Joowon admits it's a bad habit he picked up from spending time with Jihoon. For all the times he seemed clueless, Jihoon is actually smart but in short bursts. Jihoon is mostly smart emotion wise though, his ability to diffuse a tricky situation or to comfort is something Joowon learned to envy over time. He also learned some fun but bad habits from him too - they're around the same age and Jihoon actually has tastes similar to Joowon's.
So once Joowon took roots in Manyang - rather roots in Dongsik's house - Jihoon took it upon himself to teach a couple of things about Dongsik to him, notably through harmless pranks and practical jokes and if at first Joowon was a bit against it, he quickly learned it was a form of affection Dongsik liked despite all the bemoaning and supposedly angry glares, like mismatching his socks (most of the time Dongsik rolled with it, wearing the socks as they were and sometimes stomped in their living room, fuming and asking to be given the location of the missing halves; to which Joowon smugly answered with the exact rows in the drawer, triumphant grin hanging at the corner of his mouth and Dongsik storming out with a "brat!"), swapping the shaving cream with whipped cream (this one proved to backfire more than once on Joowon, Dongsik using the prank at his advantage to render Joowon breathless with a slow and messy show of... affection and a rather explicit account of what Joonwon's gaze on him made him feel like) or like in this moment, changing Dongsik's home screen picture to whatever silly one Jihoon - as a mentor he had the duty to be Joowon's partner in crime - just sent him.
Joowon goes through the process - or lack thereof in fact - of unlocking Dongsik's phone, swiping the screen to be faced with him and Dongsik. It's a picture from their first date, their smiles full of awkwardness and shyness. It's a very blurry picture, covered in noise as it was taken in the darkness of a planetarium, some constellations showing up in the background, the most distinguishable being Apus. They were half facing the camera, forehead to forehead, and Joowon remembers them ditching the tour guide, the both of them sharing their knowledge of stars as they walked hand in hand: Dongsik had learned because it could help if lost in the mountain while Joowon would've considered sciences more seriously if he had been allowed to.
With a fond exhale, Joowon let Dongsik's phone screen go back to sleep, much like the man whose head is resting on Joowon's lap, chest rising and falling in a peaceful lull. Slipping his fingers in between Dongsik's, Joowon's gaze settles back on the words printed on the page of this poetry book he found hidden on Dongsik's shelves. Coincidentally, this one poem is about feeling at peace in the universe. Joowon's lips sport the ghost of a smile.
