Summary
Post-Endgame.
They both live on Earth, but haven’t spoken for four long years. Out of the blue, he’s sent her a message: he wants to see her. She needs to figure out if she can forgive him, but does she even understand what happened—in his heart or her own?
Takes place in a very made-up non-canon universe where a wormhole opened near Earth while Voyager was gone, leading the Federation to meet the people of the Yol Star Cluster and nearby worlds.

She swallowed and flushed a little. “Yes. I couldn’t imagine asking him to go back to escorting me chastely to ship functions and dropping me at my quarters with a courtly bow.” Her voice went from mocking to quiet. “Not after the thunderstorm we had together. Not after I had lain beneath him and felt how he loves.” She was too tired to care whether she was speaking too freely with a man who might be uncomfortable with such sentiments, but John’s expression was kind and attentive. She sighed. “I loved him. I wanted him to be happy. How could I have asked him to live his life alone?”
