   Summary

   Verstael Besithia is a disgraced former engineer stuck in an unfulfilling desk job, far from the field he was once passionate about. When a daemon (Ardyn) offers him a way to claw his way back up, he takes it without hesitation. Ardyn only asks for one thing in return: Verstael must aid him as well. When a mysterious illness begins to affect him, he has to find out how to save himself before the disease consumes him.
