Chapter Text
I am associated by a lot of things. The color red, birds, war, childishness, and the like. Though not often, some associated me with the word elegant, when all the elegance I have is replaced with coarse words and clumsiness typical of teenage boy, though it seems like the adults in my life have forgotten about that. I do not know why some associate me with words that do not reflect upon my being, though I am not obligated to correct them as they are not words that hurt like serrated claws clawing for blood upon my soul. Yes, I am confused with such words, I let it be as they do not know my entire being.
My child who is made out of woven silk and midnight terrors, often associates me with the word family. He called me papa the other day, and I have never been so full of love with my heart filling with fondness and love that was hidden deep within me as the wars raged on. Love, was that of a weakness as he had told me. Love never had a place in a war that was full of carnage and death, and as Dream took my life, I knew that my love will never be shown casually, even before my brother in all but blood came to the lands where Dream reigned with an iron fist.
Not everyone knows, but I am a descendant of a Phoenix, one who rises with its own ashes as their flames distinguishes within their soul. I have seen civilizations end and eras arise, I have seen timelords of different kinds, travelers with unorthodox means of changing their fates, Nature's blessings for the mortals and their vengeful wrath as they see what the mortals have done to the creatures they have lovingly made. I have seen many things, and wars isn't new in my eyes, though it was quite new to me when I was needed to participate in it, unwillingly of course. Though I consider L'manberg my home, it is ultimately just a piece of land, and something that is claimed by Nature Theirself. I, who was blessed with Time, was also cursed by Fate. A fate of burning as my supposed immortality withers away, but as time flows my corporeal body is designated upon my wandering soul, always finding a home but never to find one again as the cycle continues.
My child is a descendant of Arachne, gifted with the skill of shapeshifting and with the natural talent of weaving beautiful motifs for fabric, useful for inscribing runes of many kinds, but until Shroud is at the right age where he should know about himself, I shall take on the responsibility of keeping his innocence and let him have a happy childhood, as many children deserve to have. I have designated myself as his first teacher in basic education, before we move onto runes and weaving, though I know that he has already started weaving these fabrics with beautiful patterns, and I have never been so proud.
Another child I have is blessed by Atropos, whom is one of the three Fates. Clementine is a moth hybrid, and her decisions upon a situation that she herself is in is absolute, thus making her a decisive child. Her blessing designates her as an apprentice reaper until the right age, and thus before that age, I will teach her all the things she needs to learn, to be prepared for any obstacles that come her way. Though with us, she is a very jolly and goofy child. She helps us with many things, and might do small pranks that are relatively harmless. Clementine already knows basic education, thus I decided to teach her incantations and brewing of potions for starting her journey to become a Reaper's Apprentice.
This family that I have come to choose and love, will always be my top priority. Never my supposed family, never my supposed friends, and never my supposed home. The bonds that I choose will always weigh heavier than the bonds I have been given. This, I will protect with every fiber of my being, with all the knowledge I have, I rain hellfire upon those who threaten me and my family, no mercy will be given. This family will reign victorious by this play we call life, and I will make sure of it. Mark my words.
