Harry almost didn’t hear him when he said it.
The window was open to let in some air and the sounds of people and cars and dogs and birds were quite loud. Alongside this, Harry’s heartbeat still hadn’t calmed down which wasn’t surprising – he was still deep in that post-coital daze. And on top of that, Draco’s face was mushed against his chest, the soft puffs of his breathing tickling Harry’s right nipple.
“What?” he asked and wrapped one of his arms around Draco’s back while also covering one of his legs with his own – to get them closer, skin against skin, skin within skin.
“I don’t think I’ve ever loved someone this much before,” Draco repeated causing Harry’s breath to stutter.
“Me neither,” he said and closed his eyes. Draco found his free hand and held onto it. He pressed a kiss to his palm and then brought it to the top of his head. Harry obediently started playing with his hair.
“Draco?”
“Yeah?” Draco lifted his head from Harry’s chest so he could look up at him. Something drew him to those green eyes, and he couldn’t look away, couldn’t lay back down. He shifted so his front was sprawled against Harry’s and he could rest his head on his hand.
“If I asked you to marry me right now, would you call me crazy?”
Draco blinked at him. “Are you asking me to marry you?”
“Do you want me to?”
“Do you want to ask me?”
Harry took a deep breath and Draco relished in how closely he could feel his body shift. “Yes.”
“Ask me then,” Draco said with a smile. A wide one. His heart was beating incredibly fast. Maybe even faster than half an hour ago when he was on the brink of climax.
“Draco, will you marry me?” Harry asked, grinning back.
“Yes,” Draco nodded and then shifted up for a kiss to seal the deal.
They kissed for what felt like hours when Harry pulled away abruptly.
“What is it?”
“I don’t have a ring!”
Draco looked at him incredulously and then rolled his eyes. “Doesn’t matter. We’ll get some tomorrow. Kiss me again.”
“We could go get some now,” Harry suggested, moving to grab his wand to check the time but Draco quickly sat up in his lap and prevented him from budging.
“We’re not going anywhere right now,” he stated, and Harry knew there was no argument to be made against it. Not that he wanted to argue against it – not with the way Draco was beginning to grind against him.
“Yeah, we can do it tomorrow,” he agreed quickly.
“Glad you see sense.” Draco grinned at him proudly before leaning forwards and capturing his lips in a long, heated kiss that lasted ‘till morning.
