    Not that he'd been expecting this so much as he'd been wishing for it, hopelessly dreaming of it in that wistful, hazy way he used to dream of Nandor making him a vampire. But, it was a dream that had grown more and more distant as the years had passed, his hope that he would ever truly have what he wanted wearing thinner by the day.
