THEY MADE ME DO IT | Wanda Maximoff

Work Text:

Wanda watched from a distance as (Y/N) walked into the florists, knowing that the woman would pick out sunflowers. Sunflowers were always (Y/N)'s favourite flower, they had been since Wanda had gifted some to her on their first date.

(Y/N) spent exactly seven minutes in the florists before she left, her purchase in hand, setting off into town to buy some fresh produce with Wanda not far behind her. She never noticed Wanda when she followed her.

It was Wanda's punishment from Agatha; (Y/N) was cursed to forget Wanda every time they met. (Y/N) had all of her memories of Wanda forcibly removed and destroyed. Wanda could still hear (Y/N)'s screams of agony from that moment when she closed her eyes to sleep at night.

Initially, the redhead had tried to get (Y/N) to remember her, but each attempt was a fruitless battle as the memories never returned and for a moment, Wanda had wished that she was the one who was cursed so she didn't have to suffer through the torment of not having her (Y/N) with her.

The attempts eventually stopped when she realised that (Y/N) would never remember her. Maybe it was better this way: (Y/N) would now never know the troubles and secrets that Wanda once shared with her. (Y/N) would no longer be in danger because of Wanda.

So, for now, Wanda was content in watching her love for a distance, as maybe, just maybe, (Y/N) was happier without her in her life.
