

The two watched as things clicked in All Might's head and his eyes widened "You're my successor for One For All."

Midoriya nodded, then Nedzu spoke "Yes. He is Yagi-San. Now, we know you're quite a busy man at the moment. The fact that you had to travel here from America over night just to have this conversation proves just how important this conversation is. I have a feeling I know what Midoriya-kun here would like to ask, so I'll let him." He nodded to the boy.

Midoriya swallowed nervously and looked down "You-you're busy.. and in your prime right now and I'm-I'm so sorry for being such and inconvenience.. b-but.." His voice shook "I don't.. I'm still learning how to use One For All.. And I'll need help... Three of the people outside that door are my future teachers.. I was... I was hoping I could t-tell them-"

He was interrupted by a hand slamming down on Nedzu's desk and he flinched away "No! Absolutely not! This is a very large and dangerous secret my boy!"

"Now, now Yagi-San. Let the boy continue."

Midoriya was trying to hold back the tears that threatened to escape his eyes and his voice wobbled dangerously as he continued "I-I w-wanted t-to t-tell th-them so-so th-they c-could h-help me since.. since you-you w-won't be a-able too.. I.. I trust them.. Yagi-san.. I-I trust them s-so m-much.."

He heard a huff but didn't dare look up "Absolutely not. Just because they may be trust worthy in the future does not mean they are now. I refuse. Now, Principal, I must get going." He stood up to leave and Nedzu cleared his throat.

As All Might looked back he flinched from the dark look on the Principal's face "I hope you understand what a great disservice you are doing your future successor All Might. Have a wonderful flight."

As All Might exited he didn't even glance at the four seated just outside the door. The four looked to each other with looks of concern and furrowed eyebrows, but Shirakumo shot up as he heard a sob from the Principal's office.

He walked in to see Nedzu rubbing a comforting paw on Midoriya's back as he was hunched over with tears escaping his eyes.

Shirakumo didn't realize the other three followed after him, but Nedzu looked up to them a sad frown painted on his face. "Please, come in and shut the doors behind you."

Shirakumo approached the greenettes side and slowly pulled him into a hug, he didn't expect the other to latch on to him and sob. He frowned at the Principal, then scowled as he spoke in a dangerous tone "What did Ass Might do?"

He heard a snort from Shouta, and spluttering come from Nem and Zashi.

Nedzu sighed as he got back into his chair "What I tell you all absolutely can not leave this room. Am I understood?"

They all looked to the sobbing boy in Oboro's arms, turned back to the Principal with fiery determination in their eyes and nodded.

"Midoriya-kun's quirk came in late because it was passed onto him my All Might."

Midoriya's head shot up and looked to the Principal with wide disbelieving eyes "Nedzu-san! You-you can't! He-he said not-not to-to say anything!" his voice cracked as he spoke and Oboro just held him tighter, a scowl crossing his face.

"Midoriya-kun. I'm doing this with your best interest at heart. I was going to tell them either way. It saddens me that I have to go behind his back, but you're going to need all the help you can get. I trust these four to be that help you need."

Midoriya looked down and just slumped into Oboro and nodded, so Nedzu continued, he told them the story of One For All, how it was created, how it's been passed down for generations. At the end of his speech the four students had their jaws on the floor, gaping at Midoriya with disbelief.

"Is there anything you'd like to add on Midoriya-kun?"

He nodded, still slumped against Oboro with his eyes closed "I believe One For All is sentient. Or at the least haunted."

Nedzu's eyes widened "Please, elaborate."

"I've been.. Having dreams recently. About the past users. The fifth, Daigoro Banjo or Lariat.. He spoke to me and told me I should..should be getting his quirk soon.. So not only does it stockpile strength.. but quirks and I believe part of the users souls.."

The other occupants in the room, including Nedzu stared at the boy with wide eyes. "That is quite a problem." Nedzu stated seriously.. "We'll.. come back to that.. for now... You need a new Identity Midoriya-kun.."

He nodded and sat up "I was thinking something simple. Like Akatani Izuku.. That way I can still use my given name. Also, maybe dye my hair black? Get contacts or something?"

Nedzu nodded with approval "For today, I'll introduce you to the teachers and explain your situation to them as well. You'll be in class 1-A with your friends here. You'll stay in the staff lounge while school continues and then after school I'll give you the money you need for everything. You four are dismissed for now. I'll see you after school at the staff lounge to pick Midoriya-kun up."

They nodded "Yes sir, Midoriya-kun. Remember what I told you this morning." Aizawa nodded to him and proceeded to leave.

Yamada approached him and gave him a big hug "You go this man! We'll be right by your side the whole way!"

Kayama came up next and held his face in her hand "I know I'm a year older, but if you ever need me I'm in class 2-A." She smiled and pinched his cheeks and left with Yamada.

Shirakumo slowly approached and took him into his arms again "I don't know what all you've been through.. But I'll make sure you're safe, the best I can. Everything will work out, I just know it!" He hugged him a bit tighter and let go.

Midoriya looked up to him with rosy cheeks "Thank you Shirakumo-kun.."

"Oboro, Call me Oboro." He smiled sweetly at him and Midoriya's face grew warmer.

"Then call me Izuku.. Ha-have a g-good day O-oboro.."

"You too, Izuku. See you after school!" He happily skipped out the door.

Chapter 7: Yagi's In Trouble

Summary:

Yagi only has one memory of Young Midoriya in the past, and he feels absolutely terrible for how he had treated him. He definitely thinks he deserves whatever the other teachers dish out at him.

Oh, Aizawa is pissed

Chapter Text

It's only been a day or so since he got the memory of Young Midoriya in the past. He's been sitting in the staff room thinking about it. Thinking about just how badly he messed up. He really should have let the boy tell someone. He shouldn't have been so short with him. He should have listened. But he had just been so busy. He wasn't thinking about how his words or actions would have effected the boy.

He sighs harshly and pushes himself up. He needs to talk to Nedzu. A part of him hopes Nedzu did something about it. Hopes that for once, Nedzu hadn't listened to him.

He goes to knock on the door, which opens before he has the chance "Hello Yagi-san, what can I help you with?" he can't help the shiver that runs down his spine at the dark glint in the principals eyes.

"W-well... I've been thinking about the only memory I've had of Young Midoriya in the past... and.. I was hoping-"

"Ah, you mean when denied him help? Denied him the chance to grow?"

Yagi merely nods with a frown "Yes... I was hoping.. that you didn't listen to me.. That you helped him in a way I obviously didn't.."

Nedzu observes the man for a moment. Surprised. He hadn't expected him to actually feel remorse for his past actions, considering the fact that the man didn't let the poor boy have a support system in present time. He hums then answers slowly "Yes.. I did. I let him tell Aizawa-san and the three other students. Seeing as he was already leaning on them for support and I thought they would be the best to help him at the time. Yamada would be able to help him with control, Aizawa could cancel his quirk if it got to be too much. Shirakumo for support and Kayama, as she had more experience at the time."

Yagi nods, not looking the principal in the eyes "Good... good.. He.. He's a good child, and deserves all the help he can get.. since I won't be there to help him improve. I just.. Nedzu-sama, I was so rude to him.. Do you think I'll be able to make it up to him?"

"I suppose that will be up to him when he comes back. Though I should warn you, Aizawa will not be happy when he remembers being told about Ofa."

Yagi stiffens and his eyes widen for just a moment, Eraserhead could be right terrifying. He took a shaky breath, and nodded "I suppose I deserve whatever he has in store for me then."

Nedzu hums again, pleasantly surprised at Yagi's admittance. "If that is all, your Heroics lessons start soon, so you should go prepare."

Shouta sighed as he slumped in his seat next to Hizashi and Nemuri in the staff room, he had essay's he needed to grade and he wasn't looking forward to it. He had assigned it on how to notice trauma victims, how to tell the difference between someone who was shy, and someone who actually needed the help. He was working on Kaminari's when his pen stopped.

"-was passed onto him from All Might..."

He sat up straighter, eyes widening as the memory started to play in his head. Hizashi noticed first and placed a hand on top of his.

"-quirk is called One For All... It is a quirk that is able to be passed on from one person to the next. It stockpiles strength. Midoriya-kun here is the Ninth holder."

The memory continues, explaining the backstory of this quirk. A sacred torch. One he wasn't made aware of. He should have been told. He's Midoriya's homeroom teacher for goodness sake! He could have helped, instead of seeing a stuck up child who, had his quirk and just never bothered to learn how to use it. God, he needs to apologize to Midoriya when he gets back. He treated him terribly, because he didn't know.

"One for All...?" A voice next to him spoke, he looked over to see Nemuri with furrowed eyebrows. Ah, seems she's remembering it as well. He looked over to Hizashi, who now had his hand in a death grip, and a scowl on his face.

"Who in their right mind would give a child such a dangerous quirk?" His husband growled and Shouta was thinking the same.

"My question is, Why the hell wasn't I told?" He huffs angrily "I'm his homeroom teacher! I should have been told!"

He stand abruptly, chair rolling back into the window sill. He starts stomping towards the door, when he feels a hand on his shoulder, its Nemuri with a scowl on her face "If you're going to confront the bastard, we're going with you." He nods and they all make their way to where All Might was currently teaching class. Class be damned.

_______________

Katsuki was itching for a fight, thankfully they were going to be doing sparing in heroics today. He needed to hit something. It's been weird without the nerds fucking muttering, his annoying ass pen scratching at the pages in his notebooks. It's been a constant in Katsuki's life and he didn't realize how much he'd miss it. That thought pissed him the fuck off.

But as All Might was about to announce the pairings, the door to the gym burst open, and now, Katsuki isn't a coward, but the dark look on his three teacher's faces made him shudder uncomfortably. Yes, he's seen Aizawa-sensei pissed, but he's never seen such a murderous look on his face before, and it was aimed at All Might. All chatter has stopped, everyone staring at the three who looked about ready to commit a felony. Heh. He'd like to see that. He crosses his arms in annoyance though, he just wants to spar. But whatever is about to go down, he thinks, is going to be good

"All Might." Aizawa growled, all the students, including Katsuki, watched with wide eyes as the man shuddered and took a step back.

"N-now Aizawa-kun.. Do you r-really think th-this is the best time to-"

"Shut up." Him and the other two took a step forward "Just what the hell were you thinking, giving a child such a dangerous and powerful quirk? Hmm?"

'Oh shit.' Katsuki thinks as he holds his breath 'This is about One for All.'

"Now Aizawa-kun, this really isn't the place to be talking about this.." All Might looks over all the students nervously "Surly this can wait till class-"

"No, Yagi I don't think it can wait." Yamada-sensei states in a tone that Katsuki is not used to hearing from the man. He instinctively takes a step back, even though the anger is not directed at him. He can see Kirishima next to him doing the same. "Considering the face that, since Midoriya-kun is in this class, and the dangers of this quirk have made themselves apparent.." He trails off.

Kayama-sensei picks up on his line of thought "Since he's in this class, and all of the students are now in the middle of this age old feud." She growls "He's not the only one made a target by the League. His whole class is, and everything about this could have been handled better, safer, if the teachers had been told."

"But since we weren't. And now my whole class is in the middle of this mess, they get to know as well." Aizawa-sensei growls lowly, now up in the mans face, and Katsuki.... Katsuki can't fight that logic. Really, he knows the basics of Ofa, but not the details. Apparently there's more to it than even he knows, judging by his teachers reactions.

"So, All Might. Tell me, why wasn't I made aware that you passed on your quirk to a child, a stockpiling quirk, that made him break his bones. Tell me, why wasn't I told, so I could properly help him?"

Katsuki hears a gasp to his left and sees round cheeks with wide eyes. But the more he looks around, the more he sees everyone with wide eyes at the revaluation that All Might passed his power onto the nerd.

"Tell me, why wasn't I told that this quirk came with a powerful nemesis? One that has been targeting My class? All for One, the Big Bad, head of the League of Villains." Aizawa-sensei growled now poking All Might in the chest, who was shaking.

Katsuki's mouth opened in surprise, he-he didn't know about that. He watched All Might swallow, eyes wild with terror "W-well.. I thought it was... safer the less people knew about it... You see-"

"I don't give a shit! You didn't give him a support system! Hell, whatever advice you gave him, to use the quirk obviously wasn't very good! He broke his god damned bones Yagi!" Aizawa yelled.

Four-eyes took that moment to hesitantly speak up "Sensei... Are you talking about Midoriya-kun?"

Yamada-sensei sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose "Yes, Iida-kun. All Might gave Midoriya-kun his quirk, with obviously no real advice." He hissed that last part glaring at the man in question "And didn't think to tell anyone."

"That is irresponsible!" Four-eyes gasped "All Might-sensei! You should have at least told Aizawa-sensei so he could better help Midoriya-kun with his new quirk! Why, already having to master one is difficult enough-"

"He didn't have one." Katsuki interrupted.

All eyes on the room turned to him, he rolled his eyes and huffed "The damn nerd was Quirkless." he growled.

"So... Not only has he never had any experience with a quirk in the first place, but he was also given one with no real instructions?" Ponytail asked with furrowed brows, she then looked to All Might "Did you ever think that maybe, you wouldn't be able to handle this on your own? Do you know, how the Quirkless are treated now a days?" Katsuki was surprised by the steal that steadily grew in her voice "It's no wonder he's so self-sacrificing! He probably doesn't think he's worth anything!"

Half n' half then spoke "You gave him a quirk, your legacy, and you watched as he broke himself, over and over, and didn't really do anything about it? I have to say All Might, I'm disappointed."

"I knew a quirkless kid in elementary school." Everyone's eyes turned to invisi-bitch "I got made fun of for being invisible, but.. I always remember thinking 'at least I'm not qurikless'. He was treated horribly. The teachers never helped him, always said he was lying..."

"See? Yagi? Even these kids know better than you! You have made mistake, after mistake! If I knew, I could have gotten him into therapy. I could have gotten him the help he needed, deserves. Don't you understand? Not only did you give a quirkless child the power of god, but you gave it to him knowing there was a powerful enemy behind it!" Aizawa-sensei barked, eyes turning red and hair floating.

"I thought All for One was dead!" All Might cried as he was pushed further back against the wall.

"Well you obviously thought wrong! Did you even tell him about All for One? Or did you wait until it was too late?" Yamada-sensei barked, Katsuki held his breath, this really wasn't looking good for All Might.

"I-I didn't no! But I-!"

"But Nothing." Katsuki was surprised to see it was Four eyes that growled that "You gave my friend a powerful quirk, yes you gave him the opportunity to become a hero, though he more than likely could have done so without." He adjusted his glasses "You gave it to him, knowing that possibly, All for One's underlings could know about the quirk, could come after him for it. And you told him nothing? How irresponsible. Even if you thought the man was dead, he should have been told about it."

"Yeah! Deku-kun is so nice! He probably would have accepted it anyway, but he should have known before hand!" Round eyes glared.

Soon enough all his classmates were agreeing, and Katsuki couldn't help but agree as well. The nerd probably felt like he was holding up the fucking world. Fuck, yeah Katsuki knew about the quirk, but he wasn't told about the mortal enemy tied to it. Hell, he doesn't think he'd be doing well in the nerds shoes. He shuddered, he was in the presence of All for One for mere minutes. He couldn't picture himself fighting against the man one-on-one. Yet, All Might expected that of the Nerd? Fuck no! "Yo, Ass Might. I don't know what you were thinking, frankly, I don't fucking care. But if you expect the nerd to face those fuckers on his own you've got another thing coming. He isn't you. He doesn't have to do this bullshit on his own."

Aizawa-sensei paused, turning back to his class when murmur of agreements were voiced "You're right, Bakugou-kun. He doesn't have to do this on his own. But hopefully none of you will have to deal with this at all. But the way this year has been going, well, I wouldn't put it past you all to get involved somehow. We'll go over the specifics of Midoriya-kun's quirk later. But you" They all watched as Aizawa-sensei turned fully to All Might and lunged, punching him square in the nose. "You should have known better. We'll discuss the rest of this later." He growled "For now, class dismissed."

_____________

Yagi cradled his broken nose in his hands, and watched as the students made their way back to the changing rooms, all muttering angrily to each other, he turned to the three teachers in front of him, all with varying levels of anger pointed at him. He sighed "I probably deserved that.. But did the students really have to know?"

"Yes, All Might, they did. They deserve to know, they've been dragged into the middle of this. It's only fair." Kayama sighed.

"Tell me, why did you chose Midoriya?" Aizawa asked

"Because he saw his friend in danger, he acted when no one else did, his feet moved on their own.."

"So, you gave your quirk to a child who blatantly showed no care for his own well-being? One who didn't think before he threw himself into trouble?" Aizawa raised an eyebrow at the man, the threat weaved into his careful words.

"W-well.. I also needed to apologize to him about something I had said earlier in the day-"

"What could you have possibly done, that you needed to apologize about, and offer a quirk to quirkless middle-schooler?"

"I had.. Saved him earlier that day from a villain made of sludge.. He-he held onto my leg when I tried to take off because of my time-limit, and we landed on a rooftop.. He asked me if he could be a hero without a quirk so-"

"So you told him no. Didn't you?" Yamada growled, Yagi shivered, he'd never seen the man so angry.

"Well of course I did! I didn't want to give him false hope!"

"Yagi. You do realize, that I fight quirkless right? Hell, Hizashi and Nemuri do too, when their quirks could endanger civilians! He could have done it! Have you heard his analysis?"

"You mean his fanboy rambles? I always thought those were nonsense..."

"You!-" Yamada sputtered in disbelief.

"You know what Yagi?" Aizawa sighed "I can't deal with you right now. If you keep talking I might actually murder you. Go see Nedzu and see what punishment he has ready for you. God knows he'll be more merciful than I will be right now." And he walked off. The other two fallowing behind him.

He sat there for awhile longer.. He.. He really messed up, didn't he?

Chapter 8: Hero Nerd

Summary:

The rooftop gang finds out just how much of a hero nerd Midoriya really is.

Thanks Insomni_Snack for some ideas for this chapter!!

Chapter Text

Midoriya Izuku was currently freaking the fuck out.

There are so many Hero's here right now, that, in his time have retired or have... Passed away. He has little information on some of them and is really excited to learn more about them.

Nedzu had explained to them all this morning the basics of why he's here and why he will be in the Hero Course no question's asked. When they asked for a cover story to tell the rest of the students, Nedzu told them that he was a transfer from another hero school, and that they needed no more information than that. He told them his real name, but that he'll be going by Akatani Izuku, and that his appearance will change by tomorrow. Which is when he'll start attending classes.

He spent the rest of the day chatting with Nedzu, when Nedzu had asked him what he thought of his homeroom teacher.

"Oh! You mean Black Jet right?! His quirk; Ink Jet, is so interesting! He secretes Ink from his skin when he activates his quirk! I've always wondered if it's actually always active and he's just learned to control it better? Do the glands that produce the Ink widen when he lets more out? Does he have to constantly think about having his quirk active? Does he mumble, mumble, mumble..."

Nedzu sat, watching the boy, intrigued by the level of analyses spouting from his mouth. He let him continue as he just observed and listened, but it seemed Midoriya had realized what he was doing and flinched minutely and folded into himself slightly "I-I'm s-sorry Principal Nedzu, I di-didn't m-mean to-to go off on-on a tangent like that, you p-probably find it so-so c-creepy and-and w-weird and-"

He was stopped by Nedzu clearing his throat "Now, now, Akatani-kun. There's no need to apologize. In fact, I'm quite intrigued by what you have to say." He watched as the boys eyes widened in surprise "In fact, Akatani-kun, how do you feel about becoming my personal student? I'd like to get to know you better and pick that brain of yours, if you'd let me."

Izuku sat there openly gaping, his mouth opening and closing a few times, but no words seemed to come out "That's alright, you do not have to answer now. Please, take your time to think about it hmm? We have used most of the school day to chat about things. School will be out soon, I'll give you a whole week to think about it, how does that sound?"

Izuku nodded his head "Y-yes, that sounds f-fine. Th-thank you."

"Alright, you may go wait for your friends by the gate. Aizawa-kun will have a card with the money on it for you to go shopping for the things you need and want. Have a good rest of your day Akatani-kun!"

Izuku walked out of the principal's office in a frazzled state of mind 'Why would he want to take me on as a personal student? I'm not worthy of that, am I? No, I'm not. I can't be. This doesn't make any sense!'

Those thoughts continued as he made his way to the gate, he stood there stuck in his head for about 5 minutes before the bell rang. His head snapped up as he watched the students pile out, waiting for the familiar heads of black, blue, yellow and midnight purple hair. He didn't have to wait long as he saw Shir-Oboro, he remined himself, Oboro's wispy head of blue hair. He made his way to them smiling brightly.

"Mid- I mean, Akitani-kun! How was your day?" Yamada greeted him with a wide smile.

"I-it was g-good! Great even! There are so many different quirks and teachers! It's all so neat!"

"I'm so glad you had a good day Izuku-kun." Oboro smiled warmly at him, both ignoring the looks from the three others. Since when were they on first name basis? They wondered.

"M-me too, Oboro. Do-do we have a plan f-for today, Aizawa-san?"

Aizawa huffed "We need to get you basic things for the apartment. We can do that first, then we can go to a café or something..."

Izuku watched as Yamada's eyes glinted with mischief "Ooooh~ Like a cat-café Shouta? We all know how much you adore those little babies."

Aizawa rolled his eyes "Shut up Zashi."

"Never!" He playfully wrapped his arm around the other's shoulder and the rest watched in slight amazement when Aizawa didn't push him off.

Kayama looked over to Oboro and Izuku and wiggled her eyebrows suggestively, Izuku had to hide his smile behind a hand and hold in a giggle. Oboro openly laughed and only then did Aizawa realize what was going on and shoved Yamada off him abruptly. Yamada shrieked as he fell to the ground dramatically "Betrayal. Just leave me here, go on without me, this is where I die."

Izuku giggled "W-we are g-gathered here today t-to honor th-the loudest-"

"Most annoying" Aizawa pitched in.

"P-person we know." He finished with mirth in his eyes.

Oboro was wiping fake tears "He will not be missed, my eardrums will finally be at peace."

Kayama was cackling with delight at Yamada's squawk of offence and he scrambled to get up "You guys are so mean~" He whined "Mi-Akitani-kun, I thought you were supposed to be on my side!"

Izuku smiled at him "I-I'm s-sorry Yamada-san, b-but I'm on n-no one's side."

That's when Oboro looked at him with offence, then a smirk and promptly tackled him to the ground "I-zu-ku! You have to be on my side! It's the best!"

They both laughed and rolled on the ground for a moment before Aizawa huffed in annoyance "Come on. We don't have all day, and I would like to go see the cats, thank you very much." And he started to walk off without them.

The two scrambled to get up, twisted in each other's limbs, but finally managed.

Kayama looked at Oboro, and noticed a different kind of smile on his face. She wasn't sure quite what it was, but she knew it was good, and felt herself smiling at them.

______________________________

They spend the day getting the basic necessities for Izuku, they were going to have a bed shipped to the apartment tomorrow after school, along with a dresser and a few other larger items. They had a few bags of clothing and hygiene items, and a bag of hero merch. Izuku had tried to insist that he didn't need it, but Oboro had seen the look in his eyes when they had passed by the shop, and Aizawa insisted he get at least a few items because there was plenty of money on the card Nedzu had given them, and the principal would be adding more to it each month he was there.

They finally made it to a cat café, they were all seated when Kayama had an idea "Oh! I know! Lets play 20 questions! That way we can all learn new things about each other!"

"That sounds like a wonderful idea Nemi!" Oboro cheered.

"Wh-what's 20 questions?" Izuku asked timidly, they all looked to him with varying levels of shock.

"It's a game, have you never played before?" Yamada asked.

"N-no.." He said sadly "I didn't... didn't have.. uh.. f-friends.. for along time..."

They were all brutally remined in that moment that this boy had grown up quirkless.

Aizawa winced and looked away from the broken expression that the boy had, it reminded him too much of himself just a year ago.

Oboro just smiled, though it was slightly strained "Well, 20 questions is a game where you ask any sort of question to get to know someone better! Like, what's your favorite color, or what's your favorite food! Things like that!"

"O-oh, th-that seems simple enought. I w-wouldn't m-mind playing."

Kayama smiled sweetly to him "Alright honey, and we can skip any question we aren't comfortable with answering, sound good?"

They all gave there affirmatives, and played rock, paper, scissors, to see who would go first.

Yamada ended up winning and hummed in thought for a moment "Oboro! If you could have any other quirk, what would it be?"

Oboro smirked at him "Rubber body."

Izuku spluttered beside him with a laugh, while Aizawa sent him a bewildered look "Why?"

"Nuh uh! It's my turn! Hmmmm..." He thought for a moment "Izuku-kun!"

Izuku startled beside him "If you could have any kind of pet in the world, what would you have?"

Izuku looked at him blankly for a moment before putting his hand on his chin and dissolving into a mumble fit, they watched in rapid amazement as he didn't seem to take a single breath. None of them could understand what he was saying because it was so quiet, but none dared to interrupt, then he snapped his fingers and smiled at Oboro "I'd have an Honey Badger!"

"What's that?" Yamada asked, slightly intrigued.

Izuku smiled at him with excitement "They're super aggressive! They're notoriously known for their strength, ferocity and toughness. They're known to savagely and fearlessly attack almost any other species when escape is impossible, reportedly even repelling much larger predators such as lion and hyena. Bee stings, porcupine quills, and animal bites rarely penetrate their skin. If horses, cattle, or Cape buffalos intrude upon one of their burrows, it will attack them! If I could have one as a pet, I'd essentially have an amazing guard dog! It'd be super cool!"

They all openly gaped at him, they wouldn't think that such a kind person would want something so... ferocious as a pet. They shrugged it off and Izuku turned to Aizawa "Aizawa-san! If there was one crime you could get away with, what would it be?"

Aizawa looked contemplative for a moment "Murder." He answered with a deadpan look and they just giggled in response "Nemi, What's your sexuality."

"I'm actually Asexual!"

"What?? Really?" Izuku looked to her surprised.

"Yep!" She popped the 'p'. "I know my with my whole persona you wouldn't think that, but I am! I'm mostly doing this persona to fight for women's rights in the Hero industry and to fight for SA victims."

"Wow..." Izuku said amazed "That's wonderful Kayama-san"

"Please call me Nemuri, or Nemi like the others." She smiled at him.

"And call me Hizashi, or Zashi listener!"

He heard Aizawa sigh "Shouta."

"Th-then please, call me Izuku." He smiled brightly at them, his eyes slightly wet. He's never felt so comfortable before. He never thought he could be this comfortable around people he knew were his teachers later in life, but he couldn't find it in him to fight against the feeling.

"YAAAaaaaaay! Alrighty Zuzu!"

Izuku spluttered "Z-zuzu?"

Oboro slung his arm around his shoulders once again "Hmm.. Zuzu, Zuku... Izu.... Yup, I like Zuzu the best." He smiled at him and Izuku felt his face burst into a blush.

"So!" Nemuri started "Zashi! What's your favorite colour?"

"Wow, Nemi, such a boring question..." He sighed "It's Green. Nooooww~"

They continued to play with silly questions, until Aizawa looked at Izuku with slight caution "How's your home life, back in your time?"

They all watched as he went rigid and his eyes went wide, before he forcefully made himself calm down.

"Well..."

Chapter 9: Home Life

Summary:

Aizawa is in the common room, when he learns that his Problem Child's home life... Probably isn't the best. He decides to ask Bakugou about it, and gets even more confused.

Chapter Text

School has been out for awhile, and Shouta decided to sit in the common room with his hellspawn. He knew at some point they were going to want to know more about Midoriya's quirk, and he was just waiting for them to cool down first. He didn't want to get into it when they are still upset at Ass Might.

But as he was sitting there, working on some assignments, more memories started to work their way to the forefront of his mind. He smiled happily remembering their game of 20 questions. How Problem Child would laugh and smile with them.

But his face turned blank, a mask to hide his worry and anger as he remembered asking his friend about his home life. (He doesn't know when he started to think of Midoriya as more than his student, and closer to being a friend.)

"Well... It's not.. terrible? I love my mom.. I do.. I just... Don't see her much..." Izuku had stuttered out.

Shouta's eyebrows pinched in worry "What do you mean?"

"W-well... My.. Father left us when I was diagnosed Quirkless..." he had paused and looked away "She uh.. She had to start working more.. So she took the graveyard shifts at the hospital she works at. So When I'd get up in the morning for school, she wouldn't be home yet.. Then, while I was at school.. Sh-she'd get home and go to bed.. She'd still be a-asleep by the time I returned.. Then She'd get up, cook a quick meal for us both.. She did that.. for awhile.. Then she'd leave for work before I had to go to bed.. Sometimes she'd work double shifts and.."

"Zuzu.." Oboro had started, when Izuku sniffed lightly, but the boy just turned and beamed at them.

"I-it's okay! R-really! Sh-she did it t-to support us! I u-understand why she wasn't... why she wasn't there..."

"Izuku..." He had started nervously, not wanting to upset the boy any further, but had the desire to help, to understand "When was the last time you've actually seen your mother..?"

It.. Disturbed and upset Shouta, the look of pure concentration, that Izuku had on his face when he had to think back to the last time he'd seen her. He shouldn't have to think about it. "Uh-uhm... Well.. we're in dorms now.. Th-the last time I saw her was... was..."

Shouta shared a sad look with Hizashi...

Shouta frowned, he looked up scanning his students. He remembered something about Problem Child 1 and Angry Problem Child growing up together, so he cleared his throat, honestly forgetting about the other kids in the room. Purely focused on figuring out what exactly is going on. "Bakugou-kun, you grew up with Midoriya-kun, correct?" Shouta wasn't sure what went through the kids mind, because he turned sickly pale.

Bakugou huffed, trying to hide how nervous he was "Yeah? So fucking what?"

Shouta sighed "Were you close to his mother at all?"

"Auntie Inko?" There were sounds of confusion through the room, some of the other students asking 'auntie?' in surprise.

Shouta raised an eyebrow "Yes. Bakugou-kun, Midoriya Inko."

"Yeah, Auntie calls me every week to check up on me. She fucking comes over for dinner sometimes when the Hag invites her over. Why are you fucking asking me this Hobo-sensei?"

And... Shouta froze, because What?

His memories played once more.

"The l-last time I ph-physically saw her was.. I think.. over a year ago? I mean... She was.. was there when All Might came to talk about the dorms.. But I think she had gotten an e-mail saying she needed to-to be there... But before that.. Yeah.. about a year..."

"Zuzu... Did she even talk to you then?" Nemuri asked him kindly.

"She uh- th-threatened to pull me from UA.. Saying.. saying it was to dangerous for someone... someone like me.. We argued.. Then All Might convinced her.."

Shouta and the other three shared a look. So that didn't sit right with any of them, good to know. "When was.. the last time you spoke to her after that listener?"

"That.. that was the last time.. She uh- she doesn't call or text me.. She's.. too busy.."

Shouta frowned at Bakugou "Does she say anything about Z-" he cleared his throat, trying to mask his slip-up "Izuku at all?"

Bakugou studied him for a moment. Then he was quiet for a moment longer, when his eyes widened slightly "No? I don't remember her saying fucking anything about Deku. The Old Hag and Old man will ask about him... But she always fucking avoids the topic. Why didn't I fucking realize that until now?! What the fuck! Tell me what you fucking think is going on you bastard!" He looked frantic, disbelief and wariness reflected in his eyes, but he was trying to hide it with his anger.

"I remember my... friends and I asking him about his home life. Apparently the last time he had spoken and seen his mother was when All Might had gone to ask about the dorming situation. Before that he said he hadn't seen or talked to her in over a year. Bakugou. I don't understand why she still speaks to you though. Do you have any thoughts on why?"

There were gasps of shock from the other students, but Shouta ignored it in favor of watching Bakugou's face contort in a flurry of emotions. Then, realization seemed to dawn on him and his eyes widened, he looked to Shouta with wide, desperate eyes and spoke in the quietest voice any of them have ever heard from him "I was.. am her favorite.. I've always been 'Perfect little Katu-chan' with the 'perfect quirk for heroics'...That fucking bitch.." He looked away, with a distant look in his eyes and continued "She fucking stopped talking about him like.. 3 fucking years ago.. Started dodging questions about him about half-a fucking-year after that... I always assumed it was because she didn't fucking know, because the damn nerd always kept to himself.. didn't want to trouble her or some fucking shit like that.. I didn't..."

Shouta sighed, this was a mess. He needed to look more into this. "Fuck!" He looked up sharply to to see Bakugou with a furious look on his face "I fucking talked to the damn nerd about her coming over for dinner a couple times! He always looked upset and I figured it was because he'd been busy and couldn't fucking make it! Not that she didn't fucking say shit to him! Not that she fucking neglected him! This is fucking bullshit! The next time I see her I swear to Kami I'm going to blow her head straight off her fucking body!"

"You won't be doing that, Bakugou-kun. I understand you're upset. But let the adults handle it. Let me handle it."

Bakugou snarled and shot him venomous glare "You better fucking fix this."

"I will."

Shouta walked into his dorm room and was greeted by a disheveled looking Hizashi. He took his boots off and walked over to the man that was sitting on the couch, he was silent, waiting for the other to talk first.

It took awhile, Hizashi staring at the floor, then he finally looked up, his eyes were a bit red and puffy "Sho? Do... Have..." he sighed in frustration, trying to get the words out, Shouta was patient and gave him time to think about what he wanted to say and how to say it correctly "Midoriya Inko... She neglected the little listener?"

Shouta sighed and shut his eyes, placing his head in his hands "It gets worse." He looked up to see Zashi looking at him with disbelief.

"How can it get any worse Sho?" His voice was uncharacteristically quiet.

"It gets worse because Midoriya Inko apparently still talks and see's Bakugou-kun on a regular basis. She calls him every week to check on him, and goes to his house on the weekends sometimes to have dinner with him and his family."

"WHAT?!"

Shouta winced at the loudness of the blondes voice, but nodded all the same "Yeah. Apparently Bakugou-kun had no Idea that Izuku hadn't seen or spoken to her in so long. Midoriya-san also apparently dodges any and all questions about Zuzu.." He didn't notice his slip-up until it was too late, but thankfully Zashi said nothing about it.

"This is fucked up Shouta! He hasn't done anything to deserve this treatment!" Hizashi huffed angrily, but then went strangely quiet. Shouta looked to him in confusion before he spoke in a whisper "It's because he was Quirkless... Isn't it?"

"Shit."

They both sat in silence for awhile before both their phones went off with a notification, Shouta looked at his.

Mirio:
I'll be bringing Eri back tomorrow morning! She had a lot of fun and has a surprise for you both!

Shouta looked up to Zashi with widened eyes "We have to tell her about Izuku not being here.. She isn't going to take it well.."

Zashi sighed and ran his hands through his hair "We'll figure it out Shou. We always do. But we're going to open a case against Midoriya-san correct? There's no way I'm letting this slide."

He nodded "Yes. We are. I'm not letting this go unpunished."

"Good."

They sat in silence a little longer, when another memory played through Shouta's head.

"....Oboro's really nice.. You all are.. But he's.. he's different?"

It was just him and Izuku, sitting in his living room drinking some tea and coffee. "Different? How so?"

He studied Izuku's face as he tried to come up with the words "It's just.. He's really... touchy? But not in-in a bad way. He's super comforting to be around... I just.. I feel safe?"

He hummed in response "Yeah. He's always been kinda touchy. He's one of the first people I opened up too."

Izuku nodded "He just... There's something about him, ya know?" There was a kind, small, genuine smile playing his lips, and Shouta felt him self smile softly in return.

"I'm not quite sure what you're talking about. But I think I sorta understand where you're coming from."

"Like how you feel safe with Mi-Zashi?" The question was innocent, stated with genuine curiosity, but Shouta spluttered all the same..

Shouta smiled, and Zashi sent him a questioning look "I think Problem Child figured out we liked each other before we knew."

Zashi sent him a warm smile in return.

Shouta just wonders how their going to handle Zuzu's return to the present. He won't have his safe-spot, like he does with Zashi. Hopefully they'll be enough.

Chapter 10: First?? Day of School

Summary:

It's Mid-Akitani's first day of UA. He's excited! He is really! He just- doesn't know what to expect.

Chapter Text

Izuku woke up the next morning with a grumble. His alarm was blaring in his ear, and he just felt extremely exhausted. But none the less, he got up and headed to the bathroom to brush his teeth.

He startled when he saw himself in the mirror. He had forgotten that last night, him and Ai-Shouta, he reminded himself. Him and Shouta had dyed his hair pitch black. It took them awhile to read the instructions, because they didn't want to do it wrong and completely fuck it up. So, after they had read the instructions twice over, Shouta had put on the gloves. Izuku chuckled when he remembered how Shouta had just stood there and stared at his head for a good five or so minutes without moving.

After Shouta seemingly convinced himself that he could do it, he got to work. They ended up splattering the dye everywhere in the process. Neither of them were quite sure how it happened, but it did. There was dye on the sink, on the counter top, on the toilet lid, on the floor. He laughs a little harder when he remembered Shouta sighing tiredly and looking up to the celling, only to have strangled sound come from his throat. Izuku was going to ask him what was wrong, till he looked up and tried not to burst out laughing for Shouta's sake. But he couldn't help it, because there was dye on the celling too.

After they had gotten all the dye in his hair (That didn't end up somewhere it shouldn't) They (tried to) cleaned the spots that had missed their mark. The only one they didn't get to was the one on the celling. So Izuku took a moment, to once again look up and chuckle at the large dark spot. He looked himself in the mirror again, then grabbed his tooth brush and brushed his teeth.

They decided against buying contacts, and instead got concealer for his freckles. So he dug that out of the drawer and got to work. Thankfully it didn't take long. He'd use concealer and other makeup to hide the bruises and scratches from him mom for a long time. He also used it to hide the bags under his eyes often, even at UA so he wouldn't get a scolding from Iida about a proper sleep schedule. He sighs sadly, remembering that when he goes to UA today, he won't be with his friends. Kacchan won't be there, a constant in his life that he's gotten used to. He winces at the thought of 'Finally' whispering through his head.

He finishes up and takes a look at himself in the mirror once more. He's startled by how different he looks with just the basic changes. He looks like a completely new person. He nods to himself, that's good.

He exits the bathroom and makes his way to the kitchen. Him and Shouta had to get up for school a bit earlier today, because Izuku is supposed to meet Jet-Sensei in the teachers lounge so they could walk to the classroom together and be introduced to the class. He starts a pot of coffee, he's not quite hungry today, so he opens the fridge door and snags one of Shouta's jelly pouches.

As he's working his way through the juice pouch, he lets it hang from his mouth and goes to finish getting ready for school. He gets his uniform on, and gets his backpack all put together just the way he likes. By the time he's done, the juice pouch is long finished and the timer for the coffee has gone off. When he gets back into the kitchen, Aizawa is there with his back turned to him, already getting two mugs of coffee ready for them. Izuku throws away his pouch, which alerts Shouta to his arrival. (He's noticed the younger Aizawa's situational awareness is way worse than older Aizawa's. But he doesn't say anything.)

As the other boy turns around, Izuku notices the widening of his eyes, and the slight gape to his mouth as he stares at him. Shouta is looking him up and down, then takes a big gulp of his coffee "You don't look like you. It's weird as hell."

Izuku chuckles "That's the point right?" Not a stutter in sight, which Izuku prides himself on. He may not have been in the past for very long, but he already feels a bit more comfortable and confident here. Maybe it has to do with the friends he's made.

Shouta lets out a huff of air that Izuku thinks it a laugh "Right. Well, drink your coffee so we can go."

Izuku does just that. He drinks his coffee black, which was a surprise to Shouta a first, but he's now grown used to it. They finish their respective drinks and place their mugs in the sink. They slip on their shoes and make their way out the door.

Izuku can feel Shouta side-eyeing him and stiffens just a bit, but then forces himself to relax "Yes?"

"It's just.. You seem.. Different? I suppose. You still stutter and shy away sometimes, but not nearly as much as when you first arrived."

He hums for a moment, contemplating what he wants to say. After a few minutes he speaks "Yeah, I think it's because I have the support and friendship that I haven't really received before. Not saying that I don't have friends in my time! I do! They're all really great too! I mean, sometimes they can be too much and overwhelming and Iida-kun is a real stickler for the rules and likes to lecture me a lot b-but I still really enjoy them! They were the first friends I've had in a long time! It's just.. Your guys' friendship is... is different? I don't really know how to-"

"Izuku." Shouta interrupts him gently "You don't have to defend yourself to me. I understand what you mean, don't worry about it. It's.. Nice to see you come out of your shell a little bit. I hope we can continue to help you in the ways you need. You deserve it."

Izuku is quiet for awhile after that. Does he deserve it? He's not sure.

They arrive at the school and Shouta walks him to the teachers lounge. They knock on the door and are greeted with a slim figure with long purple hair. She looks at them for a moment before her eyes light with recognition "Ah! I'm Hitatchi Ira! Pro Hero Craft! You must be the time- uhhhh new student! Please come in! Your homeroom teacher is waiting for you!"

Izuku gapes at her for a moment when he feels a hand on his shoulder, he looks over to Shouta "I'll head to the classroom. Remember you have Oboro, Hizashi and I by your side already. It's okay to be nervous, but if you're ever feeling overwhelmed in class just let us know." Then he stalks off without waiting for a reply.

Izuku gulps and makes his way in, sitting on one of the couches is a average sized man, with Ink black hair, a full beard and mustache. He has on a pure black T-shirt that is skin tight, and black sweats. He looks to have on specially made shoes, that have tiny holes in soles. It's Black Jet. His homeroom teacher. Izuku wonders slightly if comfy clothes is a requirement for being 1-A's homeroom teacher.

He makes his way over the man slowly, the man looks up and Izuku startles slightly at the pure black eyes that peer at him. No sclera, no Iris or pupil, just pure black.

He bows "H-hello Ink-Sensei! It-it's nice to finally meet you! I-I'm Mi-Akatani Izuku! Please take care of me!"

He hears a low rumbling chuckle come from the man "Stand up kid. It's nice to meet you too." He clears his throat and Izuku stands up straight "So this is how things are gonna go. We're going to wait for the bell to ring then make our way to the classroom. I'm going to walk in first and you're going to wait in the hall. I'll tell the class we have a new student the transferred from another hero school due to unforeseen and special circumstances. I'll tell you to come in and you'll introduce yourself. At any point, if things get to overwhelming or you're having any sort of issue, you have permission to grab one of your friends and head into the hall for a breather. Or you can excuse yourself and go by yourself."

He pauses for a moment because he can see Akatani shaking a bit, he doesn't know if it's from nerves or excitement, but he continues "Today for Heroics, we'll be doing a simple obstacle course to gage your abilities. The rest of the class will be running it with you. It'll be a competition. You up for that kid?"

Akatani nods so fast, Ink thinks his head might fly off, but the kid responds with an enthusiastic "Yes Sensei!"

"Good. Just chill here for a bit, do whatever and we'll head out when the bell rings."

Izuku sits on the couch opposite of Ink-Sensei and brings out his notebook, he wants to ask questions, but he isn't sure if he should. So he doesn't, for now. Instead he starts to sketch a picture of his Sensei on the page next his analysis of him. It takes up almost the whole time he's there, and he's startled when the five minute warning bell goes off.

He stands when Ink-Sensei stands and they make their way out the door, he was so distracted with his drawing that he never saw or heard the other teaches come in, but he sees most of them leaving and bounces on his toes in excitement. So many heroes!

By the time they've made it to the classroom, the second bell has rung. Ink-Sensei motions for him to stay put and so he does, while he opens the door and walks in. He can hear all the chatter in the room come to a stop and hears Sensei clearly "Alright you little shits." Izuku has to try hard not to laugh "We have a new student today. Before you ask, he's a transferring from a different hero school due to unseen and special circumstances. You will not dig into these circumstances, am I clear?"

He hears the class answer "Yes Sensei!"

"Good. You can interrogate him later, not on my time. Don't ask invasive questions. If he doesn't want to answer a question, he does not have to. Do not push him to, if he refuses. You may come in now."

Izuku gulps and hesitantly makes his way into the room. He's slightly surprised when only 14 faces stare back at him. He makes his way in front of the room and bows "M-my name is A-Akatani Izuku. I'm in your care!" He straightens himself out again, and looks to his Sensei so he can tell him where he's supposed to sit.

"You'll be sitting next to Shirakumo-kun and Iikeda-kun. Behind Yamada-kun and in front of Aizawa-kun."

Izuku smiles and nods, then turns to face Oboro, when he sees him and Hizashi gaping at him. He doesn't understand why for a moment, then realizes just how different he looks. He smiles and waves at them, Oboro flashes him a large smile, and there's warmth in his eyes and gets and enthusiastic wave back. Hizashi is still gaping at him but sends him a small wave in return.

He gets in his seat and looks over to the girl next to him, Ink-Sensei said her name was Iikeda. She has long, smooth looking neon blue hair, with quite a bit of makeup. She looks bored and is smacking her gum, which he winces at with annoyance. She looks over to him and he can't help the shudder that passes through him at the predatory look in her eyes. She gives him a sharp smile and bats her eyelashes at him, and sends him a small, cutesy wave. He gulps and turns back to the front of the class.

After that, classes flash by quickly, he knows most of everything they're working on, and doesn't have a hard time catching up. By the time lunch rolls around, his stomach is growling at him, since the only thing he ate this morning was that juice pouch.

When the bell rings for lunch, he turns to Oboro, when he feels a tap on his shoulder. Confused, he turns to see Iikeda leaning against his desk, seemingly pushing her breasts out a bit and she smiles, what he must think is meant to be a welcoming grin, but feels more like sharp, pointy smirk. "Hi there Aka-tan-i-kun~" She purrs, leaning in a bit more, and Izuku leans back slightly. "You're really cute you know? Why don't you come eat lunch with me and my friends? Hmm?~"

He gulps, and shifts away from her a bit more, when he goes to speak, he feels an arm wrap protectively around his shoulder, when he looks, he can't help but smile. Oboro to his rescue.

"Sorry Iikeda-kun. But Zuzu is eating with us during lunch." His smile is sharp, dangerous almost.

Shouta sees something dangerous flash in her eyes, before she leans over disgustingly more, with her breasts almost in Izuku's face. "Well I think he'd rather eat lunch with me Shitra-kun. Why don't you let him decide, hmm?" Then she looks Izuku in the eye's and goes to activate her quirk. So Shouta's flashes to life and erases hers.

"Iikeda. You really shouldn't be using your quirk against the new student, don't you think?" Shouta growls and stands closer to Oboro and Izuku and places his hand on the shy boy's shoulder.

Then Hizashi comes to stand at their other side "Yeah! The super un-cool! Ya dig?"

She huffs angrily "Well you" She points at Shouta "Shouldn't be using your quirk on me. You're nothing but a villain. I don't even-"

She gets interrupted by, surprisingly, Izuku. Who slams his hands on his desk and leans dangerously into her space "I don't want to be friend's with a bully or a manipulator. Thanks though. I'll eat lunch with my friends. Just to let you know, the only one here acting like a villain, is you."

Her eyes are wide as she gapes at the boy, and proceeds to gather her things quickly and run out the door.

Oboro whistles "Whoa. That was hot."

"Huh?" Izuku replies intelligently.

Shouta and Hizashi share a look.

"Ah nothing, nothing." Oboro waves him off "Lets go get lunch!"

Then they're off.

Chapter 11: Bakugou Katsuki's Plan

Summary:

Bakugou puts in place a plan to get Inko arrested. He can't help the vicious grin that spreads across his face.

Chapter Text

Bakugou Katsuki is not one to stay up late. He's usually in bed and asleep by 8:30.

But here he is wide awake. He turns to look at his clock, which shows the time to be 10:27pm. He sighs aggravated.

Nothing has been going right. One For All was supposed to be a god damn secret. But apparently not anymore! He was confused by this. But that's not what mattered right now. That shit can be dealt with when the damn nerd comes back.

No. No. What's bothering him right now, is what his stupid ass Sensei said about Auntie Inko. It didn't make sense.(But it did.)

So, Bakugou grabbed his phone off his charger, went to his contacts and let his finger sit over the one labeled Old Hag.

Should he? She'd probably be pissed about him calling this late. But it's fucking important! Okay?!

He sighs angrily and presses the call button. It rings a few times, but finally "Brat? The fuck are you calling me so damn late for?"

She.. Doesn't sound angry, not really "Oi.. There was an... incident with Deku-"

"Oh god what did you do now fucking brat!? Why isn't the school-"

"Shut the fuck up for a minute damn it!" The line goes quiet before he continues "It wasn't me. It's classified information that I can't really discuss. But fucking. Ugh. Just listen, okay?"

There's and audible sigh from the other end "Alright Katuski, I'm listening."

"Some shit got brought up by my Sensei. He started asking about Auntie." He takes a deep, calming breath. Something that he's learned to do in his anger management therapy "Apparently Dek-Izuku, hasn't seen her in a year. Other than when the dorms and shit were being talked about. Do you fuckin' know anything about that?"

His Old Hag is oddly quiet for moment before a venomous "What?" could be heard. "No, I didn't fucking know she abandoned him! Oh that's it, the next time she comes over I swear to fucking god-"

"MOM!" Katuski shouts, everything goes quiet, it's been a.. long time since he's called her anything other than a hag "I think... I think I have an idea. I better damn one than just blowing her fuckin' head off like I really want to."

"Oh? What would that be brat?"

Katsuki's face breaks into a maniacal smirk "Ya know how the bitch comes over for dinner sometimes? Have her over for dinner this weekend. I'll see if my Sensei will do a 'surprise' visit or some shit. I'm sure we can come up with something. Fucking have him breach the topic with her and see what happens from there."

"That.. That's a great fucking idea kiddo. Do you think your Sensei is up? I wanna get this shit figured out sooner rather than later."

Katsuki sighs, he checks the time again 10:40. Sensei should still be up. Not like the bastard ever sleeps anyway "He should be. Just stay on the fucking phone."

He gets up, and makes his way to the elevator. He gets to the bottom floor and remembers there's a few insomniac's that stay up in the common room. He doesn't want to say shit to them.. So He'll just hold his phone to his ear and appear busy! They don't need to know shit!

He makes his way to the hallway that leads to his Sensei's room. He spots Mind Fuck, Edgar Allen Poe, and irritatingly... Pikachu.

He avoids eye contact, but that doesn't stop him from sing the portable charger approaching him, he turns to face him with what he hopes to be a frightening scowl. It doesn't seem to work as the idiot waves at him "Hi Kacchan! What are you doing up this late? Isn't it past your bed time?" He wiggles his eyebrows.

"Fuck off Pikachu! I have some important shit to do, now get the fuck out of my way!" He lets off an explosion as an emphasis. He can hear laughter through his phone and chooses to ignore it.

The braindead blonde seems to understand and backs off with and easy smile and hands up in surrender.

He stalks further away, finally making it to his Sensei's door. He eye's it warily for a moment, then knocks.

He's surprised when it isn't Aizawa-Sensei who opens the door, but a weird blonde bimbo looking freak "Who the fuck are you?!" He screeches.

But the guy just laughs good heartedly "Easy kiddo! Looking for Aizawa? Come on in listener!"

It clicks "Loud-Sensei? Fuck you look weird as hell. Why the fuck are you in Aizawa's dorm anyway?"

"Wow! You catch on quick! That last bit is classified information, sorry listener! Just go on into the living room, Shouta should still be on the couch!"

"Ah. Married then. A lot of the extra's owe Deku and I money now." He smirks as he watches the shock show on his teachers face, but then turns and walks to where he see's hobo caterpillar on the couch.

"Bakugou-kun, what are you doing up? Why are you here?"

"I have my old hag on the phone, and.. We might have a plan to get Deku's bitch of a mother arrested." He smiles viciously.

He takes the phone away from his ear and put's it on speaker.

His Sensei speaks hesitantly "What... would this plan entail?"

"The brat came up with it. It's a damn good one in my opinion. He's obviously told you how that bitch comes over for dinner on some weekends. Well, we can invite her over this weekend. Have you do a surprise visit or some shit-"

Katsuki cuts her off "We can say it's you checking in on how the students are doing while at home since the Kamino incident or some shit. We can come up with a better story in a bit. But, fuck. I was thinking you could bring up Deku to her somehow. Get her to admit what she's done. You don't really have much evidence. But if you can see how she fucking acts, what the fuck she says.. Get it on a recording or some shit.. You'd have evidence then."

Aizawa and Yamada stare at him for a moment, they seem to have bewildered expressions. Aizawa speaks "That's.. Not a terrible idea. I'd have to run it by the Principal. But it could work. Good thinking Bakugou-kun. I'm alright with that plan, as long as you're alright with letting her into your house Bakugou-san?"

"I'd rather not have her in my fucking home, but if it helps in any way to get Izu-kun safe and happy. I'm more than happy to oblige."

"Wonderful. I'll talk to Principal Nedzu tomorrow and have him call you with details."

"Great. Thank for looking out for my brat and Izu-kun. I know they're a handful. Buy you're good for them. You'll also be telling me why the fuck this was brought up in the first place, but we can discuss that later. Katsuki, you're doing a good job kiddo. I know I don't fucking say it often, if at all, but I'm proud of you. Love ya." the phone line goes dead. Katsuki stares at it.

It's quiet, for a long moment. "Fuck." Katsuki says with more emotion than either teacher had ever heard from him.

"You alright listener?"

"Fucking fine! I'm going to bed!"

He stomps off angrily and slams the door shut behind him. Still completely ignoring the insomniacs in the common room and makes his way to his room.

When he finally gets to bed, he sighs. It's not angry. It's more tired than anything.

"Fuck Deku. I have a lot I need to work on, don't I?"

"Looks like we have a plan set in motion at least." Aizawa sighs.

"Mmm.. Yeah. He's a good kid."

Aizawa grunts, he pauses for a moment to think.

He speaks quietly "Do you think... When Zuzu get's back.."

"That Bakugou-kun can help? Hmm.. I think he can.. If he dials it back a bit.."

"Shit. We need to explain to the kids that when he gets back, it probably isn't going to be pretty."

Hizashi grimaces "Yeah.. You're probably right.."

Chapter 12: Whoa! He's amazing!

Summary:

Pretty much Izuku being a bombass bitch. Oboro crushing hard, the rest of Class 1-A learning not to mess with the green bean.

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Izuku was ecstatic. He'd had lunch on the rooftop with Oboro, Shouta, Zashi and Nemi. He learned that others (mostly themselves) called them the rooftop gang. He thought it was funny, but endearing.

It was now time for Heroic's and Izuku couldn't wait. He's been feeling restless, though he's only been in the past for a few days.

He hears a gasp or two when he takes off his shirt. He winces and then stiffens. He looks over his shoulder to see his friends, along with most of the other boys looking at him with thinly veiled horror.

Some kid, with a water quirk (He hasn't really gotten the chance to ask names, or quirks) stutter's out "A-Akatani-kun.. What happened to you?"

"Some of those scars look bad.." He heard Shouta murmur.

He threw his gym shirt on quickly, while stuttering out a half lie-half truth "W-well.. I got a lot o-of th-these scars from my quirk.. Uh-uh.. When it first came in.. I didn't know how to use it right.. So it broke my bones.. uhm-uhm... t-turning them into mush pretty much... So.."

Some of them gasped, and apologized for asking. But Oboro gave him a look that they would be talking about this later. He gulped but nodded.

They finally made their way out to their Sensei, it was Ink-Sensei again. In this time, the homeroom teachers are also the heroic's teacher.

He scanned his eyes over his student "Alright. Today, we'll just be doing an obstacle course. It'll be a race, but no directly sabotaging your classmates. If I see any foul play, there will be consequences. Understood?"

"Yes Sensei."

"Good. This is mostly to test the newbie. See how far along he is and all that jazz. This won't be counted as your grade, this time.. So go ahead and get lined up!"

Oboro made his way over to Izuku, who beamed up at him, but then got a thoughtful look on his face "Oboro, wouldn't you be able to just... Go over the obstacles?"

Oboro hummed "Not exactly. It takes a lot of effort and stamina to keep my clouds a certain density. It also congests me terribly. That's why I have this breathe-right strip on my nose!"

"Huh.. Is.. is it okay if I ask more about your quirk later?"

"Sure! I'd love discuss it with you." He smiled. But it was such a soft, gentle smile, that it made butterflies in Izuku's stomach, and his face heat up. He shoved those feelings down, and lined up with the rest of the class. Ignoring Zashi's snickers.

"Alright!" Ink-Sensei called "I'll count you all down! 3!"

Izuku let One For All pulse through out his whole body, igniting him in a shroud of green lightning. 20%

"2!"

He crouched down, ignoring the shocked gasps of the class.

"1!"

His muscles tensed, his eyes shined, and he smiled.

"GO!"

He shot off like a bullet. Now he didn't know his classmates quirks. It was his first day with them after all. He knew they were all first years, so they wouldn't be able to use their quirks at full capacity. Wouldn't know unique ways to use their quirks. Plus.. None of them have had to deal with life and death. Like him and his... his classmates had. He shook his head, driving that line of thinking off. He needed to focus.

The first obstacle was a climbing net, about 10ft tall. He leaped at it, catching on with his hands, and quickly finding his footing, the then pushed his feet down, jumping, and made it the rest of the way to the top of the net. Easily jumping to the ground on the other side.

The second, looked almost like the pitfall during the sports festival. But instead of any rope being in between, the poles were smaller, just closer together. Making it simple for him to just jump from one to the next, or easily, with his quirk, skipping a few.

The third, looked like it was out of a pre-quirk era movie. What was it? James Bond or something like that? It had those lasers, they'd use to protect valuable merchandise. His eyes scanned them quickly, analyzing the best path for him to take. He saw it, and scrambled to it. He nearly burnt his finger on one of the lasers, and he knows he singed some of his hair.

When he got out of that one, There was a giant wall, probably around 20-25ft in height. There were few and far in between hand holds. So.. He just jumped from one, to the other. Making his way to the top quickly, where he looked down to see... None..? Of his classmates? Where-where are they?

He scans the beginning of the course, to see the one farthest ahead is Oboro and Shouta, who, while focusing on themselves, are also glancing to him with wide eyes. They've only just made it to the middle of the pit fall obstacle.

How did he..? He shook his head, he can ask for the footage later or something.

He jumps to the bottom of the wall, running a few meters to the finish line. Where Ink-Sensei is there, gaping at him.

He makes it across. Only breathing slightly heavily, he's barely broken a sweat. This was almost just a warm up.. Compared to what he's used to.

Ink-Sensei whistle's lowly "Damn kid. That's quite the impressive quirk you got there. They've ran this course a few times, and yet, you made it here long before any of them will. What was your pervious teacher, teaching you?"

"Ah-hah... Well.. My.. my old class.. Has a lot of experience. Uhm.. We've already started work studies because of all the villain attacks on our class and-"

"Wait. Villain attacks?"

"Oh uh.. Yeah. We faced our first villains not even a full week into the school year. They broke onto campus and it-it.. I mean.. No one died.. Thankfully.. But it was bad.."

Ink just stared at him for a moment, he went to open his mouth when they heard the sound of heaving breathing and heavy footsteps approaching.

They both turned to see Shouta closest, then Oboro and few other classmates behind them. Izuku had to hold in a laugh when he didn't see Zashi anywhere.

As soon as his two friends crossed, they made their way to him, with wide eyes. Oboro tried to smile, but it came out more of a grimace. They were both sweaty, and seemed to be tired.

Oboro slumped against him dramatically, Izuku grabbed him around the shoulders to make sure he wouldn't collapse to the ground "Zuzu! That was- that was amazing! You were like nyoom! Boosh! Zip-zip! It was super cool! I wish I could have watched closer! You're super impressive!"

"You've had.. Your quirk.. for less than... a year.." Shouta said in between breaths "And yet... and yet... wow."

Izuku blushed deeply, wishing to hide behind his hand, but they were still holding Oboro up, speaking of him, he shifted slightly in Izuku's arms, tilting his head up to look at those emerald green eyes "You're really cool Zuzu."

"I'm-I'm r-really n-not that-that impressive!" He couldn't hide his blush, which only made this situation worse for him.

"Akatani-kun! Your quirk is super awesome!" another student who'd crossed the finish line exclaimed. She had short lavender purple hair, he remembers her quirk has something to do with shadow manipulation, which is really neat!

"Ah-ah th-thank you-"

"Akatani-kun! that was-was wow! You moved so fast it was almost hard to see you! I would have thought you just had a speed quirk if it wasn't for me seeing you jump like you did! What is your quirk?" One of the guys asked, he had a earth manipulation quirk, it wasn't very strong yet, he could lift the earth beneath his feet about a foot off the ground, able to make steps, or give him an extra boost. Or he could lower it.

"Oh-oh... it's um.. Strength augmentation?"

"Neat!"

"Remind me never to fuck with you Akatani-kun." Another girl said, she looked a bit paler than normal.

Then came Iikeda. She was looking at him with wide eyes, and slight fear "I bet you can do a lot of damage.."

Finally Zashi crossed the finish line, huffing and puffing, he tried to speak but it came out in a wheeze of sorts. Making Shouta snort, but go over and help him walk over to Izuku and Oboro.

As the last of the class made there way in front of their teacher, he cleared his throat "Alright. So I suppose you all can see how much you need to improve, yes?"

"Yes Sensei..." The class grumbled.

"Akatani-kun beat you all by about 8 1/2 minutes. While his quirk did help him, it also had to do with his quick thinking. He could have slipped at any point, but he was accurate in all his landings. Solid. I noticed when it came to the lasers, he paused for a moment to map out the quickest and easiest route. Did any of you think to do that, or did you just jump right on in?" He raised an eyebrow.

He watched them pause and think for a moment, before he got a few hesitant shakes of the head, and quiet 'no sensei's.

Izuku was spluttering, but was hushed by Oboro's hand over his mouth.

"Right. So not only is Akatani's quirk strong. So is his mind. Here's a lesson for you all to learn. Make sure you think ahead. Even if you have to pause. Alright?"

"Yes Sensei!"

"Good. Now, all you little shits go get cleaned up and changed. Then go home."

They nodded and made their way to the changing rooms.

Zashi was asking Oboro and Shouta about what they saw when Izuku used his quirk, Shouta answered simply "It was amazing. Honestly. For how little time he's had it, he's got it down pretty good."

But Oboro... Oboro was absolutely gushing. Hanging onto Izuku's arm all the while, singing his praise and letting some of his more intrusive... Thoughts flow freely like "It was really, really attractive. I mean, he just crouched and then BAM!" he enunciated with a punch in the air "He was half way up that stupid wall!"

A-attractive? Izuku thought distraughtly.

Nemi saw them and asked what got Oboro talking so much and Izuku blushing so deeply, he remined her of a strawberry.

When the other two saw this, they chuckled. Causing Oboro to pause in his speaking, to think about exactly what he said. He stopped dead in his tracks. While yes, he does find the other boy attractive, in so, so many ways.. And he has been flirting, he didn't mean to say it out loud.. He's flirty! That's just his personality! But, but Izuku is something else. He peaks his interest. He's interesting, smart, his hair is so, so soft. He likes it when he blushes, when he makes him blush.

His eyes, while holding a lot of pain, spark intensely. Of Determination, love, honesty

'Oh. I think.. I think I like him. A lot. Oboro thinks, still paused in his steps.

He didn't notice the others had stopped, looking at him with slight worry, until Izuku touched his face, wide concerned eyes peered at him "Are you okay Oboro?"

"Y-yeah... Sorry, I just uh. Realized something is all."

"If you're sure.."

"Mmhm!" he looked over to Nemuri, who had a knowing soft smile on her face.

'What am I going to do? We don't know if he'll get sent back to the future.. But.. We don't know if he won't.. either... I need.. I need to talk to someone about this... Also get to know him better.. I-'

Chapter 13: Eri and Bakugou

Summary:

Aizawa and Yamada have to explain to their little unicorn where her hero went. They also discuss what they think is happening with Bakugou and Izuku's relationship.

Notes:

HI EVERYONE!

I am so, so sorry that it's taken me so god damned long to update. I got sick, then I lost a bit of motivation. Plus I'm working full time and am a full time mom to a little girl that's only 6. I should be writing a bit more frequently so I appreciate your patience! Please keep in mind I don't have a laptop or access to a computer all that often, if at all. I'm trying my best though, I promise!

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Aizawa had went to bed with a small smile, thinking of Oboro and Izuku. Their relationship was cute, and he had remembered when he stopped in his spot after having called Izuku attractive. He thinks that's when it really first clicked for Oboro that this wasn't just his normal flirting, that it maybe was a bit more.

He sighed happily into his sleeping husband's side, who was already asleep. He wasn't sure exactly how they were supposed to talk to Eri about all this, but he knew they'd figure it out.

_______________________________

Yamada had gotten up at around 5 am. His internal alarm clock not letting him sleep any longer. He had gotten up went to the bathroom, brushed his teeth, brushed his hair and put it in a bun for the day. Classes were canceled so they could discuss everything happening with Zuzu.

He's been thinking about it for about an hour now, maybe a bit longer. They have so much to discuss with the class, with Eri.. He still needed to know what happened with Bakugou-kun and Izuku. But Bakugou-kun can wait, He's obviously different than he used to be. So that can be put on hold. For now.

He sighs, taking a sip of his coffee. Most don't expect it, but he drinks his coffee just as black and Shouta does. It gives him a little zing to get him up and going.

He's still slightly lost in thought, when Shouta comes stumbling into the kitchen and slumps down into his chair. He can't help the small smile that makes it's way to his face. He gets up and pours his wonderful husband a nice big mug of coffee and wordlessly slides it over to him. He's treated with and appreciative grunt.

They sit in silence till Shouta is done with his first cup. His husband looks up to him with a sigh and a small frown "How are we going to explain this to Eri in a way she understands?"

Hizashi hum, considering. "Well, I think we should be as transparent as we can. She's a little kid Shou, sure, but she's also smarter than we give her credit for most of the time." He shrugs "We can have Mirio stay, so he's caught up as well. If there is anything she gets confused about, we can explain it to her."

Shouta nods, then the door swings open, little pitter patters of feet come flying towards them and Eri turns the corner "Daddy! Papa!" She tackles Shou in a hug, then runs up to Hizashi and hugs him just as hard.

"Hi sweet pea, how was hanging out with Mirio and Amajiki?"

"It was so much fun! We got to go out and have ice-cream and this new place called-! Uh-" She turns to Mirio who had just entered the room "What was that Ice-cream place called again?"

"Scoops Galore! It's new! Hi Aizawa-Sensei, Yamada-Sensei. We had a really good time together." He smiles wide and happily.

Shouta, Hizashi notices out of the corner of his eye, grimaces. Eye's going far away for a moment before a frown tugs on his lips, then shakes his head and turns to Eri "What flavor did you have little unicorn?"

"They had Apple! So, so I had that one! It was really, really good!"

Hizashi smiles "I'm glad princess. Now, we need you and Mirio to go sit in the living room, we need to tell you something okay?"

She frowns, glancing back and forth between them "Is it bad?"

Hizashi smiles, if a bit sadly "A little bit, but we'll figure it out, I promise."

She frowns more and quietly replies "Okay.."

She makes her way into the living room when both the men in the room look to Mirio, who also has a frown on his face "What's going on?"

Shouta gestures to the living room "Go, sit. We'll be there in a minute to explain."

He nods and makes his way to Eri on the couch.

Hizashi can't help but sigh "I don't want to make her sad after having such a good day yesterday."

Shouta frowns "Me either. But it needs to be done."

He nods "Did you get another memory?"

"Mmm. Yeah. But we can talk about that later, for now, lets go."

They make their way into the living room and sit opposite of Eri and Mirio. Mirio is holding Eri on his lap who, is cuddled up to his chest, but looking at her parents expectantly.

"So.." Hizashi starts "There was a.. Quirk mishap. Deku-kun was accidentally sent 15 years into the past. He'll be there for a month for us. But for him, it'll be a year."

Mirio's eyes widen, while Eri gets watery eyes "So, Deku-nii is gone?"

Shouta sighs "Yes princess, but only for a month and then he'll be back. But when he gets back he's going to need some help and support, you think you can help us with that?" he smiles gently, hoping to bring her spirit up, if only even a little bit.

She gets a determined look in her eyes, and nods her head "Yes! I can help Deku-nii just like he helped me! I'll be his hero too!"

Hizashi smiled warmly at their little girl, then Mirio spoke up "So.. How do you know he's 15 years in the past?"

"It's a bit complicated. We aren't allowed to discuss the quirk in detail. To shorten it, when he got sent back, he was near me and Mic, sending him to us in the past. Like I said, it's a bit more complicated than that. But.."

"I get it, no worries! But why would he need our help when he gets back?" He inquired with genuine curiosity.

Hizashi and Shouta shared a look, as if saying 'Do we tell them?'. Shouta nodded.

"We were told by Nedzu that the day in the past that he gets sent back to now, is.. is a day there was a large villain attack. He disappeared in the midst of it all. He could be hurt, or any number of things. That day..." Shouta sighed trailing off.

Hizashi picked it up for him "That day was also the day one of our high school friends, and Izuku's boyfriend at the time died.."

Eri and Mirio both gasped, Eri jumping up and running to Shouta to give him a big hug. Tears had gathered in her eyes "So Deku-nii is gonna be really sad? I.. I'll help! I can help him not be sad!"

"I'm sure you can help lots Eri-bear."

Mirio looked lost, and sad "So.. He needs more help than just physical. He's going to be grieving.. I-Okay. I'll help in anyway that I can too!"

"Thank you both." Hizashi smiled. "Mirio, we'll be discussing more with Class 1-A later if you want to join. Eri, why don't you go take a shower and brush your teeth, yeah?"

"Okay Papa!" She ran off towards her room, she still seemed a little sad, but there was a determination in her eyes.

"What time?" Mirio asked.

"After lunch. Classes were cancelled today, but it would be better if everyone was fed and ready to really discuss everything." Shouta replied.

Mirio nodded and stood up to leave "I'll be there!"

They watched him go and Shouta sighed "I know we said Bakugou-kun could help when Izuku gets back. But-"

"Does this have to do with the memory you got?"

"Kinda? It was just of Izuku talking about 'Kacchan' and how he wished he could have been born at the same time as us and some other things. It was a really short memory honestly so I didn't really get to absorb it all."

Hizashi nodded "Yeah. It's obvious that Bakugou-kun is working on it. So we do need to give him the benefit of the doubt even if we don't end up liking what we fine."

Shouta sighs "Yes, I agree. We'll figure it out together though."

Hizashi smiles and leans over and gives him a kiss on the cheek "That we will."

Notes:

Sorry that it's so short. Like I said, I don't get computer access all that often, but if I'm feeling up to it, there may be another chapter later tonight!

Chapter 14: Oboro talks

Summary:

Oboro has been struggling with his feeling the past few days and isn't sure who to speak to. So logically, he goes to the most chaotic being he knows. Nedzu.

Notes:

Eek! Sorry again for such a short chapter. I should be getting longer ones out soon. Hopefully. Absolutely no promises.

Chapter Text

After the revelation Oboro came to the other day, he's been struggling with it. He knows that it's alright to have feeling, these types of feelings. He's just not sure... What to do with them.

Shouta's noticed because of course he has. He had pulled him aside yesterday and asked if he was alright. Oboro replied saying he honestly wasn't sure.

He had told him "I just.. We don't know if he's here to stay. We don't know when or if, he'll get sent back to the future or whatever. I want to get to know him more, I want to learn everything I can about him.. But I don't-"

"I get it." Shou had interrupted him "It's scary. It's new. You know I'm not the best at.. at feelings. So I'm not really sure how to help you. Maybe talk to Nemi?"

Oboro considered it for a moment before shaking his head "I think I have a better idea."

Which has lead him to where he is now. Sitting in front of the Principal drinking a cup of tea on a Saturday morning.

"What can I help you with Shirakumo-kun?"

Oboro hummed "Well. I've come to the conclusion that I like Izuku. A lot, and Sensei I know you don't understand human emotions very well, so that's not why I'm coming to you for this. I need to talk to someone who'd think about this logically and methodically. Ya know?"

Nedzu hummed, staring unnervingly at him for a moment "You want to know if getting into a relationship might hurt more in the long run since we don't know all the possibilities of his travels, yes?"

Oboro made a so-so gesture "I just want to get your input to see if you think if it's a good idea."

"I don't see why not!" Nedzu replied immediately, surprising Oboro "You're both young. Even if he's not here to stay, why not make the most of his time here? It might benefit both of you. Who knows, he may be stuck here!" he chuckled lightly "Shirakumo-kun. You're usually one to take risks, what's made you so hesitant this time? You weren't hesitant to strip naked in front of your classmates and teacher just awhile ago."

If Oboro was looking closely he would have seen the glimmer of mischief and glee in those beady eyes instead he floundered "That's different principal! It's not just me this could effect, ya know? I don't want to do anything to hurt him.."

"Hmm." Nedzu stared at him for awhile longer, though he seemed lost in thought for a moment "Let's make a deal Shirakumo-kun."

"A deal?"

"Yes, yes a deal. If I can convince Izuku-kun to be my personal student by the end of the week, you'll talk to him and ask him on a date."

"Wha-what does him being your personal student have to do with any of this sir?" Oboro asks completely bewildered and confused.

Nedzu smiled sharply "It shows he's willing to take a risk, don't you think? How many people do you think would willingly, be my personal student?"

Oboro stared at him as he thought it over, before his eye's widened "Most are too scared of you. I mean, you make me nervous. No offence sir, but I don't think I'd be able to take personal classes with you."

"Exactly my point! Many are able to talk to me for short periods of time, but are still highly uncomfortable. Not many are willing to sit with me for a few hours, because I unnerve humans to the point that they don't want to be in my presence for longer than absolutely necessary."

Oboro hummed "Alright. You have a deal sir."

"Wonderful! Now go, shoo. It's the weekend, go spend time with your friends Shirakumo-kun."

Oboro left feeling like a weight had been lifted off his shoulders. Now, he smiles wryly. What would be good for a first date?

The mist flickers violently for a moment, making the man with scars narrow his eyes at him.

"Ya alright there?" he asks nonchalantly.

The purple fog looks up to him and tilts his head "Yes? Why wouldn't I be?"

"No reason." he shrugs.

"My.. head has been hurting every once in awhile." he admits reluctantly.

"I wonder why, do you have any thoughts on it?"

"I just thought I was dehydrated."

The man with the scars sighs in exasperation.

Shouta sighs, Oboro has made himself at home in his apartment the past week. It's Saturday and he's here again today.

He had just been asking Zuzu about his friends back home, and he didn't get much before Oboro had just... Let himself in.

"Ro!" Zuzu shouted and ran to hug him, Shouta watched as Oboro's features softened and he placed his head on top Zu's.

Shouta raised an eyebrow at him and got a bright smile in return.

The three spoke about nonsense things for awhile before Zuzu had made his way to the bathroom for a moment, as soon as Shouta knew he was out of ear shot, he turned to Oboro.

"I take it you found the answer you were looking for?"

"Sorta. But I also feel like I made a deal with the devil."

"What?"

"I made a deal with Nedzu."

Shouta spluttered his eyes going wide "Why on earth would you do that?"

"What's life without a bit of chaos?"

Chapter 15: Class discussion

Summary:

It's finally time that the teachers sit down with Class 1-A and a select few others to discuss what exactly is going on for Izuku.

Notes:

HELLO EVERYONE!
I'm so sorry it's been almost a whole year since I last updated this fic.
Life has been messy and busy and all around chaotic.
My update schedule will still be extremely sporadic and I don't have set days to just sit down and type.
But please, enjoy this chapter!

Chapter Text

Hizashi sighed. He knew they were going to have to discuss with Class 1-A what all was going on with their classmate. But there's just so much and he's not sure where to start.

He's skeptical, yet thankful that Nedzu is here to help the conversation along. He is usually a bit more put off by the Principal's presence, but he seems genuine in his concern for Zuzu.

He looks to Shou and Nem. They all questioned Nedzu, asking if it was absolutely necessary that Yagi got to sit in on this and speak about it. Nedzu understood their hesitation and admitted to them that Yagi seems genuinely upset with himself and his past actions towards Zuzu. He also said that Yagi may have more information on the quirk and it's enemies, and his tongue may come a bit loose with an atmosphere of deep discussion. They all hesitantly agreed.

Which leads them to now.

The five of them sitting across from the whole of Class 1-A and Miro. Eri is sitting on Shou's lap frowning slightly, but her eye's are shining bright with intelligence, ready to absorb the conversation about to be had.

"Alright." Nedzu clapped his paws together and began "Where would you all like to start?"

Iida raised his hand, Neduz nodded to him and he spoke "I believe we should start with the Quirk. What exactly it is and what it can do."

The students around the room nodded with agreement.

"Yagi, would you like to say what you know about it?" Nedzu looked to him with glinting beady eyes and Hizashi and to choke back a laugh at the way Yagi shuddered.

He nodded "The quirk is called One For All."

He was immediately interrupted "Wait! Like All For One?" Kaminari looked startled.

Yagi nodded slightly "One For All was accidently created by All For One a long time ago. He had a brother, who was sickly and thought to be Quirkless. From the story that's been passed on along side the quirk, All For One decided to force a Quirk onto his brother. Thinking it would help his health. The quirk he gave him was Stockpiling. What none of them knew, was the brother did have his own quirk." He pauses looking around the room "It was an invisible quirk. The ability to pass his own quirk onto someone else through DNA. Though it has to be given, and accepted willingly. As it's passed along, it will combine with the quirk of the new user. Enhancing said quirk, plus a bit of super strength from the previous users that had been built up in the stockpiling."

Yaoyorozu raised her and and Yagi nodded to her "Isn't All For One's quirk the ability to take and give quirks by force? He's able to hold them all and use them as he pleases, correct?" Yagi nods his head and she continues with a thoughtful look on her face "You said that the quirk that was forced onto his brother was a Stockpiling quirk, that mixed with each users quirk."

Nedzu watches her with a glint in his eyes that Hizashi knows means trouble.

"Yes, that is correct." Yagi nods with a bit of confusion.

"The brother's original quirk, the ability to pass along his quirk, mixed with the Stockpiling quirk is what created One For All? So the Stockpiling quirk, essentially took, and stocked the ability to pass along said quirk."

Todoroki, Iida and Bakugou's eyes widened with understanding "So, with that line of thought, as the quirk is passed along, mixing with the new quirks, wouldn't it be taking those quirks along with it? Or some essence of them? Stocking them like it did the original quirk?"

Everyone in the room gaped at her reasoning.

"Now, I'm not sure-" Yagi began but was cut off by Nedzu's cackle of delight, making everyone shiver.

"You would be correct in your assumptions Yaoyorozu-kun! When Midoriya-kun was first discussing the quirk in the past with myself and a select few others, he told us all that he had been getting dreams of the past users. They told him, that he would slowing be gaining the ability to access all the quirks within One For All."

Those not already in the know (The teachers besides All Might) jaws dropped.

"Wait! So he'll be getting 7? More quirks? It's 7 right?"

"Yes because technically One For All is a single quirk. That originated from the first user."

"7?! Holy shit! He could hardly handle the strength! How's he supposed to master 7 more?!"

"Mido is gonna be stupidly OP."

"How's that any fair? Having to learn 7 more, separate quirks when he had such a hard time with the first one?!"

"Enough" Shouta flashed his quirk, and the class immediately settled. Hizashi had to hide a smirk. It's always impressive how his husband can get them to quiet down so quickly. Hizashi is also extremely impressed with Yaoyorozu's thought process and how a few of the other students caught on so quickly to her line of thought. These kids will make it far, if they last till graduation that is. Aaaaaaaand now he's made himself sad.

"If-if that is.. Then he'll only be getting 6 more quirks. I was originally quirkless.." Yagi stated quietly, staring off into space.

The room went deadly silent. For only a moment.

"WHAT?!"

"You?! All Might?! Quirkless?"

"WHAT THE FUCK?!"

"Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy."

"Well, that is quite surprising, non?"

"Quiet! We can discuss this more in length in a moment! But you all need to quiet down!" Shouta sighed harshly pinching the bridge of his nose. "Yes, Yagi-Sensei was originally quirkless. As was Zu-Midoriya-kun. Yes, Yagi-Sensei had no idea the quirk also stockpiled the other quirks. Yes, it will be incredibly difficult for Midoriya-kun to learn and master the other six quirks. But, he has more help and support at the moment than he did here. He has people he can talk to about his quirk and it's developments. He has the support he needs to handle it better and quicker than he did here. He will be fine in that aspect."

It was quiet for a moment before Todoroki raised his hand "Yes?"

"What do you mean he'll be fine in that aspect? Will he... not be fine otherwise?"

The teachers all shared a look, Shouta sighed and nodded his head to Hizashi to explain "Well kiddos. We were hoping to save this for the end of this discussion, but since it's being brought up now, well.." He sighed, shaking his head "When Aizawa-san, Kayama-san and I were in high school.." He began hesitantly, staring off into space.

"Well, we had a friend. His name was Shirakumo Oboro. His hero name was Loud Cloud.." His voice was quiet, yet seemed to echo around the room "I met him my first day of first year in class 1-A. He was bubbly and loud, like me! He didn't care that I had some issues controlling my quirk" Hizashi smiled sadly "We ate lunch on the rooftop, that's where we met Kayama-san. At the sports festival, Aizawa-Sensei won." He smiling proudly at his husband "And he was transferred into class 1-A. Just like you Shinsou-kun."

Said purple hiared teen blushed slightly, but looked to his homeroom teacher with stars in his eyes.

Hizashi continued "It was only a few days, but we all became close."

Aizawa interrupted with a far off stare "Oboro got me to open up to him quickly. He was always so nice and.." He shook his head.

The class all shared uncertain looks. From what they could tell, this boy sounded wonderful, but there was such a melancholy air around this whole conversation, that none of them wanted to speak up and ask questions.

Hizashi smiled sadly and his husband and best friend "We grew close quickly, as I said. Aizawa-Sensei had only been coming up to the roof with us a few days at that point, when poof! Midoriya-kun just, popped in out of nowhere and landed directly into Oboro's lap!"

Nemuri laughed "None of us had ever been so confused! Oboro just stared at this strange boy in his lap and your poor classmate." She shook her head laughing "Stuttered over his words, asking who Oboro was, then your stuffy homeroom teacher had to go and scare the poor green-bean!"

Shouta rolled his eyes "All I did was ask him who the hell he was, he looked at me and passed out."

The class shared laughs at that, but quiet and uncertain laughs.

Hizashi picked up the conversation again "We all grew close, quickly. I won't go into all the details now. Maybe it's something we can branch out on in a bit. But I want to get to why Zuzu may not be fine." He sighed "Izuku and Oboro ended up together."

The students eyes all widened, some gasped, some squealed.

But Bakugou had a look of consideration before he spoke out, "If they were together, they were obviously pretty damn happy to be around each other. So why the fuck would Deku not be fine? Hah?"

Nedzu took this as his que to speak up "While your teachers will be gaining their memories through the month your classmate is gone. Because of my quirk High Specks, I processed the information and got my memories a lot quicker."

Aizawa nodded "Oboro... Oboro was killed in a work study accident. A, uh, building collapsed. He pushed nursery children out of the way and he got caught beneath it all."

"No!"

"What?!"

"That's-that's so sad!"

"I'm sorry you all had to go through that.."

"He? He died?"

The teachers let them all have a moment, when the class finally settled down, looking to their teachers with misty eyes, Nedzu continued "The day your classmate is to come back, is the same day that his boyfriend, Shirakumo Oboro dies in the building collapse."

Yaoyorozu's hand flew to her mouth in shock. Uraraka finally let her tears cascade down her cheeks. None of them spoke though. Too busy mulling over what this could mean for their friend. Bakugou punched the floor and growled.

Koda raised his hand "Yes, Koda-kun?"

His voice was quiet, but loud enough to hear "Do you know if he's aware that Shirakumo-kun has passed, when he gets sent back to here?"

Nedzu shook his head "No, all that we knew at the time, was that he disappeared in the chaos of it all. We thought, at the time, that he had perished as well. We had never found a body though. He was there when the attack started, I know that much. But past that?" He just shook he head sadly "He may not know, he may. He may be hurt, he may not be. We have to be ready for anything, when he comes back."

Eri piped up then "Deku-nii will be sad. We have to make sure he will be happy."

Class 1-A and Mirio all nodded their heads in agreement. They'd do whatever they could. They will help in whatever way they can.

Chapter Text

Izuku twisted his fingers together nervously. It’s been a week since he’s been in the past, which means it’s time for him to make a decision about becoming Principal Nedzu’s personal student. He still doesn’t feel like he’s worth it.

All his life, he’s been told that he isn’t smart. Always down-graded and belittled. He knew, to an extent, that he is smart. He kept up with Kacchan, and was placed 4th in his class in UA.

He knows his Quirk-Analysis Notebooks are worth something, they aren’t just rambles by a fan boy. He only knows this because his classmates from the future (Past?? His past? That’s too confusing.) had mentioned something. Well, only a select few that is.

Tsu had looked over his shoulder one day when he was seated on the common room couch, writing in his notebook about the things he had observed in Heroics earlier that day. He hadn’t realized she was behind him until her hear a quiet, yet startled and soft “Ribbit.

”Ribbit.”

Izuku startled badly and turned around clutching his notebook to his chest. “Ah-ah! Tsu! I uh, I didn’t-didn’t noticed you! I uh, what-what can I d-do for you?” He smiled sheepishly.

Tsu stared at him for a moment. Tilting her head in consideration. “You know, ribbit, I hadn’t ever thought about using the mucous I secret on my hands and feet as I land when I jump to go even longer distances. It’s like what Ashido-chan does with her Acid, yes?”

Izuku gulps nervously as he realized she’d been reading what he was writing over his shoulder, but nodded none the less “Y-yes.. It’s just, well.. I had the idea when I watch you two spar in class today.. Not-not saying you don’t know how to use your quirk or anything like that!” He waved his hands around in an anxious manner “I just thought that well.. If-if you could use it like that.. Then the extra distance that you could gain..” He petered off, rubbing the back of his neck nervously.

She nods with a finger on her cheek, a sign that she’s in deep thought and take a moment to respond “It’s not a bad idea to try out. It could also help with evasive maneuvers as well.”

Izuku nods his head enthusiastically in reply “I thought so too! You could jump at someone and if they lunge, you could use the mucous to slide out of the way!”

The conversation had carried on from there, and for awhile, he only shared his thoughts with Tsu-chan. Before she had eventually asked if she could share some of his thoughts with Iida-kun. From there, it spiraled into his close friends. So now Tsu-chan, Iida-kun, Uraraka-chan, Todoroki-kun and Shinsou-kun all knew about his Quirk Analysis Notebooks.

He let out a sigh, which caught Shouta’s attention “You alright Zu?”

Izuku sighed again, leaning back against the couch “I-yes? I guess. It’s been a week since I’ve been here, and I’m supposed to let Principal Nedzu know if I’m willing to be his personal student or not.”

Shouta raised an eyebrow at him “Well.. If you think you can be in a room alone with the Rat-God for more than an hour, I don’t see why not. It could potentially be very worth it.”

Izuku looked to Shouta in confusion “Why wouldn’t I be able to be in a room alone with him for more than an hour?”

Shouta stared blankly at him for a minute, making him squirm before replying in a deadpan voice “You’re not sane.”

“Sh-Shouta! What does my sanity have to do with this?!?”

“No one, and I mean no one likes being in a room with him for longer than a few minutes, let alone an hour. He makes people uncomfortable. No sane person, would willingly sit alone with him for more than an hour without there being a reason.”

“But-but he’s not that bad! He’s essentially just another person!”

Shouta shook his head “You see, that’s exactly what I mean. Most don’t consider him a person because, in all technicality, he’s an animal with a quirk. An animal with a quirk that makes him as smart as, actually.. Makes him smarter than almost all other human beings. That is what makes most people uncomfortable with him.”

Izuku blinked at him “But..”

“Nope. No buts. I think you could benefit from this. But that choice is up to you.”

So that leads him to where he his now. Sitting in front of Principal Nedzu, with a steaming cup of tea in his hands.

“So, you’ve thought over my proposal yes?”

Izuku nodded shakily “I have..”

Nedzu smiles wildly, his kanines glinting in the light “May I ask, what conclusion have you come to?”

Izuku pauses for moment, staring into his tea, before he sets it down, squares his shoulders and looks the Principal in the eyes “I would like to know more about what I would be learning with you, before I accept.”

Nedzu’s beady eyes gleam in excitement “Many things. Coding, hacking, analysis, to name a few. Potentially slight emotional-manipulation. But we’ll circle back to that.”

Izuku gulps down his nervousness and thinks for a moment. These are all things that could help him with his hero career in the long run. He lets out a shaky breath.

“I accept.”

Nedzu grins, and cackles in delight.

Chapter 17: New Perspective

Summary:

Oh? What’s this? A new perspective perhaps?

Time to find out why Dabi is suspicious of Kurogiri.

Notes:

Ah?!? Another chapter so soon?!

Enjoy!!!

Chapter Text

When it first happened, Dabi refused to believe it was real. Perhaps he got hit with a quirk unwillingly and unnoticed.

He would have known or figured some of his memories were missing or messed with, but then he realized that, maybe not. There are a few things in his life that he doesn’t quite remember. What happened in those months where he miraculously recovered from almost burning to death? How, exactly, did he survive? He doesn’t know, doesn’t remember shit.

So when he experienced that first, painful, memory. Well, it’s safe to say he was suspicious at first.

Dabi had been outside smoking a cigarette. Trying to calm his anger at Shigaraki, when he was hit with an agonizing headache, and a ‘memory’ played through his mind.

It was one of Endeavour’s more painful trainings. He wanted to impress his father. His newest little brother had been born in January and already showed signs of having the perfect quirk. But he had to prove himself to his father so he wouldn’t just throw him away.

It had escalated quickly, and painfully.

One moment, he had his blue flames under control, the next it started to hurt. But he pushed through the pain, hoping to prove that he was worth the time and effort. His father had told him to stop. Stop waisting his time, stop trying to prove himself to be something he wasn’t.

He refused and pushed more, which his father yelled at him for.

“Touya! You can’t go on like this! How many times must I tell you, if you can’t control your flames to where they do not hurt you, then you’re waisting my time!”

His father had stormed out, after smacking him in the face, leaving him with open burn wounds. He had enough and left.

He ended up in an empty alleyway. Shivering, curled up with his knees pulled to his chest, his head resting on them, letting his tears fall.

He heard a scuffling towards the open mouth of the ally, and quiet voice “I swear I heard something in here Ro..”

He heard a sigh “Zuzu, what if it’s dangerous? We don’t have our licenses yet, we can’t really do anything about it.”

He then heard a groan and a different voice “Technically Oboro, Izuku does have his Provisional License. Still, he has a point Izuku. You may be able to do something about it, but we wouldn't be able to assist you.”

A small chuckle rang out “You guys, please just let me check? It could be nothing, or an animal, or just someone needing help.”

Toya stiffened at that, pushing himself further against the wall and swallowing a sob.

“Fine.” The one he assumed was this Oboro fellow sighed out “But we’ll be right behind you. Just in case.”

“Thank you!” The first cheery voice called out, the one he figured was named Izuku, from what he gathered from their conversation.

He ducked clsoer to the dumpster he was huddled close to, hoping whoever this was, would just pass him by. He doesn’t need help.

He heard quiet footsteps, and the gentle voice spoke up “Hello? Is anyone there? I’m a hero in training, I can help you if you need it.”

He tried to stay quiet, but a whimper broke through his throat. He internally cursed when the footsteps made their way to him.”

He lifted his head in time to see a curly head of black hair, and wide emerald green eyes peering at him. The eyes widened as they took in his appearance. The boy, crouched down aways from him “Hello, I’m… I’m Akatani Izuku, what’s your name?” His gentle smile almost convinced Touya to speak. But he shook his head.

“That’s alright. You don’t have to tell me your name if you don’t want to. Are you hurt?”

Touya hesitated for moment. He didn’t think this boy would hurt him, but.. You never know. Heroes aren’t supposed to hurt people, but his father proves otherwise.

He lifted his head, and looked the boy in the eyes.

He watched the other stiffen, eye’s widening and his breath stutter in his chest. A whispered “Dabi.” came from his mouth.

Touya’s face scrunched in confusion “That-” His voice came out rough, so he cleared his throat “That’s not.. my name..”

“No, no you’re right. Sorry. You just reminded me of someone I once.. Knew. Are.. Are you hurt?”

Touya hesitated for a moment again, before he reluctantly nodded “Burns..” He whispered out.

There was muttered cursing coming from the boy, and then Touya noticed the other behind him. He had sky blue, waves of hair. It almost looked like a cloud. “Zuzu..”

“I know Ro. Just a moment.” The boy turned to look at his companion, then back to Touya “Would you be willing to come with me? I know how to treat a burn or two.” He smiled so gently and so sincerely, that he almost said yes right away.

But, the voice of his father in his head spoke to him before he could say anything.

”Touya, never trust someone else to take care of you. No one is safe. You’ll always be on your own. If someone wants to help you, that only means they want something from you.”

Touya felt his body start to tremble, and tears gathered in his eyes.

“What-what do you want in exchange? I don’t- I don’t have money. I can’t- I can’t pay you back..”

He watched as both boys’ eyes sadden, the one with the blue, cloudy hair approached and knelt down next to the other, and shook his head “We want nothing in exchange. Just to help. Like Zuzu here said earlier, we’re heroes in training. We just want to make sure you’re alright, and to help out with your injuries. No one should be walking around with exposed burns. So what do you say kid?” His smile brightened and he held out his hand “Let us help you, yeah?”

Dabi came to, bent over and clutching his head. None of that made any sense. That kid in his, memory? That’s what that was right? That kid looked like that green haired hero in training his boss wants to get rid of. But that doesn’t make any sense at all. If this is a memory, then this was around the time he was eleven or so, so fifteen years ago.

There’s no way that’s possible.

Just when he was about to stand up straight, the slightly static voice of Kurogiri spoke up “Dabi-kun, are you alright?”

The way in which he asked, reminded him of that cloud-headed kid in that memory. He shook his head clearing that thought “Yeah.” He spoke roughly “Just a weird memory, I suppose. Hurt my head for some reason.”

He stood up straight and watched as Kurogiri nodded “Yes, it could hurt remembering potentially traumatizing memories. I know most of you haven’t had the easiest lives.”

Dabi shook his head “That’s the weird thing, nothing about that… Memory.. was too traumatizing.” he paused “Most of us? What about you?”

He watched as the mist man paused, clearly thinking before he spoke “To be honest Dabi-kun, I don’t remember anything before I came into my Master’s service.”

Dabi nodded, it doesn’t surprise him all that much.

“What did you remember, if you don’t mind me asking?”

He paused, carefully considering if he should tell the mist man anything. He sighed and thought ‘why not’.

“It was weird, I was in an ally, I was around eleven I would say. My quirk had burned me, and I hadn’t treated the injuries yet. I remembered this kid, who’s name was apparently Izuku, like that green haired kid Shiggy wants, He also kinda looked like him too, just with black hair. Came up to me and asked if I was hurt. There was this other kid there, with blue, cloud like hair. His hair actually kinda…” He paused, staring at Kurogiri.

His mist moved in almost the same fashion as that kids hair did.

But that’s impossible. Right?

“Dabi?”

He shook his head “Sorry. His hair kinda reminded me of your mist. In the way it kind flows in a non-existent breeze. That’s all.”

“Hmm. That is interesting. But why would you remember someone who looked like Midoriya-san?”

Dabi shrugged “No clue. Maybe his father or something? I don’t think they’d share a given name though. That’d be kinda weird.”

Kurogiri chucked “Yes. That would be strange. Let me know if you remember anything else, yes? I may be able to help you sort it all out.”

He nodded, then spoke up again “Hey, you said you don’t remember anything before you came into All For One’s services..”

Kurogiri nodded “That is correct.”

“Do you think..” He paused uncertainty.

“Dabi?”

“It’s just.. Doesn’t that seem a little.. I dunno, off, to you?”

The mist man just stared at him for a moment, before flickering violently, and bending over and grasping at his head. “Agh!”

Dabi rushed forward, grabbing at the man’s mist like shoulders, grabbing onto something surprisingly solid. “Kuro? Are you alright?!”

The other gasped in air, before finally calming and standing up straight slowly. He dusted off his suit and Dabi took his hands off him hesitantly “You okay?” He asked again.

“Yes, I apologize. I’m not quite sure what just happened. It almost felt like I was being split in two.”

Dabi’s eyes narrowed. Staring at his companion in consideration “Are you a Nomu?”

Kurogiri straightened, and in an almost robotic voice answered “I’m not permitted to share that information.”

Turquoise eyes widened in disbelief. That pretty much confirms it then.

Mist, or fog, whatever the man was made of, is made up of clouds.

Maybe, just maybe his thoughts from earlier have more merritt to them, than he originally thought.

He’ll have to watch his companion closely.

Chapter Text

Oboro couldn’t believe his luck.

Zuzu had told them at lunch that he had agreed to Nedzu’s personal lessons. Which means Oboro has to figure out how and when he was going to ask Zuzu out on a date. He had been thinking about it for most of the day. On their way to Shouta’s house after school, Zu had heard something in an ally way.

Now, there are four of them sitting in Shouta’s living room, three Highschoolers and a badly hurt pre-teen. All thoughts of when, how, and where their date should be, gone from his mind.

“Zuzu, why do you know how to treat burns so well?”

They watched as he paused in his ministrations of wrapping the last of the burns on the poor kid. Turquoise eyes peered up to look at Zu, a question on his lips, but no sound escaped. Zu sighed, finishing what he was doing. He gently and patiently laied a hand atop snow white hair.

“I.. Had a uh- friend. Who could make..” He paused looking at Shouta for a moment, before he shook his head with a sigh “He could make explosions with his hands. When we were little, and his quirk first came in, well. Like any other kid, he had a hard time controlling it at first. His quirk at first could only really make sparks, but sparks still burn. His dad helped patch me and him up for awhile, showing us how to take care of them.”

Zu sat down next to the kid, who still wouldn’t give them his name. The boy was paying rapt attention to him, scooting closer to listen, Zu sent him a small, sad smile and continued “As we got older, we learned I wasn’t supposed to get a quirk. I was diagnosed quirkless.”

Oboro and Shouta, already knowing this didn’t react, but the boy sitting next to Zu let out a gasp and spoke hesitantly “I.. But if you don’t have a quirk.. How are you a hero in training?”

They all winced, but his question didn’t sound malicious, so Shouta kneeled in front of him and spoke softly “Anyone who puts in the effort, time, and has the heart of a hero, can become one. Quirks are just tools that help sometimes. But there will be times when someone can’t use their quirk in certain situations. They should be able to fight without it, and without relying on their quirk.”

The boy stared at him with wide eyes “But my dad.. He..I..”

Zuzu grabbed his hand gently, bringing his attention back to him “Sometimes our parents are wrong. Sometimes they push their beliefs onto us, and effect the way we think. But, the way they think isn’t always right.”

The boy nodded, looking contemplative for a moment “Can you continue your story, please?”

Zu nodded “Of course.”

He took a deep breath “So they came to the conclusion that I was quirkless. This.. Friend and I had wanted to be hero’s together. We’d known each other since we were born. So this put a damper on those plans. I think it made him mad? Upset? I don’t really know. But he’d always been brash and angry. He started lashing out at me, started using Deku and an insult towards me. The angrier he got, the less rational he got. He burned me with his quirk a few times back then, mostly in school. The first couple of times, I went to the school nurse. She told me ‘Now watch close child, I won’t be able to do this every time.’ so she showed me.”

Oboro sat on the other side of him and rubbed his back when he noticed he had to take a shaky breath “You’re alright Zuzu.”

“S-sorry, you don’t have to say anymore..” The boy with the turquoise eyes shifted his look to the floor.

Zuzu shook his head “It’s alright. Anyway, So, he ended up burning me a lot. I don’t think he ever really did it on purpose except for one time.” He shook his head “But because of that, I had to learn to take care of the burns to make sure they didn’t get infected or anything like that. That, is why I know how to treat burns so well.”

“Zu, why do you think most of those weren’t on purpose?” Shouta asked with a scowl on his face.

Zuzu looked contemplative for a moment “Well, most of the burns were from stray sparks from his explosions. The teachers never stopped any quirk use, so I think he thought he was allowed to use his quirk in public. Or, at least on school grounds.”

“Your teachers sucked.” The kid spoke.

Zu laughed “Yeah, yeah they sure did.”

“Toya.” The kid spoke suddenly.

“Huh?” Zu replied.

“Toya.. My name is Toya.”

Oboro and Shouta watched Zuzu’s eyes widen significantly “Like.. Todoroki Toya?”

The boy nodded looking down, Zu took in a shaky breath and whispered out a “Fuck.
