These past few weeks, things have been really strange between Io and him. The whole vacation fiasco, Io almost leaving the earth defense club for stupid Akoya Gero (that ass) and the fact that they were now some superhero group (not that he didn't mind the costumes.) His life was pretty weird and on top of it he wasn't even sure how he felt about Io anymore.
Honestly, it was all Atushi's fault. He thought about what Atushi said a whole hell of a lot. And it didn't help the fact that every light touch and stare, he literally turned into a blubbering, blushing mess in front of Io. Not that Io really noticed, stocks and finances were his main concerns. But he was glad Io invited him over, it made everything feel sort of normal. Just two guys hanging out. Two guys who totally didn't have feelings for each other.
Io looked up from his laptop. "Hey I'm gonna' down and get some watermelon. you want some?" Io asked, setting his laptop on the coffee table.
"Yeah, sure." he responded while scrolling through his Instagram feed. "I'll pick a movie while you are gone." Io nodded and walked out the door.
He leaped off of Io's bed, picked up Io's laptop and flipped through netflix, looking for something good to watch. Hm, there was action, rom coms, thriller, horror could work. Then, he could cuddle up to io when he got to scared. He shook his head, cheeks turning red. stupid, stupid thought.
Of course, Io walked in at the perfect moment.
"Find anything good?" he set the a plate in front of Ryuu who grabbed one hastily. "Why are you blushing?" he asked curiously tilting his head to the side, taking a watermelon.
"Oh ha it is nothing, really. And nah, I wasn't really sure what genre to watch," Ryuu looked over at Io. Why did he have to everything with such goddamn poise? He made eating watermelon look good. God, he needed to stop, this was leaning on borderline too homo.
"Hm, I heard American Sniper was a fairly decent movie. But eh I'm not in the mood. Birdman too. I've also been wanting to watch the wolf of Wallstreet but I guess you would find it dull," Io shrugged. He looked over and noticed some watermelon juice dripping from the corner of his lip. Ughh. He was so tempted to just wipe off but he decided against it.
"Wait–you got something there," he said gesturing generally to his mouth.
"That was specific," Io replied, trying to find where he was pointing at. Ryuu felt heat rise to his cheeks.
"Here, I'll show you," he leaned over to reach Io but unceremoniously tripped, knocking Io and him to the floor. He had Io pinned to the floor and he felt his cheeks grow really hot. He was one hundred percent sure that his cheeks were a deeper shade of pink than his hair.
"crap–i-i'm sorry," he tried to get off Io but Io held him down.
"Eh, I don't really mind. It's actually pretty nice down here," Io said smirking. His light grey eyes drifted to Ryuu's lips, he brushed his fingertips across them.
"Wow, your lips look especially pink today."
Since when did Io get so suave?! Okay, it wasn't that suave but his cheeks said another story. All he wanted to is hide his face and return to his spot on Io's bed.
"uh-um..." he continued to mutter something incomprehensible.
Io cut off his muttering by brushing his lips against Ryuu's. Ryuu swore he stopped breathing for a moment, his eyes still wide open when Io kissed him.
"Io!?" he squeaked.
"Oh–uh, sorry I just have been kind of wanting to do that for a while," Io muttered, blushing, looking away.
"I didn't tell you to stop," Ryuu responded with a smirk, leaning down to kiss Io again.
Maybe today wouldn't be as awkward he anticipated and I mean who needed Netflix when you had your hot best friend with you.
