Chapter Text
Eijun excitedly left Akagi Junior High School and now walking down the road with a smile pastered on his face because today is his birthday. He's now 13 years old.
"Yay! It's my birthday!" Eijun shouted but not too loud.
He exhaled heavily as he let the breeze hit his face but suddenly, someone tapped his shoulder. Eijun turned around and looked at the stranger who looked like he was in his late 20's.
"Hi, kid." The man said with a smile on his face.
"Y-yes?" Eijun replied as his smile disappeared.
Eijun could smell the alcohol in the stranger's breath and there he knew that he was in trouble.
"Really? Is it your birthday?" The man asked as he came close to the young student.
Eijun nodded as he began to walk backwards but only to be stopped by another man.
"Hey, you should never walk alone, little cutie." The other man said before he grabbed the poor young boy.
Eijun began screaming as they pulled him to their black car and forced him in the back seat. One drove while the other
held Eijun down at the back who began to take off Eijun's gakuran uniform and then started to unbutton his pants. Eijun tried everything he could but it was no use since they were stronger than him and the man slapped him across the face.
"NO! NO! NOT AGAIN!!" Eijun yelled as he struggled.
He then kicked the man's chest and then began to hit the other man in the front, causing the car spin around and crashed into a truck.
Two hours later, Eijun's parents came rushing in the hospital and run to the front desk.
"May I help you?" The nurse asked.
"We're here for Sawamura Eijun, they said he was in accident." Eijun's mother said rapidly.
"Are you Eijun-kun's mother?" The doctor asked that caused them to look at their left side.
"Yes, I am. Is he okay?" Eijun's mother asked.
"Please follow me." The doctor said.
Eijun's parents nodded and followed the doctor. He lead them to a quiet room which made Eijun's mother shock as her only son laid on the bed as if he was dead. She ran to Eijun and held his hand as tears fell from her eyes.
"Oh no! What happened to you my baby?!" She said.
"He was in a car accident which impaled his throat—" The doctor was cut off.
"A car accident?!" Eijun's father and grandfather both asked.
The doctor sighed as he nodded, "Yes. He was with two older men who were intoxicated," The doctor paused for a moment.
Eijun's mother looked at her son and then at the doctor, "So what you're about to tell me is — that my son was about to get raped?"
The doctor nodded.
"Okay, the question that is important is if he's okay, so is he?" Eijun's grandfather asked.
The doctor looked at them, "He's fine," he answered with a hint of sadness in his tone.
Sawamura family looked at him waiting for the doctor to finish.
"He won't be able to speak." He finished.
They looked at him in shock.
"What do you mean?!" Eijun's father yelled but not loud enough.
"Your son tore his vocal cords, not just any tore. He literally ripped it. It will heal, but I'm not certain if he'll be
able to speak again." The doctor explained.
"S-so, Eijun is a mute now?" Eijun's grandfather asked while more tears fell down from Eijun's mother.
The doctor nodded.
Two weeks later, Eijun stared at the TV blankly. He's watching a high school baseball game.
"Sawamura-kun, are you in pain?" The nurse asked as she came in to check up on him.
Eijun slightly shook his head.
"Okay, well I'm going to take blood from you okay?" The nurse said.
Eijun just nodded and the nurse did what she had to do and then left the room. Eijun took the notebook that his mother
left for him and began writing the same thing over and over again.
"Kaasan, I have something to tell you. Sensei did things to me that made me hate him, despise him and made me afraid of him."
Eijun read in his head before he scribbled all over it with the pen.
The doctor then came in the room. "Sawamura-kun, how are you?"
Eijun looked at the doctor and quickly began writing again. He then handed him the notebook.
The doctor smiled when he read [I'm okay.] then looked at Eijun with a serious expression. "The nurse has been telling me that you're not sleeping."
Eijun then began writing again and handed him the notebook.
"So you're having nightmares of all the bad stuff that happened to you?" The doctor asked and Eijun nodded.
"Tell me what happened, it's better to let it out." He added.
Eijun took the notebook from the doctor and began writing. After a while he handed the notebook back to his doctor. The doctor read the paragraph that his patient just wrote, then looked at Eijun in shock.
"Y-Your teacher touched you before?" The doctor asked in shock and Eijun nodded.
"How many times?" He asked.
Eijun rose his hand and raised five times.
"Five times?!" He yelled and Eijun nodded sadly.
"We have to tell the police." The doctor said.
Eijun grabbed his doctor's hand and shook his head.
"Why don't you?" He asked with a serious face.
Eijun took the notebook again and wrote his reason.
"It'll hurt your family..." The doctor said.
Eijun nodded with sad eyes.
"You're gonna have to tell them." He said and Eijun shake his head once more.
"Fine, I won't say anything, only because you told me not to." The doctor added and Eijun slightly smiled.
Four years later, Eijun is now 17 years old. All of his friends were yelling 'Happy Birthday'.
Eijun smiled as he put on his gakuran and he was very happy. He only had two years in high school and then he's out of here because he can go wherever he wants.
His smiled faded when he saw Wakana's mother with a serious expression and said, "E-Eijun-chan, your p-parents are in the hospital!"
Eijun's eyes opened wide before he began running out the house with Wakana and her mother and drove to the hospital.
"Hi, can I help you?" The woman asked at the front desk.
Eijun wrote down that his parents were in the hospital.
"Sawamura-kun!" The doctor called who took care of him.
Eijun looked at the doctor, but the doctor shook his head.
"What happened?" Wakana asked as she caressing Eijun's back.
"Sawamura-kun's parents were in a car accident. The doctor answered.
Eijun then began to walk out the hospital and didn't bother to stop. He knew that if he turned around, he would've never been able to take it.
One month later, Eijun stood in the Tokyo train station, waiting to get picked up by his mother's old friend. He closed his eyes and inhaled and exhaled heavily.
"Eijun!" The woman yelled causing Eijun to open his eyes.
She walked to Eijun, introduced herself as Takashima Rei and hugged the young boy.
"Your travel was okay?" Rei asked.
Eijun nodded with a smile.
"Okay, come on." Rei added as she grabbed one of Eijun's bag.
When they entered the car, Rei told Eijun that he can call her 'auntie' if he's comfortable with that.
"You're gonna see your childhood friend. Are you happy?" Rei asked with a smile but Eijun didn't answer.
Rei sighed, "Seems like he's still not over it." She thought, then drove home.
After a while, they finally got home. Eijun took his bags while Rei took the other one and walked in the house.
She took Eijun to his new room, "I hope you like your room. It's not fancy but it's not messy." She said as they both walked up the stairs.
Rei then opened the door and placed Eijun's bag on the floor. "Do you like it?" She asked with a smile plastered on her face and Eijun nodded.
Rei sighed under her breath,"Well tomorrow you can start school, so get some rest now." She said before she left the room.
Meanwhile, his childhood friend suddenly walked in and scoffed while Eijun began unpacking.
"Who told you that you can live here?" Mei asked as he glared at Eijun.
Eijun didn't answer, instead he continued to unpack.
"This is my house! So you'll do whatever I tell you to do got it?" Mei said and grabbed Eijun's arm.
Eijun stared blankly at Mei and thought, "This is gonna be a long year for me..."
Rei yelled Mei's name so he let go of Eijun's arm.
"Let's get this straight. I don't like you and I never did! So stay out of my way and I'll stay out of yours!" Mei said before he walked out the room.
Eijun sighed then noticed someone who was staring at him from the house next door. He walked to the window and looked at the guy but this guy suddenly closed his curtains. Eijun sighed again and continued to unpack.
The next day, Rei is trying to wake up Eijun but he didn't wake up. She figured out that the young boy was a deep sleeper. She opened the door and walked to the window.
"Eijun wakey wakey!" Rei said as she opened the curtains.
Eijun still didn't budge.
Rei then kicked Eijun out of bed but of course he still didn't wake up. Rei sighed before she left the room to get a bucket of cold water and poured them on Eijun's face causing him to finally open his eyes.
"Get ready for school, honey!" Rei said before she clapped loudly to make sure Eijun doesn't go back to sleep.
Eijun sat up and watched Rei walk out the room with the bucket in her hand. He ruffled his wet hair and then stretched, then went to the drawer to get his toothbrush and a towel. Eijun walked to the bathroom only to see Mei walking towards it too and both stared at each other.
"I'm first!" Mei said with a bit of aggravation in his tone and pushed Eijun out the way and slammed the door on his face.
Eijun thought, "Why does Mei hate me? Did I do something in the past to get him to hate me?"
He leaned against the wall for about 30 minutes and Mei finally got out of the bathroom. He looked at Eijun and scoffed before he went back to his room. Eijun finally went in the bathroom.
After taking a shower, Eijun walked in his room and looked at his school uniform and then grabbed the note that Rei wrote.
'Here's your uniform and Mei will take you to school. Hope you have a good day, honey.'
When Eijun finish reading it, he ruffled his hair and looked out the window only to notice the guy from yesterday that was staring at him. They both stared at each other for a while. Eijun finally snapped back to reality, realizing that he's half naked so he walked to the window and closed the curtains.
After that, Eijun quickly took his medication pills and then grabbed his bag. He then walked down stairs only to see Mei leaving.
Eijun's eyes opened wide and ran after him, "Wait!" he thought.
"Just leave him!" Mei told the driver with a smirk plastered on his face.
Eijun watched as they started to drive away, "WALK LOSER!" Mei yelled then laughed.
After that, Eijun in-haled and ex-haled slowly to calm his nerves and began to walk even though he had no idea where he's going. Luckily, he saw a group of old ladies, he took out a notebook and a pen and wrote down what he wanted to say.
Eijun walked to them and then showed the notebook. The lady looked at the notebook and then looked at him.
"Ohh, the semi-exclusive Seidou High School is that way." The lady said as she pointed at the direction.
Eijun smiled and bowed and they smiled at him as they looked at the boy walking the way the lady told him.
After a while of walking, Eijun finally made it to school. He wiped his sweat as he walked through the parking lot when a blue car pulled in front of him.
"Watch it!" Maezono yelled with annoyed tone.
They're waited for Eijun to apologize but they only received a bow. The four boys in the car stared at Eijun with are-you-serious face.
"We're waiting!" Kuramochi in the driver seat said but Eijun didn't respond.
"He must be a newbie." Miyuki said with a smirk.
"Maybe?" Shirasu said.
The four boys looked at Eijun and then drove away to park. Eijun sighed and ruffled his hair and then finally was able to enter the school. He walked to the main office and the lady asked, "Can I help you?"
Eijun looked at the lady, he wrote in his notebook and showed it to her.
"Oh, you're Sawamura Eijun?" The lady asked and Eijun nodded.
The lady then stood up and printed out his schedule.
"Here, sweetheart." The lady said as she handed him the schedule.
Eijun smiled and bowed as he took the paper then walked out of the office. He looked at the paper as he walked causing him to bump into someone.
"Oh! I'm so sorry!" The guy said as he stood up and helped Eijun up.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
Eijun just nodded as he picked up his notebook and pen.
"I'm Takigawa Chris Yu, and you are?" He said.
Eijun wrote down his name in the notebook and showed him it.
"Sawamura Eijun?" Chris asked and Eijun nodded.
Chris just smiled with a sweat-drop, confused why Eijun wrote his name down in his notebook instead of telling him.
Another guy named Isashiki Jun called Chris but faded when he looked at the transferred student.
"Whoah! I saw you from the parking lot. You know Chris, those second years were very mad at him." Jun laughed as he pointed at Eijun with the hand that he's holding his can of green tea.
Eijun just nodded.
"Really?" Chris confused.
Jun already had a feeling that this newbie was gonna be a problem in Seidou.
"We'll see you around, Sawamura." Chris said as he began to pull his classmate with him causing Eijun and Jun bump into each other which made the green tea to spill on Jun's uniform.
"WAAHHH! YOU STUPID FIRST YEAR!!" Jun yelled as he looked at his uniform causing other students to look at them.
Eijun's eyes opened wide in shock and he began to bow repeatedly, mentally saying sorry but Jun smacked the mute boy.
"YOU RUINED MY UNIFORM!!" Jun yelled again.
Eijun stared at his senpai in shock as he held his cheek.
"Jun! Calm down it's just green tea." Chris said.
"So you're taking this idiot's side?" Jun asked.
"No, I'm just saying it's not that serious." Chris answered.
Jun looked at the first year with rage. "So you don't apologize for getting in our kouhai's way, then you try to attract Chris and then you spill tea on ME!"
"He's not trying to attract me, Jun. He just bumped into me—" Chris was cut off.
"From this moment on, WE ARE OFFICIALLY MARKED YOU IN SEIDOU!!" Jun yelled so loud that all the students gasped.
"Jun, are you serious? You mark this first year for this?" Chris asked.
Eijun looked at them in confusion.
Seven hours later, during the whole day of school, Eijun was bullied. Surprisingly Eijun was able to contain his anger. All he had to do was survive 15 more minutes and then he's out of there. After the physical education subject, Eijun sat in the bleachers after changing out of his gym clothes and in-haled and ex-haled to calm down his nerves.
Eijun thought, "My first day of school and I'm freaking marked."
Suddenly, a group of first years walked to him.
"Hello." One of them said, Eijun looked at them in confusion.
"We're from the baseball club." They all said at the same time, except the guy with a raven hair.
"We saw you how you throw the ball earlier and we were wondering if you wanted to try out." The small boy with pink-hair said.
Eijun stared at them waiting for them to bully him.
"I'm Kominato Haruichi and you are?" Haruichi was cut off.
"He's Sawamura Eijun." Chris said as he walked to them.
The four boys looked at Chris and then back at Eijun.
"Well, thanks Chris-senpai. He could've answered himself." Haruichi smiled.
"Sawamura meet Kominato Haruichi, Satoru Furuya, Kanemaru Shinji and Tojou Hideaki." Chris introduced.
"Well, we could've introduced ourselves." Kanemaru murmured.
"Oi~!" Jun yelled with hint of anger in his tone with Yuki, Tanba and Ryosuke.
"Haruichi, why are you hanging out with him?" Ryosuke asked, smirking.
"So, that's him huh." Yuki said.
"A troublemaker first year." Tanba staring at him.
Chris just rolled his eyes while the four first years are confused and Eijun looked at the clock on his phone.
"Three minutes left." Eijun thought as he stood up and grabbed his bag.
"Hey! Where are you going?" Tanba asked.
Eijun shook his head before he started to walk away but tripped by Jun. Everyone laughed but Chris and the four first years didn't.
"Are you okay?" Haruichi asked as he helped Eijun up.
"Haruichi!" Ryosuke warned and Haruichi looked at the enraged older brother.
"Leave him alone." Yuki said.
Eijun looked at everyone who was laughing. His heart began to beat extremely fast and his anger began to rise. Eijun then ran all the way outside of this semi-exclusive high school.
"I hate this school!" He thought.
