The Truth is Not for the Timid

Summary:

Buzzsteel finds out the truth about Cometstorm, Solarstrike, and Starblaze.

Chapter Text

There were not many bots out at this time of night, there were only a few doctors, some people coming home from the bar, and the rare drug addict that wandered the streets. Luckily that just made it easier for Cometstorm and her siblings to get what they needed. They waited patiently for some idiot to wander down the alley they were hiding in, Cometstorm hoping Buzzsteel wouldn’t find them and find out their secret.

Buzzsteel had been called into work at a clinic that was unfortunately short staffed; apparently the main doctor had somehow managed to get his foot ripped off at a bar the previous day. How exactly that had happened was a mystery but Cometstorm had seen bots attempt many stupid things while drunk with unfortentaly even more gruesome results.

It was slightly frustrating that the clinic was in this area though. This area of Iacon was a place where you could easily kill someone with no one noticing or caring that much and Cometstorm did not want to waste time looking for a new hunting spot. Her and her trine could not put this off much longer. Starblaze may prefer death sometimes to having to do this but Cometstorm didn’t.

It took about two cycles of waiting but evenly three drunken idiots wandered into the alley not noticing Starblaze in her less than stellar hiding spot due to her dark blue color which her blend into the shadows. Sitting on the ledge of one of the buildings Cometstorm softly signaled for Solarstrike to move through their trine bond. Though one would think that due to Solarstrike’s bright orange coloring it would be difficult for her to be stealthily, she was the stealthiest of them all. Solarstrike quietly moved down the wall of the building using the four tentacles on her back to move quickly reaching in the ground before the drunks even realized she was there.

Quick work was made of them as Cometstorm jumped down on top of the biggest bot of the three quickly knocking him out and Solarstike quickly poking out the optics of and knocking out the other to before they could see who was attacking them. That’s when Starblaze snuck out of her hiding shot.

“You know it would be easier if you actually helped us fight them,” Cometstorm said while tearing open the chest of one of the bots.

“You both know I don’t like people dying because of me,” Starblaze said defensively as both Cometstorm ate to spark of the bot she just tore open.
“We know but we also don’t want to lose you. People have to die for us to live, that's just the sad truth of our lives,” Solarstrike said softly, eating the spark of one of the other bots.
“I know but I just wish we were normal,” Starblaze said quietly as Cometstorm handed her the spark of the last bot.
“We will never be normal bots after all but I at least we have each other right,” Cometstorm said moving the corpses into a waste container in the alley as Starblaze quickly ate the spark.

“I know and I also know me leaving you guys alone would be awful but it's just isn't fair,” Starblaze said softly staring off into the sky.

As Cometstorm quietly moved to put the last corpse into the container she heard the sound of footsteps coming toward the alley. Dropping the body she quickly warned her siblings about it before scurrying up the side of the building using the shadows to hide her with Solarstrike moving close behind. Unfortunately, instead of fleeing, Starblaze froze, not moving away from the well lit section of the alley.

“Who’s there,” Buzzsteel said standing in the entrance of the alleyway.

“You left early,” Starblaze said nervously, retracting her tentacles back into her back as quickly as she could.

“What happened,” Buzzsteel said, noticing the bright pink energon splattered on Starblaze.

“Someone else killed him honestly,” Starblaze said quickly.

“Okay let’s get you home then. Where are your siblings and why were you out here in the first place,” Buzzsteel said with concern filling his voice.

“There at home and I just wanted to explore the area. I’m sorry,” Starblaze said, starting to cry.
“It’s okay lets just get you home,” Buzzsteel said nervously leaving the alleyway with Starblaze close behind.

Cometstorm then left the alleyway with Solarstrike following close behind using the back alleys to try to get to city center and home as quickly as possible.
