Work Text:

"Damn you Skywalker. Just wait until I'm back om my feet. I am going to kill you!!" the former Jedi Master yelled out. And if he wasn't so worried Anakin would have laughed at the empty threat. Letting the Korun Jedi crush his hand as he frantically drove towards the hospital. Hopefully Ahsoka was having a better time with the twins (she was not).

Finally arriving at the hospital, he quite literally jumped from the speeder and ran through the doors. After speedily explaining the situation two nurses ran out behind him and somehow between the three of them, managed to get Mace into the hospital. With a quick check to ensure that, indeed he was in labor, rushed to open an operating room.

Given the circumstance of his and Mace's children, the elder male needed a c-section to safely birth his children. Mace, who was in more pain that ever in his life didn't really care how the children got out of him as long as they got out and were alive and healthy.

Within minutes the operating room was prepped and Mace was readied to go. Despite the man's reputation of never showing emotion, he looked scared. So after Anakin scrubbed in, he did what he did best, distraction.

"Let's do this, once you're allowed to eat I'll bring you you're favorite, a potato chip and ketchup sandwich. Does that sound good?" he asked. Mace look thoughtful for a second before asking, "With what kind of ketchup?" Anakin did laugh at that point, this man and his tastes. "The good kind, the one made with real tomatoes." he promised. Mace smiled, "You're homemade one, right?" Anakin smirked, this man may have just cursed him out and threatened him with death but he would never hesitant with asking and getting what he wants, "Yep promise."

In all the children were born perfectly healthy. Ten toes and ten fingers. Two little boys, Finn and Jake. Mace, was now grumpy and sore, and probably not going to kill him. After all Anakin did get him his potato chip and ketchup sandwich. Ahsoka, the day after brought over Luke and Leia, who had claimed a twin for their own (Finn being Leia's and Jake bein Luke's). And how all three of the were sleeping in a chair next to the hospital bed. Mace, still recovering fell asleep a bit of go, only finishing half of the sandwich (which he finished off) and curl up with his children on his chest (which wasn't allowed but Anakin doubted he could move the boy twins without waking Mace).

He was happy that Finn and Jake were safe and Mace would recover, but a pang of sorrow filled his chest at the thought that his late wife wasn't able to bond with their twins. But he knew Padmé would want him to move on and he knew she was watching over the twins, both sets, in the Force with his mother.

He settled into the recliner for dads to rest over the recovery period, content to watch his family sleep. Not planning to rest himself, though the hospital seemed safe, things aren't always how they appear.

He dozed of anyways. Mace and Ahsoka awoke and found Luke and Leia had crawled into their daddy's lap. Mace, bound to bed until tomorrow had Ahsoka place Finn and Jake in his arms and snap a photo. It was adorable. And when Ahsoka tried to take the twins, Anakin tightened his grip around to four children in his sleep. They let them be, both were awake to watch in case someone started to slip and since they were alone they could use the Force if needed.

(All for children stayed secure in their father's lap until he awoke. And Mace was pissed when he found out Anakin finished off his sandwich. He was so going to kill the younger Jedi once he awoke. He never got around to murdering Anakin though, he was just to adorable holding all four children in his sleep.)

Notes:

The "Adventure Time" theme song came on as I was writing. So you get twins Jake and Finn. I also got the idea to you Finn from a funny Twitter conversation between Samuel L. Jackson and John Boyega where Mr. Samuel L. Jackson calls Mr. John Boyega his Jedi son. And then the "Adventure Time" theme song comes on and you get Finn and Jake.

Also if you never had a potato chip and ketchup sandwich on white bread you're missing out and you need to go try it now. Enjoy sugar bees - S Aurora.
