Rhododendron: Danger

Summary:

The snow was quickly melting, the dirt turning to mud. It wasn't the Antarctic anymore, it was pure hell.

"Tommy?!" Dream's voice cried out. "Pup!"

It was scary. Scary how fast danger could pop up like a flower blooming in the spring.

Like a Rhododedron.

Chapter Text

There was a howl that echoed through the forest and into the night sky. The wind rustled the trees, the leaves shaking violently in the seemingly coming storm. It was very late into the night, all the little families in the Antarctic snuggled up and sound asleep.

Well, except Tommy. The pup kept perking up at every little noise his ears could hear. It was finally he shot up when he swore he could have heard an explosion, but the wind was drowning every sound out and he couldn't keep up with the world around him. Needless to say, the alpha couldn't sleep.

"Pup." The lethargic omega cooed, reaching out to hold onto the alpha.

"Did you hear that?" Tommy quietly asked, settling back down next to Dream quite closely. "Like, the explosion kind of noise?"

Dream hummed, his words slurred with fatigue, "Thunder."

The omega carded his fingers through the back of Tommy's scalp soothingly. The alpha would have purred and settled down, but his senses were on edge and everything became overwhelming. When he heard the omega's breathing become slower and his hand lazily dropping over him, he slid carefully out of the nest.

He shuffled down the hall and into the dark kitchen, glancing out the windows every so often. He blindly felt around, trying to find Dream's communicator, since his very own had been lost a very long time ago.

When he finally felt the familiar piece of technology, he snatched it up and began typing away. Soft clicks filled the eerily quiet house, then an occasional sniffle from the pup due to his allergies.

Dream: Big T you up?

Tubbo: Dream?

Dream: No it's Tommy dumbass

Tubbo: HEY TOMY

Dream: Yeah hey Tubbo
Dream: Have you been hearing
any strange noises?

Tubbo: Other than the wind no

Dream: Oh ok

Tubbo: What's up?

Dream: Eh nothing just
thought I heard an explosion

Tommy sighed, sliding down the wall to sit. He let his head fall against it, a soft thud resounding. He stared at the bright glowing communicator in his hands, awaiting an answer from his best friend. He glanced out the window, which had a perfect view of the moon at its Waning Gibbous phase. He let out a harsh blow of air through his nostrils, fiddling with the corner of the communicator between the pads of his index finger and thumb.

The alpha perked up at the earth shaking boom that resonated through the air. Quickly, the night sky became a sunset at the unusual hour, fire spreading through the trees wildly as the wind fed the flames.

He stumbled up from the ground, running to the window with an aghast expression. The snow was quickly melting, the dirt turning to mud. It wasn't the Antarctic anymore, it was pure hell.

"Tommy?!" Dream's voice cried out. "Pup!"

The omega pulled him away from the window, Tommy's eyes never leaving the flames. It was scary. Scary how fast danger could pop up like a flower blooming in the spring.

Like a Rhododedron.

"Hand me the communicator." The older demanded, motioning to the device in Tommy's hand. "Grab any valuables, put your shoes on, and let's go. We're going to find Tech."

The alpha gulped, nodding as he scurried to his room. The roaring of the wind and fire put tension into the air, making it evident he needed to hurry. He slipped his boots on, grabbing a random backpack he usually would use to travel and stuffing different things he favored into the bag like: a blanket, picture frame of him and Tubbo, and some other little Knick-knacks he's collected from friends and other adventures. He put on the black sweatshirt Dream had given him days ago, the warm scent comforting him as he put on a diamond chest-plate and slung the dirty bag over his shoulder.

He went to the kitchen, finding the omega now adorning his mask and an axe to his netherite armored back. He was stuffing food and water into a satchel. He was silent, his body stiff with his movements. The alpha eyed him as he grabbed his sword, wincing at the bright orange light that shown through the window.

"I don't think we'll be back." Dream said, hurt evident in his voice.

Tommy grabbed his hand, "Whatever happens, happens."

The omega gave his hand a tight squeeze before letting go and swiftly moving out the door. Tommy was close behind and instead of feeling the cold bitter air, he felt heat.

The pup stared at the flames with widened, fearful eyes. He was running over every what if scenario in his head like: what if the fire reached their house? What if their caught in the fire? What if Dream is put at risk? What if they don't make it to Techno's?

"Pup." Dream purred, trying to soothe Tommy as he grabbed his hand and guided him into the farthest part of the forest, away from the fire.

Tommy held onto his sword and Dream's hand tightly, to the point his knuckles turned white. He just wanted to get to Techno's, away from danger. He would've loved the thrill and adrenaline of fighting the evil, but the fact his home is in danger scared him.

There was a snap, and sound like a whistle. The omega yelped, pulling Tommy back and stumbling backwards into the snow with him. An arrow smacked right into the tree next to them, digging into the bark with a loud thump.

Dream was up quicker than the alpha was, blocking a blow with his Netherite axe. It had collided with an enchanted diamond sword, sparks flying as the enchantments bounced off of each other, being pushed against the neck of the axe. Tommy was quick to recover, rolling slightly and thrusting his own diamond sword right into the stranger's side.

A growl rippled into the wind. The young blonde saw red, twisting his sword and pulling it out with a harsh yank. Dream grabbed his hand, dragging him along in a run as they dashed through the forest.

"I killed a man!" The alpha cried out.

"A mob." Dream grunted as he tripped over a root and stumbled against the mud. "That was a fucking pillager!"

Tommy gasped, "How far from Techno's?"

"300 blocks or so." The omega huffed.

The two kept running, 300 blocks turning into 200, soon 100. Dream kept his eyes forward, hand tightly around Tommy's. The pup kept looking at the back of the omega's head, until things turned into slow motion.

Tommy fell backwards, three arrows flying in between him and his mother. He watched Dream fall forward, both of them smacking into the ground. The younger blonde saw the world speed up, every noise screaming into his ears.

There was yelling, the roaring of fire, the stomping of feet.

"Dream!" Tommy screeched, pulling himself up and sliding on the wet soil.

The omega jumped up, his feet sliding under him slightly as he grabbed onto Tommy. He scanned the area, seeing the silhouettes of bulky figures growing closer to them.

"We need to split up." Dream informed, digging in his pocket and handing his communicator to Tommy. "Pup, take my communicator and keep going to Techno's. Message him, send him our coordinates. If we split up we'll create less noise and more footprints. They'll get thrown off."

The alpha trembled slightly as he held onto the communicator, "Please don't make me leave you."

"You're not leaving me, I'm only doing this to make sure we get out of this forest safely. You're my priority, if anything were to happen to you, I wouldn't forgive myself." The blonde explained.

Tommy gulped, nodding before he was gently pushed away. He took a deep breathe and ran the opposite direction of Dream. He scrambled to send a message to Technoblade, misspelling almost every word he typed.

He ran right into something, someone, two hands grabbing onto him as he tried to back away. He flung out his sword, the person holding him crying out as he fell back. The pup gulped for air, dodging the bloody hand grabbing at him. When he took a deep breathe he could smell the smoke emitting from the burning forest, but most all he could smell burnt cake.

Tommy was in a dilemma. He was hesitant on what to choose. Go back to Dream or keep running?

In the end, the blonde chose the former.

He ran the opposite way he was supposed to go, sniffing the air to find the omega.

"Tommy, wha-" Dream cried out, blocking another axe from hitting his face.

The pup rushed in, slicing the man's arm with his sword, "Back off, you stupid bitch!"

Dream rushed forward and, like a baseball bat, swung his axe at the man. He landed a hit to the same arm, the other growling loudly as he latched himself onto Tommy and pulled him back, the blonde loosing his sword far too quickly.

"Dream!" Tommy screamed, kicking wildly. "Dream, Dream please!"

The omega ran towards them, he himself being grabbed from behind and thrown into another pair of arms. He screamed and desperately fought to swing his axe at the one holding him, until it was snatched from him and he was forced, face first to lay on the wet ground.

He kept fighting, especially when the other turned his body to be lying on his back. He wrenched his hands forward, clawing the neck of the man looming over him.

Tommy leapt forward, escaping from the arms of his captor and smashing into the pillager over Dream. With the man trying to regain his bearings, the young blonde rushed to Dream's side.

"Dream?" The pup whimpered, trying to pull Dream up from the snow. "Come on, we're not far. Tech is meeting us half way."

Dream took a deep breathe, hugging Tommy close, "Are you okay?"

"Yes, but I'll be even better when we're at the pig's house." Tommy informed.

The alpha dragged the older along, internally freaking out. His mind was racing along with his heart and his body ached. He prayed to whatever god was out there that the pillager was still down, still pulling himself together as he and his mother ran from the scene.

"Omega!" A voice snapped them to their attention, a group of pillagers formed into barricade blocking their path.

Dream growled loudly, pushing Tommy behind him.

He reached back, trying to grab Tommy's sword before realizing they were unarmed. They were screwed, they were in trouble.

The next thing he knew was that he was on the ground, the pup screaming as the omega was straddled and held down as the pillager gripped him by the throat. Tommy yelped when he was grabbed next.

"Let go!" Tommy screeched, thrashing in his captor's arms. "Don't hurt him!"

The alpha holding Dream down chuckled, "I didn't think you of all people would have a child." He forced Dream's chin up and to the side. "Yet no mating mark. I see no one likes the real you, hm?"

"Fuck you!" The omega screeched, arching his back in any attempt to rid of the man on top of him.

Tommy watched in horror at the sight, crying out and doing anything he could to get to his mother. He was held tightly, hating having to watch Dream be dominated.

The omega's mask had been ripped off, face held tightly by the jaw, "No scarring, that's good." The alpha said.

"What's it to you." Dream rasped, voice hurting from the screaming.

"You know you were my prized possession." The alpha growled, nails digging into the other's jaw. "You were the only omega I could put up with, but it seems like you've grown to have a sour mouth."

"I would have rather been dead, you fucker." Dream spat, green eyes intense and murderous.

The alpha glanced up to Tommy, then leaned down close to the omega's face, "I would watch your mouth before your pup is put in harms way. Let's say we make a deal."

"I don't want anything to do with you." Dream growled, quite loudly to the point some of their gang had stepped back. "Your such an idiot for thinking I'd make any shitty deal with you."

"Hm, I see." The man chuckled, looking to Tommy's captor and nodding.

"Woah, woah, woah!" Tommy screamed, trying to get away from the weapon pointing at him.

Dream tried to look to see what was happening, but the pillager held his head tightly to the ground, "Dont hurt him, stop!"

"You brought this upon yourselves." He replied.

"No, stop! Teivel stop!" The omega cried out, twisting and turning every which way to try to see Tommy. "Pup! Tommy!"

"Dream!" The pup screamed out, crying out loudly as he felt a sword drive through his bicep.

"Tommy!"

Chapter Text

Tommy shot up, crying out in pain from the sharp ache in his shoulder. He whimpered, looking around and hoping that he just had the worst nightmare. Though, his hopes were too high. He was in a small, confined room which only held a blanket on the floor and a bucket. He didn't have any of his items; bag, sword, even Dream's hoodie. It was all gone.

He had no shirt on, only his shoulder and bicep wrapped in already red gauze. He furrowed his eyebrows, unwrapping his arm and wincing at the air hitting the wound. He growled at an approaching noise behind the wooden door and shuffled into the corner where the blanket was laid.

The door handle seemed to jiggle, the door opening with a cringing wrench, "Good, you're awake."

"Fuck you." Tommy rasped out.

"Don't give me that attitude." Teivel said, closing the door and walking towards the pup. "I made a deal to keep you alive, and I would quite like to fulfill this deal without any smart-ass remarks."

The alpha inched away from him, "What deal?" He spat.

"Oh, just that if I keep you alive and well that omega would shut up and listen for once." Teivel informed wickedly, pulling out a roll of gauze from his back pocket.

"W-What?" Tommy stuttered, full disbelief filling his entire gut. "No... you- no, please tell me you didn't do anything to him!"

"That's between him and I, you stupid pup." The alpha huffed, forcefully grabbing Tommy's arm to wrap it.

"You are sick!" The pup screamed, wiggling in his grasp and kicking his legs about.

Teivel growled loudly when he was kicked, "As an omega," The alpha wrapped the younger's shoulder tightly. "He knows where his place is and yet he chooses not to follow any orders given. Even in the past he always intrigued me and our first encounter was such a thrill. He was so young, he didn't understand what I was doing... his mother raised him well, but we ruined it."

Tommy shivered at the thought and images creeping into his head. Thoough, he growled, slashing Teivel with his nails and creating a mark from his cheek to lip. The older alpha yelped, launching back and holding the stinging wound.

The pillager stared at Tommy with a murderous gaze, wiping the blood off his face with the back of his hand. He went to reach for the pup, who in which scurried away, but was interrupted when the door slammed open.

"Sir!" Another pillager yelled out, scratch marks all over his face and arms. "P-Problem!"

"What?!" The alpha yelled, turning sharply to the other.

"The omega, he-"

The other didn't get a word out since Teivel had pushed past him. He dragged his comrade out the door, slamming it shut and locking Tommy in.

Teivel was quite large. He was tall, broad shoulders that were muscular. He towered over a lot of people and his skin was grayish, sort of ashy.

So when he bursted through the door to a bedroom, Dream shrunk away quickly with fear set in his eyes. The alpha ordered the door to be shut, his accomplice to go guard Tommy's little room in case of emergency.

Teivel crossed his arms, "Do inform me of why I was interrupted and rushed here."

The omega didn't answer. He was sat at the side of the bed, located in the middle of the room, on the floor, back stuck against the frame of the bed and wall. When the other moved to stand over the blonde, he scooted as far back as he could.

"Answer me, omega!"

"Fuck you, bitch!" Dream hissed, instantly regretting it when he was grabbed by his hair and pulled up.

He cried out, growling right after as his fist collided with the alpha's face. Teivel growled back, baring his canines and throwing the omega to the floor. Dream whimpered, grunting as he tried to get up but was forced back down. His body trembled violently, the alpha standing above him scoffing at the sight. Teivel had moved to have his legs on either side of the omega, making sure he wouldn't scramble away.

"We made a deal." Teivel slowly said, a hint of some violent emotion leaking out of his words.

Dream clenched his hands into fists, holding himself up on his side, "You-"

The alpha smacked his back with the side of his boot, "Shut it." He hissed. "Our deal was that as long as you submit, your pup would remain alive!"

"You said you wouldn't hurt him if I listened!" The blonde yelled, gasping when Teivel yanked him up by the collar. "Let go you stupid bitch!"

"Shut it, slut!" The alpha yelled back, earning fearful silence. "Remember all the fun times we had? All the memories?"

Dream grabbed onto Teivel's wrists tightly, "You're psychotic. You killed my pack, slaughtered them with no means and made me watch. You lit everything ablaze and MADE ME WATCH!"

"I remember very vividly." Teivel chuckled slowly and calmly. "Do you know what first attracted me to you?" After receiving no answer he pulled Dream up off the ground fully, holding him tightly by the wrists. "I picked you out from your scent." He stuffed his nose against the omega's scent gland, receiving a growl. "And then seeing you fight to protect your mother so young and the aphas gave me a thrill. I always thought--what if I could dominate him? What if I could ruin him? So I did, and seeing you back and grown up gives me such adrenaline."

"You ruined my life." The omega spat, wiggling in the alpha's arms, staring ahead with oh so many emotions written in his eyes.

"I quite think I made it better." Teivel murmured.

Dream was silent for a moment, "Why am I here? What the fuck do you want with me?"

"I just wanted my precious omega back." The alpha chuckled, his voice low and menacing.

Chapter Text

It's been days, weeks, really he couldn't tell. Tommy stayed in his little holding place, being visited each day to be fed, mocked at. He could hear loud cries at times, but recently they subsided and he hadn't heard a peep since last week.

No matter how much he tried to antagonize his captors, they wouldn't touch him. They only mocked him and called him names, threatening to do certain actions they would never fulfill. He hadn't been visited by Teivel in a while, which slightly concerned him. He had been stripped of everything that had even the littlest hint of Dream's scent. This left him with no reassurance or comfort in the cold room.

No one had seen him as well. He had been given less and less food. The pup was loosing nutrients and his health was quickly declining due to the lack of anything required for the human body.

Over the weeks of silence and alone time, the alpha was thinking through many plans of getting him and his mother out. Yesterday he was completely forgot about, given nothing except the noise of walking outside the stupid little door that enclosed him in the stupid little room.

Yep, it was at this moment Tommy was done.

With the little strength he had, he pushed himself up with a whimper and moved towards the door. It was like he was treading water, like he was trying to keep his head up as to not drown. He felt the fatigue hitting him and how sore his whole body was.

The pup grabbed onto the cold door handle, forgetting it'd be locked. He growled, moving to the bucket in the corner of the room, keeping his eyes away from the nasty contents in it as he ripped off the thin wire handle. He moved back to the door, falling on his knees as he began to pick the lock.

Shaky hands, rasped breathing, adrenaline coursing through his veins. He was determined to get him and Dream out of the nasty hell hole they were in. He fell back when the place shook, the alpha scurrying backwards against the other side of the wall.

No, he needed to keep going.

Despite all the noise and ruckus he heard, through all the tremors and screaming, he pushed the door open. He rushed out, his whole body screaming as he dodged pillager after Pillager running. He turned every which way, finding the cause of all the fear and dominating pheromones.

"Dream?!" The pup screamed out, eyes scanning through all the chaos. "Dream!"

He ran down many halls, past many people and even running into them. He could feel the place heat up dramatically, but he was desperate to find his mother. Finally, he ran right into someone who held tightly onto him.

"Fuck off you stupid bitch!" Tommy screamed.

"Tommy!" Sapnap snapped, grabbing onto his shoulders. "Tommy, calm down!"

The alpha stared into the noirette's red eyes, "S-Sapnap?"

"Yes, it's me pup." Sapnap cooed, hoisting the pup up into his arms. "Relax, I'm taking you outside to get medical help. Karl is gonna fix you up and get you some food. We-"

"Where's Dream?" Tommy perked up, squirming in Sapnap's arms and hyperventilating.

The noirette alpha began walking, adjusting the pup in his arms as he talked, "We're still looking for him..."

"Let me help!" Tommy shouted.

"Tommy-"

"I can help! Let me help! He's here, I know he is! Sapnap, I can help! Please, please you need to let me help. I can help, please. He's here, he has to be! I can find him! A-And with your help I-"

"Tommy!" Sapnap exclaimed, his alpha voice echoing into the air as they stepped out of the flaming house.

The pup fell silent with a quiet whimper. The alpha holding him felt terribly guilty, but his own fear clouded his judgement. They neared an area a little ways from the burning down pillager mansion, in which held Karl and Niki tending to Quakity.

Karl perked up at the distressed scent of Tommy, holding out his arms and allowing his alpha to set the pup in his lap. Tommy hiccuped, allowing tears to flow down his cheeks as he was rocked back and forth.

The brunette omega pursed his lips, adjusting Tommy to get a good look at his injuries and needs. Sapnap gulped down the knot in his throat before turning to head back to the mansion.
