Sanji couldn't believe it was Zoro that had been send with him to this mission.
As expected, the man blew his cover soon enough, luckily holding out until they had the information they needed.

Work Text:

Sanji had to groan as he heard the noise from further down the hall, he knew it hadn’t been the smartest idea to go undercover at a marine base to discover what was known about them, or one of their allies - and maybe sending him and Zoro in had been an even worse decision.

Nothing that could be done about that at present though, not when from the sound of it, it looked like the Marimo had given himself away - how he managed to do that, Sanji really wondered about.

Sighing, he glanced at the people around him, all of them were running towards the comotion, giving Sanji a moment to turn around and try to intercept the other man - they had gotten the information they had come for, all they needed now was to get out alive.

Finding the other man in a dead end, looking around as if he was contemplating on just cutting through the wall in an effort to get out of there.

“Oi Marimo.”

Zoro looked up, and Sanji couldn’t help but notice the relief in those eyes at the sight of him, it was like Zoro hoped that Sanji would be the one to find him. And wasn’t that something to think about.

“Cook, we need to get out of here.”

Sanji nodded, pulling off his stolen marine garb before nodding once more to give Zoro the go ahead to cut through the wall. As they jumped down, Sanji could hear the voices exclaiming behind them about there being two straw hats at the base. He grinned, they were already leaving, but that didn’t matter - they would be chased.

Running towards the town not that far from the base, Sanji made sure to keep an eye - or more like observation haki to know when the marines came too close for comfort. Making sure to keep a hold on Zoro’s wrist, the two of them ran through the streets of the slowly waking town.

Making use of a group of early bird people blinding the marines on their tail on where they went, Sanji pulled Zoro into an alley between two houses, pressing the other man into the wall and closing in.

“Kiss me.”

Zoro blinked, but to Sanji’s surprise did as he was told. It was an amazing kiss even, as Sanji only remembered why they were doing this when he could hear the sound of armor boots coming by them - but with his back towards them and Zoro bending down, they shouldn’t be able to see just who it was that was making out like this.

As the sound of boots on the ground left, Sanji pulled back, out of breath as he looked into Zoro’s one good eye. He had wanted to say that he wanted to do this because of people aversion to public displays of affection, but that could wait, for now he just pressed his lips back to the chappier ones of Zoro - certain looks and ways of acting between the two of them finally clicking in place as a typical case of pulling pigtails to get the other’s attention.
