Chapter Text
Being a little in the heroing world is not an easy task. Stopping a villain from blowing up a building is easier than explaining that crime never sleeps to the caregiver who wants you in bed by 8:30. It was rare for a little to make it through hero training, which is why many schools originally prohibited them from entering hero courses.
A little's headspace made it much more difficult to go on missions and fight villains, but that did not stop them from trying. Because regardless of genetics, they had hero's blood coursing through their veins.
It was a shock to everyone when they found out that the angry, loudmouthed, swear jar filling, hero in training Katsuki Bakugo needed a caregiver. Well everyone except Izuku Midoriya who had grown up with the boy, and knew of his classification since middle school.
Kirishima, being the only person Bakugo really trusted had no problem in taking on the role. He even volunteered for the position since he knew that most heroes that were caregivers usually did not end up with a little later on in life.
He utterly adored Bakugo little or big, and it showed on his face. The very first time the two interacted when Bakugo was little was nearly a scene straight from a movie.
"My name's Kirishima Eijirou and I'm your new caregiver. I'll always protect you Kats, so count on me."
-
"Stop!" Bakugo whined, squirming in Denki's arms, "Lemme go!"
"Uh?" The yellow-haired hero said confused, looking around before looking back to the blonde and releasing him.
Aizawa pinched the bridge of his nose as he watched Bakugo sprint from the training grounds with Kirishima following closely behind, his practice group also left stranded. Bakugo Katsuki, the only classified little in class 1A, was a handful of a student. Aizawa did not have a lot of experience training littles, but he could tell this was going to be a pain. The boy was a great fighter, he could tell, but a lot still needed to be ironed out.
"Let it be known that there are no bathroom breaks in the middle of a fight." Aizawa said in a bored tone as the two students returned. He kept his eyes over the entire class as not to single anyone out, "And Littles in headspace should not be present on an active field, that's what the daycare is for."
Although there weren't many littles in the hero course, there were plenty in general studies and support courses. There were many well-known littles who graduated from UA's support course. Little's were actually sought after for support because of their abundance of creativity.
So many designs and inventions were added to hero costumes because a daring little pushed to boundaries between reality and fiction. Caregivers often made the best heroes due to their increased strength, awareness, and caring nature.
"I'm not little right now! That shitty dunce face was squeezing me too tight!"
"He was squeezing you?" Aizawa suppressed a groan and Kirishima sent him an apologetic look, "I'll make a memo to tell the villains not to squeeze you too tightly at our next annual meeting."
At the end of class, Kirishima escorted Bakugo to the dorms. Although littles and caregivers had separate dorms to be with other littles and caregivers, they got to keep their rooms on the floor with their respective classes.
That's where Kirishima liked to spend the majority of their time and Bakugo didn't really mind one way or the other, especially when he was little. But when he was out of headspace, then he just spent the time in his room.
"You should've told me you were feeling little."
"I wasn't little then and I'm not little now! Stop talking to me like I'm a child shitty hair." Bakugo growled as he walked away from Kirishima, "I said that dunce face was squeezing me too tight."
"You know Aizawa isn't going to accept that as an excuse Kats. I don't want you to be expelled because he doesn't think you're taking this serious enough." Kirishima said
"Just drop it."
Bakugo had been feeling off lately, and it was affecting him outside of headspace. He couldn't put his finger on it exactly, but he would figure it out on his own. At least today was Tuesday! If he could get Kirishima to let go of this topic, they could have a relaxing night together.
Kirishima does drop it for the day as a head full of curly green hair intercepts his path. He finds himself with a faceful of Izuku Midoriya and his face turns as red as his hair.
"Hey, you guys doing okay? I saw you run off the field earlier."
"Everything's fine Midoriya, someone just had to rush to the potty," Kirishima said causing Bakugo to balk at the phrasing, and Midoriya cooed at that.
"Don't talk about me like I'm not here!" Bakugo said stormed past them, expecting Kirishima to follow, but stopped in his tracks when he saw the two still chatting away. His stomach turned when Midoriya put his hand on Kirishima's arm.
"Hey, why don't we hang out in my room tonight? If you're not busy of course. I'd love to share my notes with you!" The green-haired boy bounced on his toes excitedly, literal stars in his eyes.
Bakugo rolled his eyes as he waited for Kirishima to turn the damn nerd down so they could get on with their night. He was shocked still when he heard the boy agreed, giving a shark tooth grin. "But I thought-"
"Hm?" Kirishma hummed looked over to Bakugo, "You're okay to spend the night by yourself Bakugo? You said you're not little after all right?"
Bakugo gulped turning away to head into his dorm, calling out over his shoulder, "Yeah yeah, I don't need you breathing down my neck anyway. I'm not an idiot."
"I'll come by and check on you in a while."
"Yeah, don't!"
"Don't be afraid to come find me if you need me either!"
"No one needs you. You dumbass! Just go already." Bakugo growled slamming his door.
'Stupid shitty hair. This was the third time that Kirishima has ditched Bakugo for that damned Deku. It wasn't fair. Kirishima chose Bakugo first! What's happened since then? It used to be Bakugo and Kirishima, and sometimes Denki and Sero and Mina. But never Deku. But now it was Kirishima and Deku, and sometimes Denki and Sero and Mina, but never-
It didn't matter. Bakugo was capable of taking care of himself. He had done it before Kirishima and he'll continue after!'
Bakugo dumped out the contents of his backpack. It was important that he kept track of his schedule even if there was no one to remind him anymore.
First on the list was homework.
