Chapter Text
Hilda von Goneril was expecting today to be normal. She would get up, go to class and then laze about the rest of the day. If she was really motivated, maybe go take care of her wyvern. They would probably be happy to see her. Nowhere in that schedule was the appearance of her future self accounted for. But by the very nature of being her future self, it was expected that she had no way of knowing when they would arrive. Dressed in a black and red leather minidress, a set of black heeled boots snaked up her legs and up to her knees. They looked to be quite a pain in the butt to walk in. Why would she ever want to wear anything like that? Especially with those sleeves and gloves. Couldn’t her future self see how silly she looked. Better yet, why go with a gaudy-looking golden weapon. Shaking and squirming about, were they somehow an unwilling accomplice in this strange scheme? Yeah, that had to be it. They were here to rob her. Maybe it would be a good idea to work on her money skills to prevent any further events from happening. Probably work against her in the long run.
“Sup.” her future self greeted, bending down to meet her present self’s gaze. Even as present Hilda pointed an axe her way. Ignoring the possible attack, she let out a chuckle. Had her past self always been such a ditz. She could very much see that. But not to this level. Pushing that thought out, Future Hilda waved a hand through her hair.
“You’re here to rob me, aren’t you?!” Hilda announced and felt her future version push the axe down. Raising it back up, her future self snatched the weapon away. Throwing it into the wall, her gaze returned to Hilda.
“Why? All your money would eventually end up with me anyway. If anything, I should be giving you money in the hopes that you won’t spend it all in one place.” Future Hilda countered and was faced with a confused gaze. Letting out a deep breath, she debated how much further she should go before getting into the territory of things best left unknown to her past self. Absolutely better for her to find out than to just tell her outright.
“Then give me money then!” Hilda announced and got an eye roll in return. Her future self was an absolute brat of a person. Who wouldn’t want to give her money here? She was an investment.
“No, that would break the timeline.” Future Hilda countered and got a confused look from her present self. “That, and you would spend it all on Marianne.”
Hilda stuck her tongue out. But that just gave her an idea. An absolute dumb and lazy one, but still an idea.
“What if I spend it on Leonie instead?” Hilda answered and found herself faced with a slap. Staggering back, she tried to go with a slap of her own. Failed miserably. The only thing she managed to hit was a plush. Knocked to the ground, both Hilda's looked in that direction.
"What part of 'no', don't you understand?!" Future Hilda countered and shook her present version about. She made bad decisions all the time, but this just took the cake. Her past self really thought that was the best option? They were right before the start of a monumental school year. The life and death of far too many people hung in the balance! Yet, the only thing the slacker could think about was spending money on other girls? Unbelievable. But that could work in her favor. Just had to point it right. Should be easy enough.
"Then seduce the professor that will be arriving today. Make them yours and maybe I'll give you some money." Future Hilda announced and held her hand out. Hilda grabbed hold. This should be a cinch. There was no way that this could actually backfire on her.
.
"Byleth, you can keep collecting the weapons of our enemies to scrap." Jeralt called out, Byleth letting out a sigh. Another day, another time through this hellscape. Why they needed to go to a school was beyond her. As long as she got to kill and was paid for it, she would live. At least, as long as there weren't any catches to the job. Especially teaching. But who exactly would hire a person like her to do that. Be absolutely dumb. So she pushed that thought out and looked over her prizes. Relatively unbroken and clean of any fluids, they would fetch a good chunk of gold from a merchant. After bartering, of course. Byleth liked to drive a hard bargain when it came to discarded weapons. Kind of like love. Never had it quite registered in her heart. Perhaps Garreg Mach would change that.
