Summary
The darkness that had enveloped Kageyama’s house was nothing new. The yelling and the constant sound of glass shattering issuing from the kitchen was a familiarity that perhaps to anyone else, would be concerning. His mother leaving for unjust periods and the smell of alcohol that surrounds his father was something Kageyama should not be used to.
Slowly, but surely, he sinks. Finds the taste of his favorite food unbearable, and scarily, he soon finds the one thing that brings him joy, his love for volleyball, slowly disparate. It becomes a chore - a job. One he is forced to do. Kageyama should not be feeling this way - but that fact does not change anything.
And with that thought, comes the ever-growing wish that he would just sink and sink and sink, until he is out of sight and forgotten.
